I was almost worried about Ollie today. For the past few hours he's been really bummy. Hasn't wanted to play, didn't see him eat. He kept climbing up and down from the bed and laying down, giving me that look. You know the one. The "Oh I'm so sad. Pitty me!" look.
I tried getting him to play. He would take a few half hearted swats at my hand then resume his pouting. I was confused. I didn't know if he wasn't feeling well or if he was just extra sleepy. I start to get worried. Maybe he wants fresher water? I get their bowl and make for the bedroom door. (They stay in our bedroom.) And ZOOM! Ollie's out the door and war dancing down the hallway and under the sofa. That little bugger. He was being pouty because he wanted out of the room. >_<
So I chased him around the house for about a half an hour (I let him stay ahead of me.) and eventually 'caught' him and brought him back to the bedroom. He looked a little disgruntled but not nearly as sad as before. That little booger!
I would have let Izzie out too but she was sleeping.. I did leave the door open in case she woke up.

Awww, that warmed my heart a little. Mine do the same thing...I think I spoil them too much. If they don't get what they want they start getting moody and they'll give you 'the look.' MacDuff does it the best; he'll rest his chin on the side of his bed and just stare at me with half-lidded eyes. Until I give him 'tone or take him out.
But they do love new places to play. New places to explore. And poop all over...

Ha ha! That sounds like my Kodo. He stays in my room and I let him out to play with the cats, which he loves to do, but every so often he'd just lay there like and look so sad. He wouldn't respond to anything but he'd get antsy if I put him back in his cage so I'd just let him hang out on the floor. And he'd stay like that up until I'd go to the door and then instantly he'd be out before I could catch him. I came to the conclusion that he knew I'd have to leave the room at some point and he figured out that I wouldn't be so carefull watching him if I wasn't expecting him to move. Now I'm on to his trick but the cats have learned how to do it because they have to stay in my room durring the day because my step dad is in and out all day due to his home business and sometimes he leaves the back door wide open. So I have to always be on guard thianks to Kodo teaching the cats how to escape. It really sucked when all 3 of them got out before I caught onto thier trick.

oh the ferret stare!!! they do it so well. they're already cute and it makes them look cuter in a sad way. glad to hear ollie's cheered up.
