Title Banner Contest
Welcome to Pride Land's title banner contest! There's nothing like clicking on a shop's front page and seeing a beautiful title banner that just takes your breath away. It also makes you want to read more about the shop, right?
For the past three years, Pride Lands has always had the same, small banner in the first post. Although it's a beautiful, simple banner, I think a few changes would do the shop good. It's only the title banner that's changing, the rest look fantastic for their purpose!

The Rules
Like every event and/or contest, rules need to be enforced. In order to make this competition easy for you, the members of Pride Lands, and the staff involved, these rules need to be followed. Please read everything in this post! No drama what-so-ever! Causing or starting drama within this thread will result in immediate disqualification from the contest
If you do not win, please don't take a personally. It's not that your art isn't good, it just wasn't what I looking for in a title banner
Follow all of the guidelines! I don't want to have to repeat myself
All of Pride Land's rules apply within this thread. Think of this as a mini event

Guidelines and Instructions
What exactly are you doing? The following information will give you everything you need to know about the contest, so please read it all! Instructions:You will be coloring a lion for this event! If you win, I will put your lion on a banner I have created and he/she will be featured on the first post of the front page of Pride Lands! Here are some things to remember: Winner not only gets their submission put on the title banner, but they are also allowed to keep their lion officially
I, Kaoru, will be re-coloring the winning lion for the shop banner and for the winner
The lion can be any type! This means normal, rare, or even a cheetah/hyena if you wish. To get the lineart, click here! Unfortunately, not all of the stages have been put up for the prevention of art theft, however, I have a way! Just private message Kaoru-san305 for any additional lineart that you may need for the contest.
The lion can be any gender
It can be any stage
How he/she looks is completely up to you! Colors, designs, patterns, event edits is perfectly acceptable
Only one lion per person
This contest will be based solely off of the design of your lion rather than artistic abilities
Credit for the design will be put in the credit post on the front page if you win
Shading and highlighting isn't needed, but if you want to, it is
acceptable
Colorists cannot participate in this part, sorry D:

The BannerThe background that your lion will be placed on will follow the shop colors (tan, white, black, neutrals) and will resemble (if not look the same) as the aniversary event banner. However, along with the contest for the lion, I will allow a "side" contest for those who want to take a gander at the actual banner background. Here are some things to remember: I will not be re-doing the banner, so make sure it's your best work!
Please make sure to save a PSD (layered) copy of the banner so I can add the lion.
I may or may not have to move a few things around a bit for the lion to fit well, but if I do, you will still be fully credited
I am going to be extremely picky about this, so do not be offended if you do not get picked
All staff members may participate
Remember that it's length can be no bigger than 700 pixels horizontally when up on the front page. You can make it bigger, but if it doesn't look good when re-sized, I may have to turn it down.
Vertical length does not matter
If you really have a good idea, but can't actually make it, describe your suggestions in the following form and I shall consider it:

I has a question before I enter. When you say your going to re-color the lion...do you mean your just going to add the shading templates to what we've done or your going to totally re-do it? Or do you mean you're just gonna redo it for the banner but let us keep what we did and cert what we did?

Well, I know not everyone's favorite thing in here is art, but I want everyone to have a chance to win. So I'm basing it off design and how I think it would look on the front page.
So someone could do things out in paint or scan a piece of paper and it could be the winner, I would just color it over so it's an actual lion.
For the people with Photoshop or some other coloring program, it would still have the same effect. I'll be re-coloring them on my templates for the front page banner and as the "custom" lion.
It's more so a design contest rather than a color-your-own sort of thing 3nodding
I know there are a ton of people here who have brilliant ideas, so I want to see them! whee

Submission!Name: Rhea Hyuga Submission Type: ANGELIC TEEN PLZKTHX!!!! About Submission: Well, i've had this girl in my mind and on paper for a while, back when i started PL actually. She is based on African designs. I got to thinking after i saw this thread, PL is a shop based in Africa. So, why not have an African-based lioness on the front banner? She has calm, earthy colors, but is not boring, nor is she crazily covered in designs. I had messed up on her eyes which is why they're blank and filled in, but i picture them being a beautiful light brown. The designs on her back legs (which are obviously missing) would be reddish-brown dots going up in a swirl. The edits on her are not necessary but i had added them because they seemed to appear in almost every book on Africa i read back then. The silver dots above her eyes are silver piercings.Ignore the names on the sides cuz i was brainstorming for names but i still have not found a suitable one. sweatdrop Picture:

Submission!Name:Reverie Rose Submission Type: Lioness, Normal About Submission: Origianlly I though 'man it would be AWESOME to have a kimba one of these!! Then I thought...that's not original at all! And as much as I would go nuts to have one, if it wouldn't win that way then why bother? So I started off a girl with the same basic idea as that and well...her colors changed and I kept adding stuff until I forced myself to stop xD didn't want to over do it X3 hehe. The cub form is to show details that you otherwise wouldn't see on the adult version. like how her paws are colored and such. I call her Tanahi ^^ Picture: These are pictures I did for it. I am more visual than descriptive so it's easier to just show you than to describe it for me XD Here is the lioness I was lazy and didn't feel like shading XP I can if I want but I figured if you would just redo it anyways IF it wins then there isn't much use in me shading X3 hehe  and a cub version  Sun version(click to enlarge)  And an angelic version XD  and these are banners I used the pictures for to make as examples
