I think it could use a multi-person chat, but I'll live without it for now.

not really. You can't post a long opinion or talk to many people who aren't online at the same time on an IM system. It's really impossible to kill a forum with an IM. Forums still have major purpose. (I just hope that this will take away from the forum spam some...)

I like the IM. Mostly because I have (and always will) dislike PMing so it's a great alternative.
