The valley is very large, covering an area roughly 1/3 the size of the United States. Natural obstacles on all sides keep it fairly isolated from the rest of the world.
There are currently four great nations taking up residence in the valley. Nearly all kom'giet belong to one or another, even if they don't know it. Rogues are often tolerated on the borders of territories, but not to stay for long without belonging.

The Torbu are a strong, family-oriented, group located in the southern mountain range just east of the coast line, and not extending past the great rift. Their southern most border fades into the high altitudes of the mountains themselves, while their northern range extends just beyond the tree line at the valley floor. They endure harsher winters by holding out in deep caves located in the mountain side.
They are often the easiest for most beginners to play. Personalities are often oriented to honor, family, strength, and perseverance. Other things to note about this group is a s
tronger genetic pull to large knobby horns, thicker fur, and the realms of Earth and Stone within the Mag'Ud circles of discipline (See Mag'Ud)This group has few qualms with anyone, but does not allow outsiders to reside in their territory for long. The only exception to this rule being the Ca'saan.
And on further note, it is from the Torbu that the current leader of all nations is derived. However, this political power rarely comes into play.

The Lu'Befri are the only nation developed almost purely be genetic difference. This being that 95% of them have bird-like wings which allow them to glide, and to fly on stronger currants. They're bones are hollow allowing for a lighter weight. Their diet is also mainly fish, kelp, and other sea things
Territory for this group extends only along the coast from the southern mountains to the top, and several smile islands out in the bay. They allow visitors to come enjoy the beaches, as long as they don't take up any long-term residence.
This is a very laid back group, and very easy to play. T
hey tend to belong to the Mag'Ud discipline of Water. Breedings taking place between two Lu'Befri members (Either both winged or one not) have an extremely higher chance that all offspring will have wings, compared to a winged pairing elsewhere. It should be noted that the young of the lu'befri are often born in the small caves covering the cliff face. Those who are unable to fly are taken, once weened, to a small settlement at the top of the cliff to be raised by the community. Once old enough, they may choose to leave the Lu'Befri to join the Torbu or another clan of their choosing.

This is a female dominated group which exists in the southern mountains from the Great Rift to the west to the Great Lake to the east. The area is mostly sandy and rocky, with much volcanic activity closer to the mountains. In this society, a female is allowed to keep only one male per litter. Extras are to be expelled at a young age from the territory by right of abandonment or death. For this reason, many male kips are discovered in the Torbu's western border, just on their side of the rift.
Males who remain within the Ramus clan are generally kept as breeders. They will align themselves to one female, a pair of females, or a group of them. In this respect, it is almost like a marriage. In this, he will be in the chosen female's care. If another female should like to use him for children, she would have to ask she who owns him. Male roles in Ramus society, outside of sex/breeding, often include caring for the young and guarding the home.
This is a harder to role-play choice, but offers many wonderful and deep opportunities.
Kept males are often more passive and gentle, with females being stronger in will and spirit. Mag'Ud influences tend 'tward Fire and Earth. Males who are able to join the Mag'Ud are often given more rank in society, and allowed to leave and return as they please.
Outsiders are generally not welcome anywhere within the territory.

There is little known about the inner workings of this group, though there seems to be some ranking system within it. Their only true territory exists around a small like high in the northern mountains near the Great Mountain itself. They are the only clan, by right of tradition, allowed into ANY territory. Only the most sacred places of any nation may be bared from Ca'Saan passing.
They vary in nature, though are not allowed to cause true violence of any kind. They are not allowed to side with any other group in case of war, choosing by tradition to retreat to their home territory until it is over.
Members of this group are often found staying with various family units offering services for shelter and/or food. This may include story telling, babysitting, crafting/mending, and other such things.
Males of this group who travel into Ramus territory are treated as a sexless being for all social standing. They have neither the power of females, or the right to be owned like Ramus males. It is allowed for a Ca'Saan male to breed with a Ramus female, though this is frowned upon by Ramus society due to strength of genetic quality.
Due to their travels, Ca'Saan hold no higher probability twards any element if they become Mag'ud.
