Here's all that I have right now-Finally got through to doing this, whew!
Image may be a bit big and the witting messy, but I'll explain the gist of it- +Okay first off, behind the logo I was trying to recreate a bit of the Gaian feel with our symbol, I guess, which is the chibi wing thing. In trying to keep with "maturing" or the site, I made the blue a bit more muted.
+For the Announcements, I stuck the exclamation mark there as a reminiscent of the little bubble with the ! in it to bring that back. Basically, I want it to jiggle when you get something new and make a sound alert or something because I find that I won't notice when I have something half the time until I actually check 30 minutes later.
+Put a cloud thingy under the avi. Meh, just some weird idea I had *shrugs*
+Rock puppy! I know he's there during alerts and stuff around the site-why not have him kind of "bark" (hence the yellow sound image thingy that you see)and wag his tail every time the announcements change?
+Circles at the corners indicate some kind of small graphic that could be put there (though can be removed I guess, if it lags the site.)
+Link List! This was something I kind of ripped off from Go-Gaia waaaay back when-bring this back to take care of those sponsors who want a link to their stuff, I guess, or just use it for it's original purpose back then-to link to other anime/manga/game sites.
+Color scheme! No, the background will NOT look like a sherbet rainbow thing like it does there, but instead, those will be the general colors used on the site. (more examples to come in the near future)
If there was anything that was unclear, icky, something that needs to be removed or if you have any other graphics you wish to propose as part of the layout, post here.

It's cute. I like it much. I really like the Gaia wing logo cause it brings back a bit of that anime feel more than the plain white Gaia logo that is currently there. And I like the little cloud under the avi but it might be too much like the Cloud item. I would suggest something else like...............well I'm drawing a blank xP but I like the idea.

I quite like this idea. As long as the navigation remains easy on any screen resolution to use I have no complaints.
Classic Style + Modern Gaia easy navigation system = Hell yes!

Maybe no cloud, since there is a cloud you can use for your avatar. But other then that, I like it. Sounds pretty practical.
You should make a petition for it... see what others like. Then maybe we can have something everyone agrees on and can settle the differences with?

I still like the old gaia page better (before the navigation bars were there was just icons in the right hand cornner) but your idea is a heck of a lot better than the facebook mimick we are stuck now. The Idea to mix the old with the new was a brillant thought. I would be a lot happier if they changed it to what you have displayed than this facebook thingy. I love the gaia logo it brings back a bit of the anime feeling to the site. I like the colorss in the background it would be cool if they changed colors every time you went to the page.

Designing another one for them, this is a great idea!!
What viewing is this, the home page?
For the my gaia I really miss the friends because it made me remember to talk to them, and esp. the thread subscriptions.
I could totally settle for a mix between the old and the new, as long as they change the worse parts...

Dreamer NiGHTS I quite like this idea. As long as the navigation remains easy on any screen resolution to use I have no complaints. Classic Style + Modern Gaia easy navigation system = Hell yes! Yes. Definitely. Although, I dunno if I'll check in much longer; I got interested in Solia thanks to this guild.

Yeah...*sweatdrop* it's only the home page view-I can't even sort out the mess the My Gaia is right now without it somehow raising hell...*wince*
Generally, I was thinking that maybe too much top-heavy navigation wouldn't be so great for My Gaia so I thought of moving it to the side-maybe splitting it up on both sides? (have a few links to one side and have the others on, well, the other side? But that "overview" or whatever graphic that takes you to the main My Gaia thing with the feeds has got to go really...it's creeping me out slightly.)
Hmmm...I'll draft the My Gaia ideas up next today.
But do you think that maybe the other two mini features (the moving rock puppy and the exclamation point) would actually lag the site? I know there definitely has to be some kind of way to shrink the amount of transfer each image would have on a computer's relative connection speed and the rate at of how much information is transfered, but hmmm...
Yeah, I'll do a petition really soon as soon as I got the gist of what I think needs some moving around. Just maybe the My Gaia redesgin and I'll be ready to go. Thanks for all your imput so far, you guys and gals.

Haha, sorry! I mean the My Gaia navigation tab things, not the actual main ones that we use! (meaning, not the Home, My Gaia, Shop, Community, World, Games one but when you get to the My Gaia page, the one below that, which are smaller and gray in color.) Sorry if that wasn't clear.
And yeah, there are things that I do like with the layout of Gaia as a whole, just not some of the things they've done to the May Gaia...
But like I mentioned sometime before, even with Clearwire at regular speed/DSL, the site still lags somewhat, especially on that page. I didn't have any lags with the last one, even when I used dial-up on someone else's computer(well, maybe I just got lucky that day..*shrugs*) Now, hardly anything will load on someone's computer with dial-up on it.

Okay, sorry for the lack of neatness slightly in this one...I was a bit nervous working on a changed My Gaia and this probably will only work if the My Gaia doesn't have all those drop-down links in the main tool-bar (as you'll see later though the pic and explanation)

Basic stuff, I guess. Haven't really gone though with actually modifying graphics within the tabs, but I'm already wondering if this works.
+Again with the wing theme here.
+I wanted the page to look more fun and dynamic, which is why the main body of the whole thing is in a different shape. Maybe it's cool, maybe it's just another dud, but I think too many boxy-ness shapes can make it a bit boring and generic.
+Also, yesh, bringing in Rock Puppy along with Gwee and Kiki. Think it would be too much to add Momo and Coco because of graphics issues maybe, but could there be other's that would fit the page better...? (I was secretly wanting to put a Grunny in there, but oh well...)
+The about My Gaia section is for new people and old peoples alike-reminder for oldbies and some basic stuff for the newbies.
+Miscellaneous box-NO FEEDS! I was thinking more of maybe something related to the "history" of the old Gaia, something cool for the new people and something to be nostalgic over for the oldbies. (I.e. Old screenies, quotes on old events in the past and such...)
If you have any ideas for this area, post away!

I like these ideas =) See gaia? Its very easy to balance between old and new if you just try >[]<
I really like the fact you added anime back in. And colors. Not blindly bright and much better than the ones now =)
