favorite books anyone?
personally, a new favorite is if nobody speaks of remarkable things by Jon McGregor. i read it really recently and it is excellent. exquisite description, really precise and masterful, some really excellent bits of dialogue. it is a really visual narrative, i guess because he used to make a lot of films, but it works really well. and hey, i love the title - and the story keeps the promise that the title held for me.

I don't know about my favourite book, but I recently finished The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks. It wasn't as gruesome as the reviews warned (at least to me), the story kept going - there was neer a time I had to have a break from it like I do with some books, and the ending...well. I'll just leave it to you to read.

have you read The Bridge by the same author? i started it, i really like the beginning, but once he actually arrived at the bridge i began to lose interest. this was a while ago and i don't really remember why, but it might be worth going back and trying again.

My favorite book is Nick and Nora's Ultimate Playlist though I can never remember the authors. They are making it into a movie with the girl from "Charlie Bartlett" and the boy from "Superbad" and "Juno". (Wow, I'm really bad with names xD) Suffice to say, read the book first, it's truly amazing. It made me feel like somebody finally got it. Don't ask me what "it" is, just read the book.

Np, that's the first one I've read by him. I only picked it up because it was going for a pound in a little bookshop near my holiday place. I might try some of his other stuff though - I'll keep an eye out for The Bridge.
