Hotel Teacher Room #2
Cassandra Byrde

User Image

((Credit goes to ShadowOfIce for making this one))
The rooms are made for about five students each, and have tatami mats and paper screen doors, a large window taking up the size of the entire wall with a view over all of Kyoto, and the proper rooms like a kitchen, bathroom, and spare room for them to sleep. Overall it’s got an older style of 1800s Japan, much like the entire hotel, but despite its older feel it’s still a very comfortable room.

[Cassandra enters from the hallway]

Cassandra nodded to herself with satisfaction at her room. Admittedly, there was a lot less blood than she would have liked; and a noticeably absence of any flesh nailed to the walls - but then again, this wasn't her building.

First order of business. Throwing her case into the corner of the room, she unlocked it, and out hopped a rather angry Rashk. You'd be angry too, if you'd been thrown into a suitcase while you were asleep and kept in there for several hours. As soon as he was allowed out, Rashk set about chewing up the nearest chair leg.

Cassandra shook her head. "No, idiot!" After all, she didn't want to have to pay for a bloody chair. Ripping her pocket open, she pulled out the live blue-tongued lizard from her pocket, throwing it at Rashk. He responded by catching the creature in his mouth. The lizard was still twitching as Rashk proceeded to chew it up contently. Oh, how easy to please omnivores are...

Next task was that Hydra. Sure, it would be a bloody small hydra - but a hydra was a hydra. Ripping open her other pocket, which contained a total of five of the creatures, she proceeded to systematically kill each and every one of them with negative energy spells. Then, she chopped off their heads. Artificially lengthening the necks by attaching segments cut from the spine to the stump of the head, she then stitched them together, to create a five-headed Hydra. A quick animation later, and Rashk had a little friend to play with. She nodded as she admired her work, putting the leftover Skink bodies in a small pouch for later use. "Rashk, meet... Rishk. Rishk, this is Rashk." She said with the same evil grin that crossed her face every time she finished such a job.

Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad after all.

Already Cassandra had grown tired of the inside of her room. There was only so much she could do in here with Rishk and Rashk before she got bored; and she was saving the 'Fight to the death' until the last day, and then only if it really came to that. Then again, Rishk's lack of any real teeth or weapons would make it a walkover.

She looked towards the two creatures as she stood up. "You two. Behave. Otherwise I'll rip your spines out, animate your spineless bodies and whip you to death with them." Ooh, that was a good one. She'd have to remember that. That was right on par with 'rip your arm off and beat you to death with the soggy end'.

The two creatures might not have been able to understand her; had they not been her creations. The cyst in them made them inherently understand what she was saying, and they both weakly nodded, afraid of their mistress. "Gut, gut..." Turning around, Cassandra sighed to herself as she walked out. She'd need to find somewhere nice and secluded to make her undead. Could be easier said than done...

[Cassandra enters from the hallway]

As she entered, a small smile crossed Cassandra's face as she saw that Rishk and Rashk, her new little pets, were behaving as she had ordered. Well, to be more precise, they'd actually fallen asleep; but that at least meant that they were too busy to sleeping to cause any trouble that she'd have to waste time fixing. As she walked into her room, the first thing that she did was to remove her shirt and throw it casually into the middle of the bathroom, wearing a simple white vest underneath. She stared at the ever-so-nicely sealed wound where her right shoulder could be. It was... perfect.

Of course, that just meant it would be all the harder to replace without having to do additional work.

Walking over to her suitcase, she dropped to her knees as she began fishing around for the necessary tools and various pieces of equipment that she'd need. First came out the most important tool for the job - the bonesaw. This bonesaw was old. Little more than a rusty old Tenon Saw - but with far bigger teeth - it was splattered with the dried blood stains of hundreds of operations. It was a totally nonmagical, mundane item - but Cassandra loved it for the sheer horror factor if nothing else. Also from the bag came a small bag of blood (Type O), a small handheld electric drill, a scalpel, a pair of tweezers, and a penlight. That was everything - the stage was set to replace that arm. Of course, she waited for Satomi to enter before she even thought about beginning - after all, it would be rather 'educational' - and for once, Cassandra would be teaching Biology instead of History!

[Satomi enters from the hallway]

Satomi had taken her time in entering, feeling very reluctant about entering Cassandra's room. Of all people, she was the last person she really wanted to be alone in a room with... and she was beginning to think of just asking to leave. It was getting late after all, and she really didn't feel like being here in this exhausted state of hers. Still, she would spare the girl her presence a bit.

As she stepped in though, Satomi practically backed against the wall, her eyes lit in brief horror at what she had seen, noticing Cassandra's two latest, macabre creations that frightened her quite a bit. Had it been any other student, most would have ran, but Satomi had seen a lot, and as a scientist, there really wasn't much she hadn't seen. But Hell, this was a first, that was for sure... "Um... what are you doing?" She asked slowly, sounding hesitant as she witnessed Cassandra beginning to remove some of the gruesome, blood-stained tools. Blood wasn't too much of an issue to her, once you understand the human body, there was very little that made her flinch, but when she began to make assumptions on just what Cassandra was about to do, she could only watch in a sense of disturbed curiosity at what she could only guess though...

As they heard talking, Rishk and Rashk woke up, but did little more than look at Satomi with a sense of slight confusion. The Fish-raptor, Rashk, slowly walked over to Satomi, and began rubbing against her foot, like an affectionate house cat. Rishk, on the other hand, began yawning - one head at a time.

"I'm more than happy to take my little cyst out of your ankle." Cassandra began, as she pulled out a pair of bright red rubber gloves out of her suitcase, throwing them in Satomi's direction. After a little bit more rummaging, she pulled out her spare apron. It'd be a bit small for Satomi; but it'd be better than nothing. She threw that over to her, as well. "However, I'm not going to be able to obtain my new arm without someone to hold down the... donor." She said with a slight grin as she said 'donor'. Pulling her needle out with her remaining hand, she pointed into the middle of the room.

"Böse Geister, offensichtliche! Teleportieren meiner neue Körper hier!" She said, the grin on her face spreading further across her face as a small purple spark flew from her pointed finger, into the spot she'd designated. Despite the fact they weren't on the ground floor, several pairs of skeletal hands pulled themselves up through the floor, as if they were crawling out of their graves. The hands didn't seem to go past the shoulder, and once they appeared, they reached down into the floor, and dragged up a body. As soon as the body had been completely pulled out of the ground, the hands dived back out of sight.

The body that was now lying in the middle of the room was Cassandra. Or rather, it looked exactly the same as her. Garbed in a pratically rotten, half-decayed, very basic brown dress. She didn't move at all, just staring blankly up at the ceiling, on her back. She didn't even blink, or appear to breathe.

Cassandra grinned as she picked up her bonesaw, making her way over to her little clone, looking towards Satomi. "What I need you to do is just hold her still. Just keep one hand on her chest, and one on her arm, to stop it from moving while I cut her arm off. Don't worry, she can't feel pain." She said simply. She could try to cut it off on her own - but it's a lot harder to cut a limb from a creature when the momentum of your own sawing makes the body move around - and when that happens, getting a halfway decent cut can be a right pain.

Was... she joking? In a way, Satomi may not have realized it, but she had done things similar to this before, only if you replaced the undead with that of androids and spare parts. But this was different... She could see how this to Cassandra was the same as robotics to Satomi, but unfortunately, these were not just machines and parts, this was real human flesh.

Shuddering a bit at the display of the skeletal hands, she began to wonder just what the Hell she was getting herself in to. Honestly, did Cassandra really think she would be okay with this?? But then again.. did she have much of a choice in the matter either? "C-Cassandra-san?" She said with a stutter, not dibbing her with the honorific of sensei since Satomi didn't see her as much as a teacher as she instead saw a mad doctor. "A-After this... c-can we talk another time? I'm.. we-well... really tired and..." She didn't even know what else to say, not sure if the vampire would even stand for excuses. But honestly, she didn't have the energy to keep herself going much longer, and with her luck, she might have even fall asleep while talking to Cassandra, and this was the last place she wanted to be.

As she tried to think of a way out of this, a cold chill ran up her spine when that weird thing that looked like a mix between a fish and some sort of Jurassic period dinosaur had shown a sense of affection to her. She nearly kicked the thing out of instinct and fear, not really liking the fact that she could feel the scales against her flesh, making her feel rather disgusted from it. What made her feel even more appalled though was the body looked like it was quite literally dragged from the ground. It was creepy enough that it looked a lot like Cassandra, but when she was thrown the gloves and apron, told to hold her down while Cassandra took the arm; it was nearly drawing the line. She didn't have any fear of blood, again she just broke it down to being a part of the body and looked at it from a biological science point of view, but actually being a part in the process of drawing blood and taking off an arm... it was just too much. "You expect me to be a part of this??" She said quickly in shock, once again taking a step away from the vampire as she wanted to back down from this. "I-I can't just... I mean... that's just..." What was she going to say, 'it's wrong', 'it was just too disgusting', 'it was inhumane'? Cassandra probably had done this so many times she lost count, how could should she honestly expect to convince her that in her mind, this was too much for one human girl to handle...

Cassandra's eyes narrowed towards Satomi. As she did so, Rashk noticed this immediately, and took a couple of steps back, growling quietly. Cassandra shut him up by throwing her shirt at him. It landed over his entire body, and he proceeded to look around from underneath the shirt, unable to understand exactly what had happened. Cassandra looked back at Satomi with a sort of annoyed glare. "Do I need to remind you that it is because I healed you that I lost my arm in the first place?" She pointed out. Admittedly, she didn't have any idea that the healing process was going to incinerate her entire arm; but if she did, she probably would've not bothered, watched to see if it did turn out to be fatal, and then simply reanimate her if it was. It was an interesting little experiment, though - and it was certainly something that she'd have to remember to do if such an emergency should emerge.

She poked the face of the body. "This isn't a person at all. It's a clone." She said with a grin. "Basically, I cut off one of my...." She paused for a moment as she had to think - it had been rather a long time since she'd made this. "Feet. Feet? I think it was a foot. Anyway; I cut it off, and then regenerated an entire body from it. It's not alive - it's not even animated. It's no worse than carving up a turkey." As she explained this, she took the bonesaw and tried to cut into the shoulder, to demonstrate her point. The blade barely got more than a few millimetres before the body was pushed by the force of the cutting, and shifted out of the way. The body didn't react; didn't flinch, didn't scream - barely even bled. There was blood underneath the skin, but only a very small amount seemed to actually bleed out of the open wound. "You see? I can't do it with one hand. Besides; you want that cyst out of you, right?" She said with a grin, glad that she had chosen to not remove it just yet. "As soon as I've cut the arm off, you can leave - and we'll continue our little discussion tomorrow when we both have two thumbs."

Damn... even if she wanted to get out of this, she couldn't. Satomi still had her end of the bargain to uphold, and even if she didn't like this one bit, there was very little she could do or say against it. Even if the cyst had been removed before this, she still would have felt obligated to help Cassandra, she just wished it didn't have to be something that would have been so... inhumane. Even if it was just a clone as was claimed, it still left her feeling doubtful, like that didn't justify anything to the point she was trying to make. In the end though, Satomi could see that there was no way out of this. So, with a heavy sigh, she began to put on the apron and gloves after removing her lab coat, not wanting to stain her only good one of the two she had brought on the trip, seeing as how she used her first one earlier today on the train.

"Alright... you've made you're point. Though I would like to point out that none of this would have happened if you never bit me in the first place, so this is your own fault." She said with her confidence finally returning, sounding very sure of herself as she took a moment to adjust her glasses. As she did, the light in the room reflected off her glasses in a way that hid her eyes, giving her a somewhat cold outlook now, her brow arches in a way that made her almost seem angry or like she was glaring.

Taking a more forceful approach than Cassandra may have expected, Satomi walked strait up to the clone, suddenly grabbing it quite forcefully by the shoulders, her actions pretty quick for the moment before she pushed it down to the ground with a single shove. She quickly knelt down and again took hold of it before there was a chance for the clone to get up, grabbing the arm that needed to be cut off by the wrist, and holding quite tightly to the point where if this thing could have felt pain, it definitely would have at this point. Then she placed her other hand down on its chest, being sure to keep the clone restrained down securely. Satomi seemed to have a bit of a different persona at this point, the light still shinning off her glasses and veiling her eyes, and all of her actions were much rougher, as if she had just abandoned any care for what was going on around her. "Do it already." She said firmly, not even sparing Cassandra a glance as she waited for te 'operation' to commence.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 23, 2008 11:06 am

Cassandra was glad to have some co-operation at last; and rather effective co-operation at that. It began to make Cassandra wonder for a moment exactly how good Satomi would be if she had a few 'improvements'. Ah, but there was surgery going on - there would be time for fantasizing later. "Jawohl, Krankenschwester!" She said with a far too enthusiastic grin as she plunged the saw into the clone's arm.

Even as she continued her cutting, there was a very low amount of blood actually coming out of the wound. After all - there was no functional heart to actually pump the blood out of the open veins or arteries; and consequently, the only blood from the cut was what had been there at the time; or that had poured out through the force of gravity.

The whole 'operation' took less than a couple of minutes. After all, she didn't have to worry about infection - due to the body being dead, and her being undead, neither of them provided a suitable environment for any bacteria or viruses to live - so there was no risk of Satomi contracting anything, either.

She never actually cut through any bones - instead taking a more indirect route to cut between the shoulder blade and the humerus; resulting in a complete arm with no broken bones - and an identical wound on the clone to the one she had currently, albeit a much messier one. As she removed the arm away from the body, a few remaining muscle fibers snapping easily, she looked towards Satomi, grinning. "Danke, Krankenschwester." She stood up, holding the arm by it's soggy end, and examined it. Quite a good cut, given the time she did it in. "You can leave now, if you like. Unless you'd rather watch the attaching process?" She said with a grin, not really expecting her to.

"I've seen enough." Was her only reply, her words blunt and rather cold at the moment. The entire operation that Cassandra went through, Satomi didn't speak or so much as looked the other way. She had remained like a stone during the whole process, keeping back her sickened and appalled feelings about this whole thing. Even when she ended up getting a bit of blood on the sleeves of her uniform past the gloves, she hardly seemed to react; it was like she had voided herself of any personal feelings or objections, and had just a single thought tracked mind. Really, it was how she was when in the lab sometimes or working on a very important experiment, but since she kept herself alone to focus better during these kinds of things, few had seen this side of her, and in this case, she was able to adopt that persona to help her get through this whole thing.

Standing up, she removed the gloves and apron, throwing this as well over towards Rashk which ironically landed on him as well. And then she made her way out the door, not even bothering to do anything about the cyst just yet. She would worry about that the next time they met. "I'm busy tomorrow, so we'll speak the day after that." She said quickly before opening the door and making her way out without so much as looking back for a second.

Cassandra simply shrugged. "Whatever floats your boat. I'll probably be busy getting acquainted with my new arm, anyway." She said, as she sawed off a very small amount of skin where the arm was going to go. This, however, bled rather heavily - but it was nothing Cassandra wasn't used to. It would be a little on the awkward side to do this with one arm, but by no means impossible. It would be a simple case of stitching the arm, that's on the floor, to the wound, and then pull it up like a pulley system or something.

Kneeling down, she plunged the needle into the soggy part of the arm, and then stitched it to the open wound by her shoulder. She dragged the needle down again, and repeated the process until there were ten threads attaching the arm on the floor to her shoulder. "Ein, zwei, und-" Giving the thread attached to the needle a sharp tug, she pulled the threads tight, and the arm rose from the floor, into place on her shoulder. Instantly, the sections where the thread had been fused into the arm, giving her minor functionality. Another qucik several stitches later, and the rest of the flesh fused together. The veins and arteries all lined themselves up, connecting together, and the appropriate changes to the muscles took care of themselves. Less than a minute after removal, and the graft was already complete. The arm felt tingly as the blood rushed back into it, and just to give it a test, Cassandra curled the hand into a thumbs up. Everything seemed to have gone according to plan - another successful procedure.

Now to fix up her little clone. Using her newly-acquired right arm, she walked casually over to the body lying on the floor. Putting barely any effort into the incantation - after all, she wasn't trying to impress anyone, she spoke. "Böse Geister, offensichtliche; negativ Energie - regenerieren rechten Arm." As she said this, she touched the body's shoulder, and the very bones she'd cut off mere minutes ago began to slowly grow back, materializing particle by particle - as if it was being disintegrated in reverse. Nerves, veins and arteries came next, followed by muscles and finally, skin. After about a minute or so, the arm had completely returned.

Whilst the arm regenerated, Cassandra rescued Rashk from the pile of clothing that the stupid thing was far too idiotic to figure his way out of, she gently kicked him back over to Rishk - not enough to do any permanent damage, but enough to let him know that he was stupid. She slipped out of her clothing, only to replace it with her usual clothes - dark blue shirt, brown skirt, and a brown belt with a small brown leather pack on left-hand side and to the right. It was there, of course, she kept all her equipment that she would need - such as her needle.

When she'd finished getting changed, she walked back over to the body. "Alright then, time to get rid of you - don't want people thinking I'm a mass-murderer... Or rather, don't want people realizing it." She held her hand over it, thinking over the spell in her head. "Um... Böse Geister, offensichtliche; Teleportieren meiner neue Körper nach hause." Of course, while this spell literally would teleport it 'home', in this case, it teleported it away to the spot Cassandra had left it for storage - couldn't have anyone finding her little backup corpse, could she? Once again, the skeletal hands dragged the body down through the ground, and Cassandra nodded. "Excellent."

What now? Well, there was little to do, so she grabbed Rishk, and began examining him. He'd been made in rather a hurry, and on reflection, he had very few useful abilities and next to no natural weapons. That'd have to be changed...
PostPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:57 pm

Although she didn't exactly have a particularly wide assortment of spare parts with her, she had what she was looking for. Five small, boney plates, which were then sewn onto each of Rishk's five heads. Instant headbutt. Combine the fact that he had five heads with the fact that each of the heads could operate independently, and the result was a pretty fierce blunt force combatant.

Putting down her creation, she picked up the blood bag she'd removed for the operation. As it turned out, it had been simpler than she thought, and the blood wasn't actually needed. No sense wasting it. Biting a single hole at the bottom, she held it above her mouth, allowing it to pour directly into her mouth.

Whilst packaged blood was no substitute for the real thing, it was more than satisfactory for her. It used to be, years gone by, that she'd go nuts if she went for more than a day without it; but now it's a total luxury. Sure, if she goes a couple of months without any, she'd probably flip out, but with all the surgery she does, licking her needle and bonesaw clean is often enough.

She thought to herself about what she'd do today. With no actual set schedule, what she really wanted to do was animate a platoon of undead and use their heads for target practice... like that would happen here. Wiping her mouth clean and licking the blood from her fingers, she stood up and stretched. It was too early to go out... for now, she just observed Rishk, interested at his confused reaction at the boney plates on his heads.
