So there's this girl in my school. Okay she's short. Okay she's chubby. And okay...she's failing half of her classes. And she cuts herself. I don't care about that. If you cut yourself, whatever...you wanna do it...you like it...and unless I was really worried that you were going too far...I'm not going to bust you on it... Unless your an attention whore. "My dad threw a chair at me!" Yeah? Then where are the bruises huh? "My dad punches me and hurts me!" Yeah? Then where is the evidence? Where are the cuts and brusies? "My dad HATES me!" Yeah? Then why does he tell me when I ask about you that you're doing great and that he's glad you have a friend like me, with a smile on his face that never seems to falter everytime I ask? How come you tell EVERYONE you ******** meet that you cut yourself! Dammit! I don't give a s**t anymore if your 'dad hates you' or he 'punched you' and 'you don't wanna show me the bruise cause your embarassed to!'
Sometime's I just wanna punch her in the ******** liar.
Sorry I had to let that all out... Just wondering...does anyone else have this problem? And if their are people out there like this girl...please don't take offense...I don't hate you...just her...

My dad used to beat the ******** out of everyone in my family, before we left. The catch? He knew how to not leave bruises. He was also very good at projecting a second personality, a nice one that he used to convince people that he was a good person, one that went away entirely as soon as they were gone, to be replaced by his real one. The point: If someone's parents beat them, they don't necessarily leave evidence. And just because they seem like nice people, doesn't mean they are. Lies keep the world running smoothly, but some people do it more effectively than others.
..... Also. Because I don't like hearing it. When I used to cut myself, it was not because I liked it. That's not why people do that. It's actually a powerful coping method. Essentially, you take out all the frustration and emotional pain you have built up without hurting anyone else or breaking your s**t. Yeah, it hurts, but s**t, that's the point. Convert emotional pain into physical pain, and then the physical goes away.
Although I will say attention whores annoy the ******** outta me. neutral

I know a lot of people can beat their kids and cover everything up and I know people can fake it, but I've known her dad for a couple years, even before I met her even! He works at a drugstore near my house where we shop a lot, and he's got pictures and stuff of her in his wallet and newspaper clippings everywhere from when she's won medals for swimming. He seems like a loving, caring father...
And as for the brusies...she's told us that she has them...but she won't show them... She also has said that DYFS [The Division of Youth and Family Services] has been involved in her household seven times...and they haven't done anything about her dad...
And I know what your talking about...I used to cut myself too, and when she came up to me and was talking about how she cuts herself, almost bragging [I'm serious] it hurt that she was doing it to get sympathy...
She always tells us how she's tried to jump in front of trains and stuff...most people want to keep that on the down low, but she tells anyone and everyone she talks to...
It's annoying...
[I just haaad to get that out of my system. *sigh*]

Sounds like a wonderful fun person. neutral
My mom works for the DFS, by the way. She works in Child Services. She's the one who comes to people's houses and takes their kids and such.

Being around people who frustrate you is one of the worst situations you can put yourself in. I think I know what you mean. I can't stand them either. She may not be lying, but you should definitely tell her openly about how you feel or she won't stop, they never do. Then tension builds, and that makes everything else hell.

There are a few girls like that in my life. I can't stand how they talk sh*t but don't have the evidence that they talked about. If there are bruises, show the ******* bruises! I don't care if you're 'embarrassed by them' 'cause you certainly aren't embarrassed enough to shut up. Oneday I got so P/Oed about it I told her the excacted words I wrote (bad idea Tami, you were 5'2'' [now 5'3''] and she was nearly 6 foot weighing 150lb). Basically, I got beat up pretty bad but hey, she doesn't talk to me anymore! lol

My friend is like that. She doesn't cut or anything, which is good.
But she's got the whole "Look at me, look at meeeeee!" thing goin' all the time. She doesn't give a damn about anybody but herself.
