Do you ever wonder who comes up with all the stories? 100 cases is pretty amazing to me. Where do you think the ideas come from? Real life cases maybe?

I think if those cases were real they'd be more known... besides, it's not that hard to come up with a case. Just think of something rediculous, that can have a plausuble reason, and you've got a murder mystery. You just have to have a very creative writer.
And yea. I'm pretty sure they're just there to torture Monk.

You get easy laughs out of it- so of course. Any new way to make him uncomfortable is something they're gonna add. The mystery is never the main part of the story. Monk is.
