So I've heard from a source that knows an Admin. that they're going to do the change. They said "eventually they are gonna add some features that will allow you personally to control your own settings as to who you want to view your profile and what not." I dunno about you guys, but to me this feels like Gaia is becoming a business. They don't care about our "feedback" and want nothing but our money. I was thinking of a few things... A.) Plan days where no one signs on. B.) Plan a day no one buys from Cash Shop C.) No one buys from the Cash Shop at all D.) Both A and C until Gaia listens to what we want. Problem with these is that we have to have a LOT of people do it for the impact to work. Anyways, what's your guy's ideas, comments, concerns? -Almyk Edit:Seems like plan D is so far the majority choice. I was thinking we pick 2 days to not sign on once(if?) the full change takes affect. I'll wait to post a new poll about that until it does happen.. until then feel free to keep adding suggestions smile I like the idea of PMing your friends and then having them PM their friends like a chainmail to get info across... Maybe we could start doing that for the guild? One last thing, I have PMed the owner of the "Bring The Old Gaia Back" petition, no word yet from them. AND Lanzer, owner of Gaia lol (Just incase some of you didn't know sweatdrop xD) No word yet from him either. I like this idea- kikirin~sakyomi Why don't we put videos on Youtube?? That not only gets they're attention but millions of people's attention. Post links to in on the petitions on guilds where people are a part of, whatever. Even put a link to it in the chatter box (a thread that someone create), sig, anywhere they can manage without making it too spammy.
Mischief Makers...eh, I'm not sure if they filter that. And you know that-
a) those are youtube vids anyways and b) they use and abuse the users to go freely advertise for them
Shameful, really.
So, yeah, just put vids up on Youtube, link back to them here from Gaia on every possible place, get hits on it, then we can protest at their building. *evil grin* Anyone think they can do a couple of these? Include what people are saying, facts, and a link to the petition and guild? I can do a couple.. it'll be a day or so before I can do them though. PM me if you put one up so I can let everyone know smile

I'd say Plan A is something that I can do very well. (I don't even buy from the Cash Shop anyways) Sooo, yeah...
Plan A for me.
BTW, not exactly registered as a member of the guild yet, but I still want to voice my opinion on the matter.

I think B, probably, to star off with, but porbably C, as well. Just don't buy Gaia stuff, and they have to listen. Truth is taht if all the old members and new members get off, it just don't matter. There are so many people on so offten that it's really not that important to them. If you don't buy from them though, or boycott their sponsors, then they really have to listen, or face havign to sut down.
It's all about money.

I can do option A Tuesday and Wednesday very fine, because I'm going on vacation. And I don't buy from the cash shop. I might even bring this idea to the regular forums.

No offence, but there are many things wrong with those plans.
- [Like I said in the Chat Thread] Gaia would think the lack of users online was just some coinsidence and that the power went out in a large area or something. - We'd need about 20,000 users for gaia to think, 'hey, maybe they don't like something we're doing?' .. Which we don't have. -They've already begun rebuilding the site [hence, the shorter navigation bar] so there's really no stopping them now.
Really, if you want their attention.. You can hire a major hacker to do something to get our point out. Now, I'm not sure what [IE: Getting admin's personal information and using as a threat, completely corrupting all the data on the new custom stuff, etc] you want done, or where you'll find a hacker, but I think it's worth it, if you really want to save Gaia ..

I think we should plan a day no one logs in, and send thousands of emails to gaia, their pr address especially.

I agree, I've had discussions about on one signing on. But would they even notice? even when 10,000 people don't sign on, no one notices. For them to care, we would have to get everyone to not sign in, which isnt going to happen. Same with the cash shop. Although I like those ideas, they wont get noticed.

A and C for sure. If they start getting less money and less viewers, it'll go down. However, this is going to have to be HUGE. We need a TON of people for this to work because there are so many people who will go on Gaia anyway...the only way to make them notice is to have it be a HUGE number of people.

It doesn't have to happen all at once.

The site would be most vulnerable to hacker attempts right when the layout is enforced on us, as Gaia never seems to be able to transfer layouts without major holes. You'd need more than one hacker and a lot of scripts.

Another idea: If you're really that concerned, go to Gaia's main building and protest.. Like really, don't just stall talking like this, go protest now! *EDIT* Good idea Val. xD

Personally I am beginning to think gaia is a goner gonk

I wouldn't mind that whole plan you proposed at all.
However-
Legal issues. And you should know by now, that at least one or two of the programmers have to be hackers. They would be able to trace the hackers and file a legal suit so far up the behind, it would make most of us cringe. How do you think most of them are able to trace IP addresses and do everything they've done so far?
Not trying to knock it, but to do anything and stay in the fight at all, we need to not get banned, you know?
