A b o u t .. C l a n s
Hyena clans are ran entirely different from the usually lion prides we tend to see. Hyenas are highly social creatures, relying heavily on their clans for support and life in general. G e n e r a l
Clans can include from 5-90 members.
Clans are led by an alpha female. However, in Pride Lands, a male will lead the clan on a rare occasion.
Males usually leave their birth clan once they are about two years of age.
Females will tend to mate with hyenas outside of their clan. This does not, however, have to be so.
Other clan members do not care for another female's pups.
Each clan has at least one communal den.
A hyena clan's social hierarchy looks like this: Alpha (there is only one alpha; never is it a pair) Adult females Pups Adult males

Separate clans will hardly ever interact with one another. Unlike the cheetahs, who are a united group, the hyenas are very true to their clans and will not tolerate outsiders.
Clans are never run by a dominant pair. A single females rules over all other members of the clan. Depending on her personality, an alpha is usually very strict in her ways. On occasion, a male may lead a clan.
The clans are separated by rivers of water that lead into one big pond. The rivers are easily crossable so males can migrate from one clan to another in search of mates or new living areas.
Because Hyena Turf is located on an outer edge of Pride Lands, some of the clans live closer to the lions than the others. Lions and hyenas are allowed on either land, but conflict may or may occur depending on the clan and it's alpha.

The Alpha: Dakindi is exceptionally silent. Her movements hardly make any sound and make her seem to "appear" out of the twilight. She will not speak unless she has something important to say, and communicates largely through body language and movement. She sees no point in interesting herself with the squabbles of others, unless they are under her rule and then she will intervene. She has NO interest in lions, and neither detests nor likes them. She does not particularly care for others opinions, and loathes opposition. Cunning and occasionally cruel (if the matter calls for it) she has all the strength she needs to rule her clan and protect that which is important to her.
History: Dakindi was abandoned at a very young age. She wandered and fought to live and gain respect among the Hyenas. Eventually making her way to the GhostHunt Clan grounds, she saw visions of pale bodied hunters and ghostly prey. This land called to her, and bid her stay. During her wanderings she had a few confrontations with lions, but mostly they ended in casual interest, or disinterest. Therefore she has decided to remain neutral to all lion prides, until a lion gives her a reason to be otherwise...

C l a n .. K h e l e k .. H u r r o' [ Alpha: Denali ]
The Alpha: Denali is not the female to mess with. She is usually silent, not one to speak much of, or to her clan. The fairly sad part, however, is that she is quite the lazy; usually getting another Hyena to do the dirty work for her. Although she usually seems pretty calm, if you anger her, she will rise to her paws and strike you acrossed the face. She will not be put down and she will not be ignored. She will be followed and she will be listened to. If she isn't listened to, there are multiple things that she might decide to do to the one who disobeys her.
History: Feared? Hardly; though they should be. For those that know the hyenas of the clan, they know that these hyenas, especially their Alpha Female, Denali, should indeed be feared. The clan has known to have been strong, and still is. Khelek Hurro' has gone through times they'd rather not... mainly, with lions. Blamed for something they hadn't done, but another pack of rogue hyenas had. These rouges barged into a Pride. For this mistake, Denali claimed that from that point on, hyena and lion were at war within her Clan...
