Ridiculous I know it may seem, but when I was putting together my outfit for Brighton Pride this year (I was in the parade, yay me!) I realised I didn't have a petticoat. As I was going as a Lolita doll I couldn't very well go without one, so I used the closest thing in my wardrobe - which happened to be a tutu. Don't laugh - it worked extremely well and as long as nobody looked up my skirt, the difference wasn't noticeable. Plus, a petticoat's around £40 whereas my tutu was £12. 3nodding
What I'd like to know is, has anyone else had to use a strange replacement that worked?

Read my stuff?

I was working on a piece and we needed cheap (cost) fabric, but something that wasn't CHEAP. We searched for a while and couldn't find anything in the girl's budget. The project was put on hold until one day I saw my neighbor trying to drag out an antique couch that had a leg broken to the curb. I stopped to help her and while I had my face in the arm trying to carry it, I realized it would be perfect. I asked for her permission to cut the fabric off the couch to use it. Never told anyone wink
