The Tale Of Mika And Kazuko.
Okay, so. First thing's first. This plot is my baby. It took me a while to come up with it, and it's been brewing in my mind forever. And so, if you steal it, or use it in any way, shape or form, I will hunt you down. And destroy you. And no, that's not a typo. I won't just kill you; it'll be much worse. Okay? Thanks. Oh, and the same goes for all of the characters.
The Plot-- The world is not as we know it. Controlled by scientists, not politicians. And each city is enormous, spanning thousands of miles with schools, homes, and other buildings. But in this world there are only four cities such as this, each of these cities millions of miles apart from the others. The only thing in between these enormous cities is wilderness- raw and, well... wild. None of the cities control these areas, and the only human beings in this forest are the few tiny and scattered camps of those who do not wish to live a city life anymore. Oh, and was it mentioned that each of these cities are not exactly friendly with eachother? No. They would be considered enemies. All pitted against eachother, with no allies, no treaties in sight, no nothing.
The city of Rikei is easily the largest of the four cities. And this is where the story takes place.
Up high on a tall hill overlooking the enormous city of Rikei is the Science Compound. A big, intimidating, plain white building with high walls reinforced with both five-inch-thick steel and a few scattered and barricaded windows. There are four wings of the Science Compound, each dedicated to a specific area of importance. The first is Technology. The second is the section where all matters of 'government' are dealt with. The third, Medicine. And the fourth, Research and Development. Out of all four wings, the fourth is the one that is known little about. Everything that happens in the fourth wing stays secure in there, and all the scientists work in shifts of two weeks (and getting two weeks off in between), sleeping in the fourth wing for the duration of their shift. Currently in charge of the scientists working in the fourth wing is a man named Keitaro, who has no wife or family. Just a younger sister named Mika. Before him was his father, who has since died.
But what the public- and the scientists outside the fourth wing- don't know is that the Research and Development department is just a cover for what is truly going on. Out of fear of being attacked by one of the other three cities, and out of the desire to be the best city on the planet, the scientists have decided to begin conducting odd sorts of experiments. Human experiments. The experiments, at their most basic and primitive stages, consisted of taking large amount of children under their wing and keeping them in the Fourth Wing. Attempts were made to mutate the children, but the children would always die shortly after the experiments began. After many trail-and-errors, the scientists of the fourth wing began to grow more knowledgeable towards what they were doing. And so, after four years of searching for a baby born with a unique quality they had come to call "elastic DNA" (in actuality it was a mutation which left the child with incredibly weak DNA strands- ones that could be easily manipulated without causing the child to perish or suffer), the scientists finally found one- a four week old baby girl who had yet to be named. One scientist was sent to retrieve her and kill her family, and came back to the compound successful. And thus their first real experiment started, and they named her as such- first creation, or 'Daiichi Soushi.'
And that is where and when it all started.

&& Forever In My ♥Heart "Ah! Uhm.. well... that'd have to be Mika. Without a doubt!"
Story Of My ▬ Life™
Around the time the subject 'Daiichi Soushi' began to show signs of resenting the scientists, they began to search for a new subject just in case Daiichi were to get too out of hand, or if she were to fail. The boy they found was incredibly ill, his DNA strands so weak that they were practically coming apart at the seams. In fact, if not for their stepping-in it was without a doubt that the boy would have died within the next few weeks. However, there were a few differences between him and the previous experiment. One, he was a male. Two, he was much older than Daiichi had been when they obtained him (she a few weeks, he five years). Three, he already had a name. Kazuko.
Of course, the scientists needed to dispose of Kazuko's family as well. They went to his small home and killed his family and then proceeded to burn down the house, plucking Kazuko from the flames. A father had been the only family member they had killed. They thought nothing of it at the time, in fact, they believed that it had been a family of just Kazuko and his father. But they had been wrong; Kazuko had a mother. She just worked all day long, so the scientists had never caught a glimpse of her. Then Kazuko was carted off to the home of the head scientist of the time, Keitaro's father. He was kept their and treated as if he was their own son until Daiichi's death, when he was approximately age fifteen. Then, Kazuko was carted off to the Fourth Wing and put into cryogenic see-through chamber, and his mutations began. (All of his memories of living in that house were erased, and so were the memories that Mika had of that time.) Instead of the 'Assassin' gene they had weaved into Daiichi, they chose to do something different with him, as times were changing and there was no longer need for so strong a being on the planet. No. Instead of making Kazuko an 'Assassin' type, they began to weave him back together as a 'Guardian' type. One with the ability to calm and protect. To hold enormous strength, but to only use it in order to protect others, and not to harm anybody.
Unlike the testing with Daiichi, everything went smoothly. Kazuko's body accepted all of his new traits and abilities with no hitches, and when he was allowed the few privileged hours weekly to watch a pre-selected movie, he never attempted to escape. But, then again, he wouldn't have had a chance to if he so chose. Ever since the incidents with Daiichi the Fourth Wing had beefed up their security. All scientists took shifts of two weeks on the job, two weeks off. Whenever Kazuko was to be transported to the white room in which he would watch a movie and exercise, a steel visor would be placed over his eyes, and both his hands would be clasped together behind his back in reinforced titanium holds.
But most important of all- if ever Kazuko's eyes were to open, the red security button is to be pressed instantly. This button causes a 'lock-down mode,' bringing five-inch-thick titanium plating to enclose Kazuko's cryogenic chamber and forcing all windows and doors to be closed with the same material. This is not because they believe Kazuko will try to escape, but rather it's because of the cold, murderous look in his eyes whenever he opens them.
Thê ¤ Wåy ¤ Mÿ Mïnd Wørks
Kazuko's personality is a bit on the odd side. During the initial escape from the compound he could only be seen one way: murderous. However, Kazuko is not a mean person, by any means. In fact, he is probably one of the most caring and considerate people to ever exist. Unlike the first experiment, Kazuko's DNA mutations did not leave him with a resentment for anybody or anything, if anything, it left him more compassionate than normal. After all, these scientists had saved his life, right?
So, Kazuko's personality while not actually trying to get something done is easily described in one word: goofy. He can be clumsy, looks over things easily, trusts people too easily, and never thinks twice before doing something. But Kazuko is no idiot, and he is quick to know when a dangerous situation is at hand, or when it is required to not act like his normal, goofy self. These situations are when the mutations he was given shine through the brightest.
Åll This Weîght I ›Çarrÿ ♦
Here is a list of the abilities, or 'powers' that the Scientists had given Kazuko, each with a description beside them. There is justified reasoning behind each of the abilities given to Kazuko: the scientists thought long and hard about it. They didn't just randomly shove mutations into his DNA.
× Omni-linguism. In order to obtain full knowledge of a foreign language, all Kazuko has to do is listen to a single sentence of the language he wished to learn. Then, the rest just comes to him.
› Superhuman Intelligence Self-explanatory? Kazuko chooses to never use his full intelligence, unless he finds himself or others that he is supposed to be protecting in danger.
× Abnormal Strength. Note that it is not 'superhuman strength.' Kazuko's strength level is above that of normal humans, but is still not enough to be considered 'super-human.'
› Empathy This is the ability to be able to easily read the emotions others are going through, making it easier to decipher whether or not somebody is deceiving him.
× Night Vision.
Failed Attempts
These abilities are ones that the scientists had scheduled to give Kazuko, but because of his early escape, none of them were fully developed. The scientists do not know whether or not Kazuko actually has any of these powers, or if he can use them.
› Domination and Mind-Control.
× Time Manipulation.
› Teleportation.
× Accelerated Healing.
&I ›Don't‹ Think That ›They'd‹ Understand This is probably the most important part! Due to the odd way Kazuko escaped from the Science Compound, he was left severely mutated. As will be better explained in the first post, a vat of toxic substances was toppled over, and Kazuko was splashed by it. The result was not death, as was the case with the scientists who were splattered with the same substance, but rather a very odd type of mutation that none of the scientists had ever seen happen before: scales. The picture to the right is before the mutation, by the way. Kazuko was left with dark scales of this color in splotches around his body: under his left eye, a trail snaking around his neck, down his right arm and spreading out across his chest, and a big area of his left thigh. Other small spots include on the bottoms of his feet and on his left arm.

Story Of My ▬ Life™
To her father, Mika was a miracle child. Her mother had been weak ever since some timeafter Keitaro’s birth and right before she was born, her mother had gotten extremely sick. The doctors said that Mika had gotten all tangled up in the womb and by some miracle they were able to get her out of the womb safely, but her mom didn’t make it. All of the stress made her moms sickness worse and she was unable to recover.
After that, Mika was always a weak child. In the early years, she was always fainting and was getting fevers at least once a weak. Her father thought it might have been a variation of her mother sickness given to her through the genes she was born with. As she grew, though, it went away little by little but never completely. Even now, if she puts her body under too much stress she’ll get sick, just like she always used too.
Mika grew up in the dark of all of her father and brother’s operations. They had told her that her father was a scientist, yes, but they didn’t tell her what his job description included . . . basically experimenting and torturing innocent children. But what no one but her father and brother knew was that Mika, herself, was the inspiration of experiments. Her father thought that if he could find a way to manipulate genes safely and make “perfect people” he could then use the technique to change Mika’s genes and free her from the sickness that took another of his loved ones.
After her father died, her brother immediately took his place and she had got used to living alone. She would always do her best for her brother’s sake. She hates it when he worries about her so she learned to cook, clean, and she learned how to live very independently. But along with this, comes the loneliness. Living in a big house all by herself got to her some times. Sometimes she’d sleep in her parents bed; her brother didn’t allow her, or anyone, to go in there. He felt it was best to keep it the way it was since they died. But she didn’t care. She did what she could to ease her pain.
If that wasn’t enough, when she was 6, she skipped three grades, first, second, and third. It was like her brain was making up for her weak body. And throughout high school she was teased for looking so young. But she never told anyone this . . . not even her closest friends, though she didn’t have many. And not even her brother knew of the trials she had been going through.
Thê ¤ Wåy ¤ Mÿ Mïnd Wørks
Mika cares, sometimes too much , for things. She’s smart and independent, but that doesn’t keep her from wanting the benefits of a shoulder to cry on. Even though if she had one, she’d probably care too much about it and not want to bother that person. But there are also times when she’s carefree and acts dorky. That’s one of her true sides that only a very small number of people have actually seen. In school she keeps to herself and around people she doesn’t know to well, she’s quiet and isolated, but deep down, there’s a side of her that’s kind, carefree, out-going and warm that’s trying to make it’s way out.
†Wøuld You Like Tø Know »Møre: Just a few other facts about her and I'll add to them if I think of anything else: ♦ Mika's father talked to her right before he died, telling her that if something ever happened, she was to use the rifles that he gave her. He put them under her bed so she knew where to find them. "You are to use them for anything that scares or threatens you," he said. What she didn't know was that he had given them to her just in case one of his experiments had gotten lose and came looking for her.
Åll This Weîght I ›Çarrÿ ♦
No, Mika doesn't have any superpowers like Kazuko or the other characters can, but she does have a few talents she keep locked away: → Mika had a powerful brain and her father taught her how to hack computers way back when and she has been utilizing and strengthening that skill. → Let's just say she can shoot a target down pretty well. (She uses the gun her father left behind for her.)

Story Of My ▬ Life™ Ryouta comes from a long line of elementals that has lasted since before medieval times, though he’s not aware of it. His ancestors used to be highly respected and very close to the leaders of the world, but as time went on, science became more important and people became less and less interested in ways if magic. And so the Kinsei family lowered and lowered in status and they fell into the backdrop. No longer accepted as the great wizards they were, they, too, turned to science.
But no one in the family line ever lost their love for their magic powers they had, always gathering on special occasions and creating amazing spectacles. Everyone loved their abilities; everyone except Ryouta’s father.
You see, Ryouta’s father used to love his magic just like everyone else, but there was an accident. Ryouta’s mother was unable to do magic. This wasn’t uncommon, as Ryouta’s family often fell in love and were married to “normals”, which is what they called those who did not command such power. Anyway, at one party where the whole family had gathered, some of the wizards had had a little too much booze before the main event and when they began, the magic got out of hand, and instead of causing beauty, it caused destruction. Sadly, Ryouta’s mother was caught in the flare and died. His father blamed and hated magic ever after, never using it again, hating the very thing that used to bring him joy.
This happened when Ryouta was two, and when Ryouta was six, he, to his father’s dismay, discovered his own powers. Yes, Ryouta had a very scientific mind, thanks to his father, but he also loved the magic that coursed through him. His father, furious, forbade him from ever using it.
But with Ryouta’s curious mind, there was no way he was just going to forget about the amazing things he could do. He continued to practice in secret, never telling anyone and it was ten years before anyone discovered his doings. But, unfortunately, when he was sixteen, his father got suspicious and discovered his hideout. His father then gave him a choice, magic or family. He loved his family and at first that’s what he chose. He stopped training himself in secret and focused on his studies, but after a while, he couldn’t deny the part of him that loved the elements and he started practicing again. This time however, his father found out more quickly and immediately disowned Ryouta.
And thus, he was on his own, working at birthday parties and restaurants to make money and living in an old abandoned house, from the old days, that he found on the outskirts of Rikei. Amazingly, he was happy with this life, even though it could get very lonely for him sometimes.
Things changed for the magician, however, when he was eighteen. He happened upon a strange girl, passed out in the sewer system, which is what he used to get around and practice his magic. He had a sense that she wasn’t like other people . . . maybe it was because of the huge gun laying beside her; but, anyway, he took her to his place and let her rest. Turns out, she was a government experiment that escaped and just needed a place to be herself . . . who knew, right?
Thê ¤ Wåy ¤ Mÿ Mïnd Wørks It’s ironic that Ryouta is very scientific, since he uses magic, but usually he thinks with equations and with patterns. He’s a nice guy and very generous, especially, when something is done for him. He understands people, and is a very good judge of character. He’s laid back, and though he may worry over things, he doesn’t show it.
When he does get angry, he gets angry. He can get very very serious and when he does, he isn’t the greatest person to be around. His powers grows stronger and though he can control them, he can’t control himself. Usually when this happens, Daiichi knocks him out, thus calming him down, solving that problem.
Åll This Weîght I ›Çarrÿ ♦
› The Elements Ryouta can control all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air; plus lightning and ice, and other byproducts of the elements.
› Telekinesis One other thing he can do is move things without touching them, that is, with his mind. It is very rare to find a wizard that can master this power, but, without knowing he could, Ryouta started teaching himself this technique, and with a little luck, he was able to learn more then he ever thought he could.

What the ******** are you talking about?! I don't like anybody, and there isn't any shitty magician stuck on my mind!"XXXXXXXXXXXX·Why· Ï ♦Âm♦ What Ï ♦Âm♦ © Daiichi's life both began and ended in the Fourth Wing.
At the age of exactly three weeks and five days old, her family was murdered by the scientists and she was taken from her home, transported straight to the Science Compound where she began almost immediate experimentation. The scientists at this point in time were very wary of the other three cities; a war expected to break out within a year. So, the city was in need of fighters. And thus Daiichi came to be. She was programmed to be an assassin; far stronger than multiple heavy-weight champions combined, and an accuracy percentage of a blazing 100% when using her custom made gun. (Gun pictured above.)
While Daiichi was being tested on, she broke free of her cyrogenic chamber multiple times, each time resulting in at least one mortality of a scientist. She was born a natural genius, and knew what the scientists were doing to her. That what they were doing was wrong. And she hated them for it. One of these breakouts led a scientist to fend for his life and attack Daiichi, resulting in a long scar running directly down her spine. After that particular attack, Daiichi's ability to train and watch selected movies in the 'white room' was taken away. And the DNA chaning continued on relentlessly in this manner, day by day Daiichi was given more abilities and no chances to use them.
Daiichi's life continued on for three years with no access to go outside the cryogenic chamber and all the DNA Sequencing went smoothly, but on April 17th, during a routine injection of a new strand of DNA, Daiichi's heart stopped beating, and her life ended at the age of 17.
Or did it? Daiichi was buried in an unmarked grave in a grassy hill outside the Science Compound, her colossal gun buried beside her. The scientists had no more use for it; no human or human beside Daiichi would ever be able to bear it simply because of it's sheer size. Two years later, Daiichi awoke from a death-like sleep and managed to dig her way out of whatever black tomb she was intelligent enough to know she was enclosed in, then unearthed her gun. She was nineteen now; two years of her life had gone by without her even knowing. There was also one big difference with her now and the her before being buried: her heart still wasn't beating. And overall, her heart not beating is Daiichi's abnormality. She ages like a normal human and be injured like one, she bleeds and is able to bear children. (At least, judging by the menstrual cycle she experiences monthly.)
Pissed off at the dumb-a** scientists, Daiichi was close to just killing them all off, but decided to venture into the town, where she received many stares, not only because of her outlandish outfit but because of the size of her firearm. After sleeping in the streets for two nights (much to her disdain), Daiichi ventured into the sewers, where she met a magician named Ryouta, who took her in.↓Hørmønâl«°»«°»Imbâlân¢e↑Daiichi's personality never has been, and never will be very pleasant. She hates all things feminine, and all things masculine. She actually doesn't really like anything in particular. As she had been close to completion with her mutations, the scientists had already begun to alter her personality, but they had only completed slight modifications when she 'died.' As a result of these alterations, Daiichi has almost zero trust towards others, and had a hard time learning to trust that Ryouta was not out to harm her, even after living with him for weeks. These alterations also caused her overall personality to sour. And, just as the song listed above, Daiichi can really just be a b***h, simple as that. However, even somebody programmed to be as harsh and indifferent towards everything such as Daiichi has a few redeeming qualities.
However, what those qualities are exactly, and whether or not she ever actually demonstrates them has yet to be discovered. &These→♦←ßurdens→♦←I ßearAlthough Daiichi is technically a 'failed experiment,' she was much more close to completion than Kazuko was at the time of his escape, and nearly all of her abilities had been mutated into her DNA. In fact, only two abilities were unable to enter her DNA, the first one listed under the 'failed' list being the reason her heart stopped beating.
☼ Abnormal Reflexes
♫ Omni-Linquism
 ☼ Superhuman Strength
♫ Abnormal Intelligence Quotient This was naturally obtained; Daiichi was born a genius. Her intellect is such that it can even be rivaled with Mika's.
☼ Pheromone Manipulation While she is able to manipulate her own pheromones in order to make her attacker less viable to assault her (by becoming attracted to her), this is an ability she detests and will never, NEVER use under any circumstances, as she believes it is is "too ******** feminine."
