After a long day of being bombarded by various discount/reward cards for the coming college year, I figured that seeing as most of us seem to already be in college or coming up to it, we could post the best deals.
(If you could specify which country you're in that'd be a plus)
UK:
Blackwells Reward Card: Specialist Book Suppliers: 1 point for every £1 spent, at 100 points get £5.
Waterstones Reward Card: Large Retail Bookshop: Unspecified discounts.
NUS Card: Discounts at a variety of high street retailers, days out and insurance.
HMV Reward Card: Entertainment Retailer: Around 10% discount off everything.

here (in South Africa), most places offer a student discount of up to 10% on presentation of a valid student card. you can get student discount for most concerts (rock/pop/etc or classical), and most long-haul bus services offer a good student discount. i'm not sure about ALL the retailers (mainly since i hardly ever do my own shopping) but a lot of shops do offer discounts for students.

In Queensland, you can get 20% off at Burger King...if you're a UQ student. Haha. I'll let you know for real when I get to uni next year.

here in the u.s. all we get is a student discount at movie theatres. or if we show our student i.d. at some of the places right around campus, you can get discounts or free things. that's about it.
