---------------~~~~~~~~PALEMOON~~~~~~~~---------------- A little ways down from Ria is and old, once beautiful mansion the students used to stay the night in for fun. Until things stopped being fun.
Let me tell you a story child!
Palemoon Mansion was purchased by a Mr. Jacob Pale in the late 19th century. Though the place was beginning to fall apart, Mr. Pale saw a genuine bargain, and with some hard work it would be a fine place to live. He had to put in quite a bit of money, and certain parts had to be rebuilt entirely on the exterior. However, he soon had a wonderful home, and the attention of a woman. Then he would soon after have the attention of several children as well. Though he himself had experienced a strange noise or two, he did not listen to the rumors that he had heard from several townspeople about his home.
He would soon learn he should have heeded their warnings.
He discovered from searching the house that it has a grim past: murders, suicides, accidents, sadness and other places around and near the mansion that held terrible history. He disregarded it all as superstition and paranoia. Until he had his own experience with it. While passing his child's nursery, he heard crying, but not of a baby. Of a woman. He entered the room to hear the sobs turn to frantic breathing, then as he approached where the sound was coming from, it erupted into a loud scream. Over time he would hear piano music, and his wife sometimes heard the mumblings of a man. This eased up over the course of a few years, but it never stopped.
Somehow, Jacob convinced his family that this was all happening due to them giving in to the paranoia. To try and ease his wife's anxiety, Jacob threw a party in the newly restored ballroom. There was a large organ there that couldn't be removed but he knew if covered up, it wouldn't distract everyone from the ambiance. Mrs. Pale was exited, and many from the town came to see the restored Mansion. Though this whole party was really just a front for Jacob to get a priest to bless the house. He told his wife that he would be back soon to dance, he was just going to fetch more refreshments. Though he was really going to see the priest in the foyer. Soon, everything went to hell, perhaps literally.
As Jacob and the priest went about the house with a bible, saying prayers and flicking about holy water, it caused all the spirits to stir, not wanting to leave. The house began to shake, The priest was flung from the top of the stairs to the bottom, Jacob almost flung over the rails of the staircase. In the ballroom, the tarp covering the organ was blasted away onto the guests as loud music erupted from the old instrument. The music seemed to cause insanity amoungst the guests, they all died in there all from horrible causes. And from the looks of their hands, eyes, ears and faces, they looked self inflicted.
The only survivors were the priest, and Jacob.
They both made it out, but the priest was the only one able to tell the tale, Jacob reentered the house shortly after the experience and was never heard from again._________________________________________________________________________________ But that's all in the past right? It most likely...just a story.
The mansion has once again fallen from former beauty, the grass in the front yard has turned into dry cracked dirt, but tree's with black hanging branches still stand.Though the paint grew dirty and the windows have become clogged up with dirt, the house appears intact. It's extremely large with two stories, many rooms along with a small ballroom, attic and large cellar that may still have wine in the back. I will, 'I' being your disembodied narrator, explain these area's as I get to them. Also, whenever their occupants decide to open some stubborn doors.
____________------------------ First Floor----------------_____________ --------------------Foyer---------------------
Once you get past the creaking front gate, up the stone path to the front door and inside you'll be in the foyer. Upon entering you can see a tall staircase leading to the second floor a little ways ahead, some have reported a woman in a black dress sometimes descends the stairs that disappears upon reaching the bottom. No one's sure who she is, actually.
In this area there are several paintings, a grandfather clock over by the stairs and a few old fancy chairs made from oak and leather on the left side of the room. on the side of the staircase is a door leading to the cellar. Hanging from the ceiling is a tarnished chandelier that occasionally sways mysteriously.
You have several thresholds to pass under to get to other parts of the house. To the right you can head down a hallway that leads to the ballroom, with a small guest room along the way. To the left leads to a bathroom, the dining room and the kitchen. Then near the stair is a door that leads to the basement. Not afraid of the dark are you? On the opposite side of the stairs is another door to the family room. It's being stubborn and won't open though...
---------------------- Bathroom---------------------
The bathroom was added on during Jacob's stay at the house, it's basically all white, as people thought that made things sterile. It's not so clean now, but everything still seems to work. A mirror hangs above the sink, there's a toilet that seems to look like an oak box with the porcelain inside. It's pretty normal in here, the lights seem to work in here for some reason. Occasionally the faucet lets out some dirty water, it's an old house though.
Still, sometimes it runs a little thick.
And...kinda red.
--------------------- Dining Room-------------------
Tall windows caked with dust and dashed with cracks line the wall, tattered draperies further filtering out the little light coming in. In the center of the room is a long table with tarnished silver candle holder in the center. Carved oak chairs encircle the table. On the right wall is a painting of the backyard with a dresser that once held silverware and candles, maybe there's still something in there? To the back wall is a door leading to the kitchen. A previous owner of this house choked to death in this room on a slice of meat. Sometimes while passing this door, people hear someone coughing from behind the door.
Always remember to chew dear reader.
--------------------- Kitchen-------------------------
The kitchen is connected to the dining room and had dirty white walls, spiderwebs litter the corners and wherever something can be clung too. I suppose bugs can still find crumbs, and spiders still find meals. It has wood paneled floors, a old black stove, a island in the middle of the room with old pots an pans underneath in the cabinet parts of the island. There's a pantry in the back, which is completely bare, though sometimes people look inside to find an old cooking knife with an odd stain on it. Long ago, there were many servants that worked in this mansion, sometimes they didn't get along. Some have reported someone yelling at them, then being cut. "So you don't like my cooking eh? LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE THIS."
That was just me, it was very convincing though yes? Ghosts can't hurt you...
That cutting business is all lies I'm sure.
---------------------- First Floor Spare Bedroom--------------------
On you way to the ballroom there is a door that's missing it's...door. Upon entering you'll find it resting against the front wall. The bed's mattress is missing, but theres a blanket draped over the bedpost. There's a dresser and a large mirror in the room. Along with a nightstand that looked like it had a vase of flowers in it it one point. Oh? Are there some in there now? How peculiar. Inside the dresser is a box full of sheet music, an paper with music notes written on it, it's extremely complicated. I wonder who used this room? Sometimes, people hear the mumbling of a man in this room.
------------------------- Ballroom------------------------
Aha! Now this place is rather active. Or it was. It extremely large and has tables to the far side of the room, but it has heavy decorations, fancy red draperies that have grown tattered an dark. The floor has lost it's shine but was once quite beautiful. Many came to dance or listen to musicians. In the back is something large covered up by a tarp, it's a organ that an artist used to play on along with a piano. They say he went mad trying to come up with his masterpiece.
After that though, Jacob Pale held his famous party here, where everyone danced and laughed away the notions that this place was haunted. Now though, some say that there are nights when the candles light up the room and the spirits dance again. Laughing and inviting the living to join them in their merriment. I could barely call that haunting myself! Won't you stay for a dance?
I hear Mrs. Pale has been quite lonely all by herself...

____________------------------ Second Floor----------------_____________
Upon ascending the tall staircase, you will find a door in front of you, and hallways to your right and left. There's even more doors and rooms as you walk down these hallways, do you hear that? It sounds like you're being followed.
Maybe it's just your imagination.
Although from the looks of it, all the doors are locked.
Peculiar.

____________------------------ Basement , Etc.----------------__________
Upon opening the door to the basement, you are met with an odd smell and cold air, if it wasn't cold enough in this house already.
Dare you descend into the darkne- Oh the candles are lit.
It was completely dark a moment ago wasn't it?
Anyway,as you climb down the creaking staircase you find yourself in a large area with stone flooring. There are many wooden racks filled with wine bottles along with some wooden chests filled with all sorts of things. The items down here are only rivaled by the amount of spider webs.
-------------------- Dungeon-------------------
Hidden behind two spare racks is a doorway with a stone staircase. Careful! The steps are slippery. Wouldn't want you to fall. At the bottom is what could only be described as a dungeon, skeletons still hang from their wrist's via chains from the walls and there are all sorts of torturous devices. Also down here are a few tunnels leading to who knows where, containing who knows what. Maybe a way out? Maybe certain doom.
Try not to get lost!
There are some peculiar sounds coming from them too, rattling, shuffling.
Moans?

Ah hell, why did this always happen? ' This isn't Scooby Doo for Christ's sake. We can't just split up to cover more ground and think we'll be fine.' Thought the dark haired telekinetic, though from what he had heard, this place wasn't as active as he had heard. Not one strange sound or weird things to be seen, just creaky floorboards and squeaking door hinges. Which was disappointing because the outside looked so promising. Ah well, they only just got here, and it wasn't even nighttime yet. Maybe Fox was back in the foyer? Church headed back up the right hallway yelling for his partner "Fox? Foooox?"

Kiora hadn't the faintest idea why she'd ended up coming to this place, but she had, and now she wasn't entirely sure where she was. She'd entered calmly, and still looked rather calm, though a rather dark scowl had clowded her features as well. But otherwise she wasn't showing much emotions. She peered around and then sighed, running her fingers through her blonde streaked, white hair. Her other hand was clasped firmly around the long naginata she had propped against her shoulder, the tip of the blade reaching a good nine feet into the air. She huffed a sigh, standing in the middle of a hallway, perking up a little as she heard a voice.
Her head turned, and before she knew it, she'd started walking. Someone was calling for.. a fox? She frowned again, eyes lightly narrowed as she moved towards the drifting voice, rounded a corner, and suddenly saw its owner. She reacted instantly, feet spreading into a stance as she pointed her long weapon directly at him, fangs baring. "Who are you?" she growled, her tipped tail flicking slowly behind herself, three horns glinting oddly in the dim light.

" FO- Oh hello." He said, about to yell once more before he was on the wrong end of a pointy weapon. Then becoming for more interested in who was holding it. She was tan with white hair and yellow streaks. That was cool. Horns and a tail? She must go to the school, how lucky for him. "My name is Church, What's with the weapon? You don't want to point that at me right? She might be a bit difficult to deal with, but if she could life that thing then he wouldn't want to mess with her. Where the hell was Fox?

Kiora's eyes narrowed, deep green with their black slits focused intently. The weapon remained lowered, unyeilding as she eyed him distrustfully. "And why wouldn't I aim it at you?" she snapped, obviously on edge. She edged backwards despite herself, eyes darting around briefly before returning to him, not having found a way out. Or rather, she wasn't sure of what direction to take. And she couldn't very well ask him, now could she? He was probably after her. Another trying to use the method of gaining trust first. Well she wouldn't fall for it again, not ever. Therefore, she found no reason at all for her to state her own name in return for his. "I advise you to leave," she hissed, all her defenses well in place.

" Because I'm such a nice guy?" Was the only thing he could think of. If he couldn't talk her out of it, he might be able to telekinetically yank that thing out of her hands and see if that might level out the playing field. Then maybe they could talk this out. "Leave? But I wanted to explore this place, I haven't even found my friend yet. You haven't happened to have seen him have you? About your height, green jacket with kinda long brown hair?" If she wasn't shot or in a screaming match with him hen they probably hadn't caught each other.

His first comment earned him quite the blank stare from Kiora. Was he serious? The weapon wavered lightly, tip lowering a bit as she gazed at him, trying to figure him out. He was obviously after her life. Or at least, that's what she believed wholeheartedly. She assumed that he wasn't attacking yet because he was going to attempt the warming up tactic that she'd faced before. But, there lay his problem; she had faced it before. And there was no way that she'd ever fall for the same trick twice. She'd fixed him with a stern look, eyes narrowed, fangs still bared, until he mentioned someone else, and once again she looked taken aback. Though, it was more nerves this time than confusion.
There... are more of them?
She abruptly took a couple steps away from him, shifting so her back touched the wall of the hallway, her body turned in a way so she could still hold her weapon towards him. But her eyes were darting around rather anxiously. Usually they came one at a time, but there were rarer cases where two or more decided to gang up on her. Was now one of those times as well? "Gr... I haven't! Now go away!" she cried, inching back, body sliding against the wall.

Okay, now she was starting to worry him. Maybe it was the house? OH! Maybe she'd seen something and got freaked out? Still, Church lowered his tone since he was curious about what she might have seen, but was more concerned that she was freaking out. "Hey, you look nervous. Do you need to sit down? You haven't seen anything out of the ordinary in this place have you?" Where the hell was Fox? Even though he would be no good with people, he'd be nice to have if things got really bad with whoever he was dealing with.

Kiora paused at the sound of his voice, noting that he'd lowered it, for whatever reason. Was he trying to sound soft and make her think he wasn't after her? Because he was! And she knew it! Her eyes were a little wide though, nerves at their peak now that she knew there was another, yet she didn't know of his location. "Go away!" she shouted at him again, the three foot blade waving rather wildly in the air towards him, at the tip of the six foot pole. Though it was obvious the movement was being spurred more by panic and unease than skill at the moment.
Her back was still set firm against the wall, her feet sliding over the ground as she shuffled away from him, putting more distance there to seperate him. And her back stayed flush, refusing to part with her defence. This way no one could come up behind her, right? It didn't help that she wasn't really paying attention to where the wall ended as she edged along it. And of course, this rather quickly ended with disaster. She looked, and felt, so rattled that she wasn't paying attention to the fact that the hall turned to another room that met it. She kept inching, leaning into it, and then suddenly.. it wasn't there anymore. She yelped, toppling flat onto her back, dropping her weapon in the process.

Church leaned back when she flapped her weapon at him, then started to feel bad for he as she inched down the hallway. Then from the opposite hall a flushing noise was heard. Church turned to it to see his friend exit a bathroom. He turned back to Kiora and watched her inch down the hallway. " Dude, where the hell have you been?" He said, eyebrow cocked.
" Taking a piss, can you believe the plumbing still works?" He said, pointing back to the bathroom. Then direction his attention to Kiora who fell into the room. "Who's the spaz?"
" I have no idea, she's cute but she's really paranoid."He said scratching the back of his neck." Either way, she's got that halbred thing so I think we should leave her alone for now. Come back later."
" We just got here, she should leave!" Fox snapped.
"I know, but things aren't really active right now, we can come back later."
"Ahhhrrr. Fine, I'm hungry anyway." He said, walking over to the front door and turning the knob, finding that it won't turn.
"What's the matter?"
" The damn thing won't open." He said twisting and yanking on the knob, irritated.

Kiora looked stunned for a second, then jerked herself up into a sitting position, only to slump a little further than she would've liked. She winced and rubbed at the back of her head, supressing a small whimper as her hand reached for her weapon again. There were two of them now, ready to gang up on her and- ...leave? Why would they leave? Her guard was down! ...no. No it wasn't, really. But.. they might think that. She never let her guard down. Yeah...
She shook her head lightly to clear it and pushed herself up to her feet, using the staff of her weapon to rise. She leaned on it lightly as she glared at the two of them from the entrance to the hallway she'd fallen into, waiting for one to strike or attack. But it did really look like they were turning to go. Hungry? She.. felt kind of hungry too. Ah, but she couldn't appear to be following them. She'd have to find an alternate way out or just wait a while to- locked?
She blinked a couple times, grip tightening on her naginata, before her eyes narrowed. "What is this..?" she hissed, her voice low. Her mind automatically assumed that the mention to leave was just another ploy, and they'd locked the door on purpose to make it seem like they'd have to stick together. Or something. Either way, she didn't like it, and was growing rapidly more upset and irritated. Not to mention, she found the fact that her cheeks were faintly pink from her fall to be extremely embarrassing.
"Wh-why don't you just go ahead and attack me, like all the others?!" she cried suddenly, jabbing a clawed finger at them. "There's no point in dragging it out!"
One had to wonder why she wasn't attacking them instead, and was rather waiting. This was becuase she knew that there were innocents who didn't intend to harm her, but she'd never seen one before. Or at least, never interacted with one before. So the idea seemed very farfetched. But, she was at least aware of the possibility. Therefore, she tried not to land the first blow.

Fox ignored Kiora and pulled as hard as he could, then his foot to the wall for some leverage. "Agghhhh!" He shouted in frustration. " Church, just rip the sonuva' b***h off it's hinges. I don't want her pointing that thing at me anymore." HE was going to shoot the lock, but that would just waste a bullet.
" Really? Let me see." Church then tried his luck, door would not budge. " Alright then, stand back, if I can't tear it off then I'll try to crush it, must be pretty old." Fox took a few steps back and Church got into a stance, right arm outstretched with palm flat up but slightly tilted. The door moved slightly, and as church's fingers started to curl into a tight fist it began to shake harder and hard. Until Church's teeth were gritted and a bead of sweat rolled off his forehead into furrowed eyebrow did he stop then return to a regular standing stance. " Yeah, that things on there good. Too good. ...Something weird is going on."
