Symba was tending to his flower garden, a routinely thing for him. His means of irrigation were the rain, which came quite frequently in these parts, and the slight creek running right down the middle of his flower bed. The day was sunny, ideal weather for photosynthesis to take place, necessary for plant growth.
He walked over to one of his larger trees, a chestnut tree of which the roots had grown upside the soil, forming a splendid hollow for him to reside in. The tree trunk was wider than most, yet another miracle of Symba's care. His home had space enough to house three foundlings, if not more. That wasn't counting the large breadth of dense branches above. Symba entered, looking about and quickly spotting his wooden spade, trotting back outside to resume his garden work happily.

Flight was something Astraea was still trying to master. Due to her blindness, her insecurities had developed much more than those of regular Foundlings. So usually, she flew up much higher than winged Foundlings too. But today was oddly different. The pink female seemed to be losing her other acute senses. She was feeling rather sick and dizzy and flying - God knows where - was not being of any help.
She felt herself drop steadily from the sky, gliding through the atmosphere as if it was a mere slide. Enjoying the woosh of air against her fur, Astraea let the rest of her senses wander. That was, until she hit the huge tree. There was an onslaught of sounds as she crashed into the leaves and branches, the snapping of twigs and rustling of leaves mixed in with her surprised voice.
Astraea released a cry of help, ignorant of which way was up or down as she plummeted to the face of the earth.

Symba, now contently digging his spade into the soft ground in a flower bed right outside his home, had not heard the other foundling's cry. He did, however, jump back in surprise as the strange female fell into the flowers he was tending to. The flowers were some of his favorites, too. Yellow tiger lillies. He didn't worry about the flowers, he could always find a way to call them back to life.
His eyebrows knotted as he approached the pink mythos, not that he knew what she was. All he realized was that she was unlike any foundling he had ever seen before. She was light pink and radiating a form of energy. Her shape was the unusual bit, though. She had feathered wings, apparently capable of flight, a lion's tail, and a blindfold over her eyes.
So that's why she crashed.
"Are you alright?" Symba came closer so that he was standing over her. The slight rise and fall of her chest indicated that she was breathing. Good.

Pain seemed to prickle along her entire body.
Astraea gave a short moan after hearing the male's question, unsure of what she was trying to indicate. At the moment, she was too scared to try and move her limbs in case they were injured severely - moving them would only cause her more pain. The fact that she couldn't see her injuries made her more nervous altogether. The female heard the other's strange rustling, frowning at the unfamiliar sound.
And then the pain began to subside from her rump where she had landed. Astraea decided to try and focus on something other than the pain. And voila; the scent of flowers overwhelmed her. It was a wonderful fragrance and it was as if it held therapeutic qualities. Her nausea and headache seemed to disappear and the prickling pain was growing numb.
"Such scents," she whispered, flicking her tail back and forth.

Symba breathed a sigh of relief. Apparently she could speak and talk, her lion's tail was moving slightly. "That would be my flower garden. Which you just landed in," he chuckled lightly, looking her over to make sure there weren't any severely dislocated joints. He couldn't spot any.
"That was quite a fall... Good thing my flowers softened the fall a tad!" He smiled at her, even though she probably couldn't see it with that blindfold on. "What were you thinking flying with that blindfold on?" he asked before pushing another question without awaiting a response, "Where does it hurt?" He wanted to make sure there wasn't any internal damage, either.

"Oh. OH, I do apologize!"
As soon as realization hit her, she flapped her wings so as to float up, and allowed her limbs to hang rather limply in the air. She hovered like that for some time before landing softly onto the flowers again. "Seems like I can't get away from these," she chuckled softly. Her joints seemed to be okay, and as far as she could tell, she didn't feel bruised in any way.
"I think I'm okay, thank you," Astraea nodded in the direction of the source of his voice. Her voice was smooth and calm, showing no signs of trauma or fear. "And I've been blind since I could remember. You could say it was an accident," She made a face, evidently indicating that it had been no accident. "The blindfold merely covers it." She explained.
It was the first time she interacted with someone else in a long time, and the sound of his voice made her feel less isolated. Besides, it was also the first time anyone had pointed out that there was a blindfold on her face. Usually the foundlings she'd met ignored it.
"So. Might I ask where I've landed and who's graced my presence with kindness?"

Taken aback by her revelation, Symba stood there with his mouth gaping wide for a long moment, unable to speak. Obviously she couldn't see that. He was a bit grateful, she wouldn't think him an idiot. He watched her, how fast she'd recovered. Well, somewhat.
"You've landed right by my home, which you actually crashed into, sorry about that." His words came out a beat too fast, he didn't like that. "My name is Symba." He noticed that he was standing there like a fool when he could've offered her something. "Why don't you come inside? I could get you some Isibho? It's a mixture of healing herbs I can brew in a hotspring's water. It works miracles for headaches and such."

"Have I now? No need to apologize, it should be me saying sorry," she felt her lips pull into a small smile. "I'm the one who crashed into your flower bed."
Astraea tilted her head at his introduction. He sounded a bit hurried. Had she dropped in at an inconvenient time? Ignoring her doubts, she replied, "It's certainly nice to meet you Symba. I'm Astraea. And in fact, I'd love some of that right now." She stepped forward cautiously, trying not to press into the flowers as much as possible. And then she stopped, realizing that she had no idea where she was going and where to go.
"If it isn't too much trouble..." She chuckled, motioning him forward.

"Oh!" Symba felt plain stupid. It should have been obvious that she wouldn't know which way to go. She couldn't even see the way! He slapped his paw into his forehead, the impact of self-injury lessened by the bit of mane in his face.
He came to stand beside her, his smooth fur brushing against hers. "Walk with me?" A question that need not be asked, for she had to no matter her opinion.
Beginning to walk towards the entrance to his home --the largest arch of roots-- in steps that were very slight, making sure that she was moving until he picked up his pace, he decided to make conversation. "I'm sorry if this question is insulting, but what are you?"

The adult Mythos almost giggled in bliss at his politeness. She did walk forward with Symba at her side, gently brushing against him from time to time to make sure she was going in the right direction.
A couple minutes later, she turned towards him when he inquired about her species. "If my memory serves me correctly, I remember someone telling me that I am a Mythos. Well, for whatever reason, I have wings capable of flight. Whether these wings are inherited or not, I'm afraid I don't remember. In fact, visions of my own parents are beyond me and I don't believe I have any siblings. In other words, even I do not entirely know about my self. As far as I'm concerned, I can fly, but I also am what others call 'rare'."
Astraea wasn't at all bothered by his question, as many others along her way had asked the same. It was the 'rarity' of her that seemed to pinch her nerves. But she retained her dignity as she continued walking.
"Have we yet to arrive sir?"

They had stepped into the wooden cove, the earthy floor acquiring a softer quality to it. Symba didn't feel intimidated in the least by her heavenly presence. Rather, he saw her as a beautiful flower gracing his garden. Not that he thought of her as an object, oh no. Flowers were full of life, each with its own flavor and colors.
"Yes, we have arrived." He smiled, guiding her over to a bed of fallen banana tree leaves. "You can sit down right there. I will go to prepare your brew, if you would not mind being alone here for a tidbit of time." He looked about his home, searching for something that might occupy her. What did blind foundlings do for fun? When they were possibly hurt? He spotted a wooden bowl full of fresh picked fruit. "I do not know if you would eat this, but they all taste quite delicious when you get used to it." He offered her the bowl, setting it an inch away from one of her paws.

"Do I detect the scent of fruit?" Her smile brightened in delight. Food was one thing. Fruits, on the other hand, were an entirely different story to her. They were sweet and delectable, most of them juicy and from what others had told her, visually appealing as well. And she hadn't gotten the opportunity to feast on fruits for a while.
Astraea sat down where Symba had directed her and nodded her head, acknowledging his statement. The pink Foundling bent down, following her nose to the fruit bowl. They had a rather odd smell, not terrible, but not too much like fruit either. It was a unique scent, and curiosity burned in the female's mind.
She took a small bite and chewed, her taste buds slowly adjusting to the new flavor. It really was delicious. Astraea mused at the particular tastes and continued to eat. She could wait for Symba, despite the fact that her headache had receded a long while ago. Why had she agreed to come with him in the first place?

"Why, yes, fruit it is." Symba tossed his head back to respond before turning it right back around and heading outside. His garden was intact, nothing had gone awry, the flowers that Astrea had landed in not that long ago regaining their glamour. Flashing a smile at his masterpiece, he trod on towards the hotspring determinedly.
It was not too much of a task, gathering the herbs and steaming them. Not a task at all, quite really, for he must've done it half a dozen times in the past week alone. Naturally, it was helpful that the herbs grew alongside the spring's edge, creeping through a series of stones weathered by the steam. He ground them together, taking great care, setting them into a bowl not unlike the one he'd just offered to the Mythos, except the latter was full of fruit. Next --and this was done with alike precision as the grinding-- he lowered the bowl into the water, clasping the wood with his teeth.
This spring was not one to bathe in. There were quite a number of them around the area, but this particular pool of steam would scorch a Founding's fur off!
Upon completion of the process, Symba stood, turning in the familiar direction of home. The brew was steaming hot, enough to burn one's taste buds away for good, but it would cool as he walked back to the strange girl he'd just met. Not that he had any business calling anyone strange.
He sighted his tree-hollow-home and smiled best he could while holding the bowl, walking inside and setting his work down in front of the pink figure. It was no longer steaming, but he knew that it was warm enough to chase away any remaining illness within Astraea.

She could smell the healing brew before Symba had even set foot in the den. It was a rather bitter scent, dissimilar to the sweet fruit she had just finished eating. Coincidentally, her headache didn't return; instead every remaining ache in her body had disappeared. Well, that was a nice effect.
"Back... so soon?" Astraea hesitated with her words as she got up to her feet.
She felt a strong urge to move her feet forward towards the male, but her mind would not allow it. So she stood there, albeit stupidly at that. The Mythos began to fidget slightly though one could only notice by her long tail, swishing back and forth more frantically. Somewhere deep inside, she wanted to know more about this kind male. It was an unfamiliar feeling and such a thought discomforted the female.
Astraea smiled towards Symba, tilting her head to the side in curiosity. "My, that smells... unique," she wrinkled her nose slightly and chuckled.

"I certainly do not think it of anyone else to make a concoction such as this!" Symba chuckled lightly, "now drink up, you'll be better in no time!" He couldn't help but prevent an affectionate smile slipping onto his face. Without realizing it, he's begun materializing certain feelings for this other being, feelings he had never encountered before. A light blush heating up his face, he was bewildered yet surprisingly satisfied with himself.
Once again, he was a bit grateful for Astraea's lack of sight. What a fool she'd think him, that was certain. He sighed and sat down, keeping his distance even though he felt a sudden incompletion considering the option of coming closer, being by her side in all senses.
