Angra is a Brazillian heavy metal band that's been active for the last 17 years. Starting in 1991 ( heart ) they have touched on several metal subgenres including power, progressive, speed and neo-classical metals.
I am somewhat biased with my opinion of this band, as I both own all of their cds and belong to the Angra Guild... but this band really is great regardless of my bais.
Alright, to get things started, my favorite song by them comes from the 1998 album Fireworks, and is titled Metal Icarus... there is this really sweet riff about 4 minutes in, and the song in itself is a great speedy piece. The lyrics are somewhat slower sung though, giving it a nice contrast...
Plus, who couldn't love a song themed around a Greek myth? heart Honestly. ^-^
