The Current Storyline
In the world of Black Magic, the scholastic institution known as Mahora Academy is run by the Konoe family, a long-lived clan known for its Imperial consorts and deep-running magical prowess. However, in recent generations, the family's magic line has begun to atrophy. To rectify this situation, Konoemon Konoe has begun discreetly shifting Mahora from a mundane city-academy toward a more magic-inclined society. Using his family's far-ranging influence and the wisdom of his years, many years have been spent culling the most magically-gifted families from across the world, offering students scholarships at the many prestigious academies, whether the students are aware of their familial legacy or not.
In order to oversee this slow, careful process, and keep the Mundus Magicus as much in the dark as possible concerning this strategy, Konoemon has organized student prefects, otherwise known as Mahora's Mage Knights, in every school. Their task is to keep an eye on their fellow students, quelling rumors of any "unnatural" events at the academy and remaining vigilant in the event that any fellow students show the spark of the magical gift.
As our story begins, Konoemon has achieved perhaps his most significant victory yet: Acquiring the young son of the Thousand Master and installing him as a teacher in the formerly All-Girls Mahora Middle School Academy, with the hope that the gifted young prodigy will serve as both a magnet for more potential allies, and a catalyst for any unawakened prospective mages in the Academy...
