Irushia sat on the soft grass, gazing out over the still, clear water of the pond. Brushing back her long, violet-colored hair, she dipped her feet into the cool water. She began to hum, a gentle melody-one enticing to the soul. Irushia easily swung her feet back and forth in the water, creating a disturbance in the unbroken surface and shattering the sun's reflection. Simple joy lit in her amethyst eyes, betraying to no one her untold secrets of agony and pain. Her long silk gown crept into the water and drifted off from the shore around her ankles, and she thought to herself,
it's moments like these that i miss from life...

Caine walked slowly through the park staring at the ground as he thought.This is not going to end well,the dark ones don't do anything unless they can get something out of it,what should I do?He plopped down on a bench and kicked his head toward the sky"God it's bright."He walked over and hid in the shade of a near by tree.

Splashing the water lazily, Irushia pulled back the hem of her skirt out of the water, the guazy material dripping as she did. A bird flew from the treetops, swooping down and landing on her pale and slender shoulder. the tiny blue-jay chirped merrily as Irushia stroked its pale blue feathers.
"Hello Little Bird. Have you any news for me?" she murmured. As if to respond, the jay let out a long, high whistle; Irushia glanced over each of her shoulders, seeing nothing, and then returning her attention to the bird."Are you sure?"

Caine looked a short distance away and saw the young girl"What is she doing?"He asked himself.IT didn't make sense to him,why would a young girl be talking to birds...And what the heck was the little creature saying.He shook his head and laid back,a small ray of sun light broke through the branches of the tree and he scooted out of the way.

"Really." Irushia nodded, kissing the bird's head lightly. "Go on now, Little One."
The bird took wing, and Irushia smiled after it. She returned her attention to the water, which was starting to warm under the rays of the bright sun. Not wanting to draw attention to herself, she began humming again, and kicked up a small spray of water.

Irushia jumped, kicking up more water at the sudden sound of a voice beside her.
"Oh!" she exclaimed, turning to the man sat beside her."I didn't hear you!"

Feigning innocence, Irushia shook back her long, elegant hair and asked,
"What do you mean?"
She lifted her left foot from the pond, droplets of water raining from her toes and sprinkling over the surface below.

A breeze picked up from the south, and mussed her long, waving hair. She shrugged her slender shoulders and replied,
"You're forgiven."
What does he want? I wonder.... Irushia thought as she peered at him through the corners of her deep, gem-like eyes.
