The warm air of the daylight hours began to move in over the savanna. It was dry, as was common for this time of year, and the heat chased out the cold rather quickly. What had once been in shades of gray and deep green for the night now reflected yellows and light greens by the sun's rays.
Hunger scratched at the inside of the stomach of a small cub. His consciousness was clouded by the darkness of sleep, making he hardly aware of it. Slow it disrupted his nap and he awoke with a shake of his head, his dark ears flopping about slightly. Sitting up, he let out a silent yawn, his jaws stretching wide. Glancing about at the others sharing the living space, he crawled outside, doing his best not to wake them.

She felt the warmth of fur beside her, and she snuggled closer to that warmth, treasuring it. Pain exploded in her side and she yelped in pain, glaring at her sibling who was looking at her through disinterested eyes. "Cuddle up with someone else, oh sweet, sweet, Kira." The other female cub said, before rolling over and returning to her sleep.
"Meany," Kira grumbled, ready to curl up to another sibling and return to sleep when she noticed another cub awake. If she was sure... this was Amani. Yeah, it had to be. There was no longer time for sleep, and the cub darted after the other, calling out plaintively. "Waaaiiittt!"

Pink eyes scanned the daylight, small body quivering as two other cubs emerged from the den. Alone, he was. Teruno's spotted fur quivered in the wind, curiosity overwhelming his possible 'better' judgement as he slinked closer to the other two. His light paws scratched at the dirt, letting the scent of overturned earth fill his nose.

Amani paused at the entrance of the den, looking back to see his younger sister. She was from the newest litter, and he himself was almost an adolecant, to tell the truth. However, this did not make him more confident or seek authority. He was just himself...non-confrontational Amani.
He waited for her to catch up, his ears drawing back slightly, as he dipped his head downward. He then moved out into the full sunlight, feeling it hit his fur and warm his bones from the child of the night of the Savanna.

She was not left panting after she caught up with him. Amani had been kind enough to wait for her and lessen the distance she had to travel. She followed him out into the sunlightly, lightly licking behind his ear in what seemed to be deep affection. She did not hate anyone, and he had been nice enough to wait for her!
Suddenly her attention was distracted from Amani as a scent reached her nostrils. She whimpered at the unknown sent, trying to hide behind her larger brother. Kira could almost hear the footsteps of the unknown visitor, and her ears were pinned back to her skull. "Amani..."

 Laying in the shade of a weathered old tree, Meka watches the other Hyena's, head rested on his front paws. His checkered fur rustles lightly in the breeze as it snuck through the tall grass surrounding the small mound the tree was growing from. A sigh excaped her maw as he watched the others.* 'great, more young pups'

Teruno's small head lowered itself as the two other pups became clearer. He didn't want quite to be seen, but he knew they could more than likely smell him. Darn, that was right. They could smell real good too. At the female cubs speaking, his voice rang out in a high pitched whine, irritated in tone. "No, I'm Teruno."

Amani felt uneasy, having never seen this other cub before. He didn't smell like his family either. He only hoped that the little one wasn't prone to fighting. Though he was rather scared himself, he remained infront of his younger sister loyally, watching Teruno. As Teruno complained that his name was not Amani, the black and violet cub remained from speaking, not wanting to stir up trouble by saying it had been him she had been adressing.

There was comfort in Amani, in the way he stood in front of her like a loyal sibling. Kira was sure that everyone else was still asleep, and from her slight fear she had failed to notice Meka. Her attention was mainly focused on her brother, and the cub that was called Teruno.
"M-my broder is Amani..." She said, her voice a wavering slightly. "I-I am Kira, and you a-are T-Ter-Teruno." Her body seemed to shrink down closer to the ground, and she spoke up once more. "D-do not hurt us..."

Sighing again, Meka shifted before raising to his paws. He walked slowly down from the mound in search of his father. He was hungry still and needed food, but knew he wasnt able to bring anything of good size down as a jouvenile. More little pups around was another reason pointing him towards the thought ofbreaking from the clan.

A small cub groaned as a shrill yell interrupted her sleep. Drowsy brown eyes opened slowly as the hyena glanced around her at the lump of sleeping fur, noting that there weren't as many siblings laying about as usual. Realizing that she would never be able to get back to sleep now, Luyu stood and stretched. Shaking herself once, the cub walked away from the rest of her family, towards the figures in the near distance, knocking paws and tails out of the way as she went.
She wrinkled her nose, there was an unfamiliar scent on the morning air. She quickened her pace, trotting forward until she had reached the scene of the action beside the others. Her older brother, Amani stood in front of a cowering Kira, who she raised an eyebrow to. Hearing her littermate's plea she snorted lightly.
"And I'm Luyu," she announced, her posture straight and confident, why was Kira groveling? Even if the stranger attacked, there were three of them and one scrawny cub on the other end of the line.

"Oooooooooooooh." Teruno said, blinking with a blank look on his face, as if he wasn't getting the message. At her plea, Teruno was confused. Hurt them? He should receive a nice thrashing if he even snapped in the wrong direction, by the looks of the different hyenas around watching him. he had just wanted to meet the others and now one was scared and the others were watching. He shifted from side to side uncomfortably, lowering himself close to the ground in a submission to the others.

((Perhaps I should make Dathe a little like Simba...? Oh, such a bad little boy xd ))
The cub's growl came through his lightly clenched teeth as he voiced his distaste for being awakened so early in the morn. He stood to stretch and pattered out with the others. If it was one thing he hated, it was being left out of the fray.
He could see his littermates with some other hyenas he had yet to get to know. He was still just a small cub, after all, and he couldn't be expected to knowo everyone so soon. It simply couldn't be done.
The cub padded up to Kira and Luyu, his intense limegreen eyes watching Teruno a little warily.
"Who be yous?" He was a straight-forward cub, never afraid to tell the truth and more of a daredevil than anything else. He eyed the grey cub curiously. "I'm Daffeh... Dath... Daffeda..." He shook his head in frustration. "Daffeda... Dafffe... Dafffedar... DATHEDAR!" He ended up screaming to himself. He would have flushed pink if he could, but as it was, he pulled himself up taller. "I can't say my name." He said proudly. Truth was truth, and that was that.

Amani just stood where he was, neither moving away nor going towards the strange cub. He'd much rather mind his own business, but he couldn't let his sister get frightened, so he remained. Besides, it seemed Dathedar and Luyu had enough personality for all of them. He shifted slightly, his ears remaining in a slightly pulled back position as he observed what was going on.

Kira turned her attention to Luyu, seeming to not like the other hyena too much. But, anyone was welcome into the situation at this time. Kira didn't want to have to face this strange cub alone with only Amani at her side. Sure, he was older than her, and bigger, but she didn't know him all too well and wasn't sure how this whole situation would turn out. So, anyone of her family was very much welcome.
Teruno, if she had his name correct, seemed to not be too fond of the situation either. He was getting lower to the ground than even she! It gave her a bit of confidence, and she straightened herself out slightly, though ears were still pinned to back of her skull in a show that she was still wary of the other.
"He is Dathedar," Kira filled in for Teruno, in case the other cub hadn't heard the correct name over the constant mis-pronunciations. Dathedar, though, was a cub you could love. She liked him, maybe just because it took him so many times to say his own name. It was funny, and it provide a good relief of humor to them all, especially to Kira.
"I should call you Daffey, though. Isn't that cute?" Only for a few moments did she forget completely about Teruno, and that was only when to tormed Dathedar.
