PetCo is the devil
i worked there for 6 months and the entire time i was there every animal was misrabale including the ferrets it took like all my time to try and find them good homes which i didnt mind doing but after i left one of the managers they hired gave a sick ferret to a guy with a large hungry snake
ive sent peta in sevral times becuse of teh horror stories that come out of taht place

yeah well i like PETA even less than petco...but that's an opinion and this isn't the place for me to rant about that.
the petco in my area (in other cities it's not so great and i've seen ones that are less than happy looking) is actually really nice and the pets are pretty well taken care of. it depends on the staffing, honestly.
and even from great pet stores ferrets aren't going to be that happy...they don't get to get out and play!! and we all know that's all a ferret ever wants to do.

I worked at two vet hospitals last year. One was Banfield, they are connected to Petsmart stores and have to treat the animals from the store. The other was VCA and they treat Petco animals. At both hospitals all types of animals from the stores would come in frequently. They were always sick and over 50% we had to put to sleep because of how poorly they are treated. People I know who have worked at either store said most employees don't care about the animals and they often don't get thier medications. I would never buy a pet from either store. Chincilla's are the only pet that I never saw come in. But ferrets are illegal in California so I can't say I wouldn't buy one of them. The vet I work for now treats ferrets and he thinks ferrets you buy from Petco are generally healthy because thats where most Californians get them, we just go to Petco in Reno and bring them back. Thats how I got my newest ferret last month and thats how my co-worker got his two ferrets and they are all in good health.

My husband won't let me dress the girls up 8'D Says if ferrets wanted to wear clothes, they would ask for them X'D
