Post 3; Contest, Prompts. Contests will be run weekly. From Sunday to Saturday of each week, feel free to submit as many prompts as you wish. I will read through them and pick the top 3-5 to be polled. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Prizes will be assigned per Contest. If you are found to be voting for your own prompt, you will be banned from the contests. Quote: Current Prompt: You've been hired as a writer for "Late Show with David Letterman." Your first assignment is to come up with a witty, nonpolitical Top Ten list for him to read on air. Max: 500 words, Min: None Example: Top Ten Ways to Flush your Life Down the Drain: 1. Play World Of Warcraft or other MMORPG- Not only do you waste hours of your life, but you waste around a hundred dollars a year. Etc. Preliminary judging will be based on how well you followed the instructions, and use proper English. Prizes: 1st- 600g 2nd- 300g 3rd-100g Deadline: 11:59pm PST, September 21st, 2008 Quote: Extended Prompt: Take a recipe and annotate it. Give it a twist, make it funny, or make it factual it is all up to you. Max: 750 words, Min: None. Example: Too Good For You11 large apple, cored 6 carrots, top removed 4 celery sticks, including leaves 6 iceberg lettuce leaves 20 English spinach leaves 21. Cut the apple carrots and celery sticks to fit in the juicer. 32. Using the plunger, push all the ingredients through the juicer and into the large jug. 3. Pour into glasses and serve with ice, if desired. 41 My first of many problems with this recipe is it’s title. What exactly does Too Good For You really mean? Is it so good I shouldn’t drink it? Is it beyond my ability to drink it? Does it taste too good for words? It sure doesn’t look too good for words, the full page image accompanying the recipe looks like bubbling mud. 2 And it’s not a wonder it looks like mud. I’m not sure about anyone else but I highly doubt that one apple is going to change the taste of 6 lettuce leaves and 20 spinach leaves. I may be a fan of salad, but not in a blender with an apple. 3 Which reminds me, I bought this recipe book “Smoothies- Best-ever Cool Drink Recipes” because I had just bought a blender with the nozzle dispenser because I figured I could make some cool smoothies. Little was I to know that around half of the book, if not more required a juicer and not a blender. It was a “bargain” book, but I am still skeptical. A lot of the drinks sound good, but with no juicer they are just painfully teasing. 4 Lastly, how stupid do they really think I am? If I make a drink I am going to pour them into glasses, and if I have ice on hand and wish it, I will serve it with ice. How else should I serve it? Now I am curious. If they have to give me the correct way to serve it, how could I do it incorrectly? Judging will be based highly on narration. Some consideration will be paid to spelling and grammar. Very little consideration will be paid to the recipe except in context to the narration. Judging will be owner picked due to two running contests at once. Prizes: 1st Place: 600g 2nd Place: 300g 3rd Place: 100g Extended Deadline: 11:59pm, September 21th, 2008

Post 5; Contributors and Black lists.
I cannot keep giving prizes on my own, I am not made of money and I have my own goals to meet. Any help will be greatly appreciated and will be posted here where everyone can thank you (unless you choose to remain anonymous). Items and or money are all welcome, just place "Writing Prompt contest" in your trade subject so I know what it is for.
Contributors: Anonymous-1000g + assorted starter items
Blacklist: You are not going to even be considered for the contests for some reason or another. You may only be on here for one contest, you may be on here for life, your sentence will be next to your name. I hope no one will show up on this list.

lets hope. Both into the writing and the donating. I'd prefer not to have an entry fee because that discourages people.

Yeah, I can see how that could be a problem. Well, if any gold is needed I can help supply.

yay! Anonymous donations ahead ahoy! Hmm, quick question for you scourged, or anyone else reading this... Should I change the writing prompt if no one applies for it? Also should I just erase the writing prompt for now and bring it up again later, or post it as a past prompt?
