I'm going to have to quit this guild.
My most recent post is in the Breaking Dawn forums, but this will be my last.
I'm sure you've all heard the news by now. If you haven't, it's on her website.
The following paragraph is my rant/reason for my indefinite absence.
I am incredibly sad due to the loss of Midnight Sun and although I refuse to read the draft of Midnight Sun that Stephanie herself has posted under the horrible circumstances, I am now VERY tempted to 1) go ahead and read it since she's scrapped it and 2) completely boycott her other works. It's not as if I'm interested in The Host anyway. I am disappointed with her because she does seem to be taking out on the fans because of something that happened that had nothing to do with her REAL fans. I'm a real fan. I would never DREAM of reading any leaked copies, nor did I even read the first chapter she posted herself! She should have given this decision alot more time. It deserved to be published! I'm sorry, but to me, this decison was just too rash and it shows how undedicated she is. How can she possibly expect us just to give up on a whim like that? I'm perfectly fine with her putting Midnight Sun off until she's ready to continue it. I'm not expecting it for another couple of years at least because I, as an aspiring author, realize how long it takes for something so great to be perfected. I, however, would NEVER have expected her to use terms such as "indefinitely." When is that? In ten years? When she's old an gray? Does she really think we will be dedicated to her for that long? The term "awhile" would have been sufficient. This Twilight saga goes so much further beyond Stephanie now. It's the fans that keep it alive and going because we love it. Without us, would Twilight have been such a success story? Without us, could there have ever been a sequel?

I kind of agree, but I kinda don't
i think she's really dedicated to the story but, as she pointed out, she said that she would be fine if it all ended because i mean she wrote the story because she wanted to; it was fun
and i don't think she expected us to give up on a whim or anything
i think that the reason she said she wasn't sure about publishing or not is because something that was really really important to her, something that basically lived inside of her head was posted without her permission and without it being done; it was taken away from her; it was probably like something was ripped out of her and, i know that if it was me, i would be really really sad and hurt that someone would do that and i don't think that shes taking it out on the real fans; she was just stating the facts
and since, you said you are an aspiring author, how would you feel if something you felt was very much a part of you was suddenly taken away without your knowledge and permission? i don't blame her. i know i wouldn't want to publish a thing after something like that happened. it's like who can you trust anymore? you already put something out and you were really vulnerable about it and now something happens and makes you feel like you shouldn't have put anything out there in the first place.
and, i don't know about you, but i will be VERY dedicated to her for a LONG time because i love her work and she is an amazing writer
and she ultimately keeps twilight alive herself because she wrote it and it'll be in her head and, since twilight and the other books are already published, they will be alive anyway

I agree too! and sort of don't I won't read her other works but I will read Twilight a bunch of times and have to be content but I am dissappointed with her attitude about Midnight Sun though, yes she feels betrayed and hurt, but after some time she will recover and I'm just going to wait for that. But for her to just give up like that. Ugh! how could you do that to us!! crying
