Well, as of now this is one of my all time favorite scifi novels. It was written by Frank Herbert and published in 1965. It inspired many popular and influential movies, films, and other literatures and is the origin the popular scifi Sandworm monster and almost any desert planet in scifi culture.

Dune also is the reason for the forming and naming of this guild. I was inspired to recreate this guild for the discussion of the Dune series and it was expanded to all fantasy and scifi culture. And Melange is the ultra-addictive spice that humanity has become dependent upon to heighten human minds so they can replace sentient machines to which humanity destroyed in Butlerian Jihad 10,000 years before the beginning of Dune.

I dedicate this forum to this great scifi universe and all questions, comments, and speculations on its inner workings.
