I'm currently working on a graphic novel. I don't want to post images of it just yet, but I just want to describe what I'm going through.
I've done the synopsis so far... I have a script as a reference for the 8 pages I want to send to Dark Horse.
At first I was like "YIPPIE! THIS IS GOING TO BE SO EPIC! I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE IN MIND!!!one11one"
But a few days later, still trying to get past page one, I can't make up my mind on what to do. Some questions I keep on asking myself: Is it a good idea I'm doing this digitally? Maybe I should've drawn the panels and sketches traditionally and then do the rest digitally. Is the type of coloring I'm using right? Is this character's head too big? Too small? Is that table in perspective?
Just stuff like that.
Is this normal? Is the first page always this hard?

actually when i did a comic book i had no problem until i got to the last few pages
personally i would definitely sketch out the concepts on paper since its just easier for me than it would be to sketch it out digitally, and i mean even if you dont end up scanning it and going off of that having the whole story in a little stack you can leaf through at any time really helps
but it took me a lot of playing around to put everything in the right spot like how close/far people were and playing with panel dynamics and stuff like that so keep at it

I have had the same issue.
I drew rough layouts, got advice, tweekend them. Drew the characters all in pencil, starting with the most fun bits first....
I scanned it and started colouring but can no longer be bothered, I finished the story in pencil and its boring now... I can't find the motivation to colour the whole thing...
