I said only the depression, cuz mania is fun, as long as I'm not crazy psychotic.

Same answer as you. Except, I'd also take out the severe psychotic mania and keep the hypomania and mid-range mania. I don't go depressive much as it is. Three weeks after I quit taking meds, my psych said the meds must be working cause I was looking sane. Heh.
I could probably do okay without meds for a few months. Past that, I don't know. But if I could have just hypomania and mania, I'd be thrilled. I love manic.

I said no. Being bipolar is part of what shapes my life. It's something I was born with. It's wierd that I said no, because there have been times when I've cried my eyes out, wishing I wasn't bipolar. But I don't want it to go away entirely. I like being on meds that save me from the really low depressions and the dangerously high manias, but it's still a part of who I am.
And I definately wouldn't want to just lose the depressions and be manic! The manias can be just as deadly as the lows! And yes I said deadly, because bipolar can be deadly.

And I definately wouldn't want to just lose the depressions and be manic! The manias can be just as deadly as the lows! And yes I said deadly, because bipolar can be deadly. I know how deadly it can be. Kurt Cobain was bipolar, which is one reason I believe his death was a suicide. And, things I do when I'm manic can get massively dangerous. At one point I was going 95 miles an hour down a curvy hill at night. The only lights on the road were my headlights. That's bad enough, but I have control driving and I know what my car can do. There was no traffic at all. But, the thing that made it deadly was that I was doing it high-stakes, meaning, no seatbelt.
That, and I don't know my own limits when I'm manic. 5 shots of Tuaca + 50 mg non-extended Ritalin on Christmas Eve... I have no alcohol tolerance whatsoever. I was talking to people asking them what a pulse of 250 meant. Ack. Yes, bipolar is deadly.
I actually like the cycling sometimes, even though it annoys me other times. It kept me out of the Army, which was my life goal for a long time. But hypomanic and manic are like a legal high. I like the invincible feeling, and I usually don't go manic to the point where I do stupid, deadly things.

First off, Im not a fan of any medication, Also, as much as being depressed sucks, I ******** love it. When Im not depressed, Im bummed out because I love my depression. If I could be cured, Id chose not to be, I am who I am... and no ******** pill is going to stop me.

If I could be cured, Id chose not to be, I am who I am... and no ******** pill is going to stop me. I'm the exact same, except I love the manic more. The only reason I'm still on meds is that if I drop em I get kicked out, and I have nowhere else to go.
