Okay I've seen previews to the movie, and although I loved Cedric Diggery, but he is NOT Edward. When I first read Twilight, Edward was the perfect man. And I fell in love with him. But honestly Cedric does not fit my mental picture of Edward, and there's no way he could be as graceful and charming as Edward.
I am interested in seeing who plays Jacob.
mmm...Jacob.

i felt the same way to at first, but if you watch interviews Robbert Paterson researched his part very well. that and its impossible to have someone be the perfect Edward. he's just to Perfect.

Personally I feel that he fits Edward perfectly. I kinda pictured him like that when I first read the book.

The guy who plays Edward fits rather well, though his hair could have a bit more red . . . oh well, no ones perfect right. But all in all he is a pretty good Edward.

thexxdrunkenxxsailor Okay I've seen previews to the movie, and although I loved Cedric Diggery, but he is NOT Edward. When I first read Twilight, Edward was the perfect man. I am interested in seeing who plays Jacob. mmm...Jacob. Ew, Jacob!! Just kidding. (Really, though, I hate Jacob). Robert Pattison is NOT Cedric Diggory. Robert Pattison is Robert Pattison. He cannot be defined by a single role (especially if he's not going to get any kind of award for it) and should not be referred by that single role or ANY role he's played, for that matter. He's a person. He's got a name. He has a right to work on any other film he gets hired for. I don't know anyone who could be as graceful, charming, and perfect as the actual Edward Cullen. Sadly, Edward Cullen does not exist except in our minds and hearts. So, you should probably stop trying to compare him to someone who PORTRAYS him in a movie because you're just going to be disappointed. It's impossible to be completely accurate. It's like... Meeting Jesus. If you met some guy on the street that claimed he was Jesus, you would probably not believe him until he cured a blind man or something. Even then, you would most likely have all these questions about why he doesn't look like Jesus or how it's possible that you're meeting Jesus, etc. All in all, I'm sure Robert Pattison does a great job and will come off as graceful and charming in his own way. After all, he's an actor. That's his expertise.

I don't find Robert Pattison a great Edward.. Edward is too perfect.. For Jacob, the person acting as him is Taylor Lautner. I really prefer Steven Strait to act as Jacob though..

The movie just came out, well it came out a while ago like four days but nvm that, it's all sold out, it was sold out six days before the movie and i was too late to get a ticket. Everyone i know has seen it and won't stop talking about it, they're like: It's so awesome, oh man, it's so awesome! cry By the time it's un-soldout it may be out of the movie theaters. eek Oh well, the positive thing is that it leats i have money from not buying the ticket for the movie. . . . i guess.
A day after i posted i'm just editing . . . i saw the movie last night!!!!! It seems rather well, i liked it. The scene with James and Edward fighting was fatastic. I found it funny what Bella did before she got hurt. All in all it was pretty amazing.

I found out about the movie before I read the books [I saw the sneak peek on the Penelope DVD]. For the first few months afterwards, everytime I saw 'Edward' [Rob] I cried out, "CEDRIC!"..and slowly, it changed to everytime 'Cedric' [Rob] flashed on screen I'd squeal, "EDWARD!!!!" [and consequently whoever was in the room with me would jump]. I was also one of those people who didn't like the idea of Rob as Edward. Granted, I didn't know the series very well and still had Rob as Cedric in my head. But I fully embrace Rob as Edward now, especially because he did so much to get into character, and he DOESN'T think of himself as perfect in anyway, similar to Edward.
Not to pick fights or anything, but I think people who say 'Rob isn't a good Edward because he's not good looking enough' [etc] are just silly heart . Of course there isn't going to be anyone that's going to perfectly match the characters! They're FICTIONAL! I think the casting director did a fairly good job, and I enjoyed the movie very much, pending a few changes due to artistic license..
