The other 10% of Illuminati is covered by an ancient forest, the old home of the Elves. You see Illuminati used to be much larger than it is today. At one time there was a great forest were the Elves used to live, then one day a foolish mage delved too much into the powers of magic and sank half of the island. Many Elves were killed that day, but many more escaped and made their home in the Crystal Forest. The mage responsible for the destruction of the ancient home was never found and it is believed that he still lives somewhere in the Dark Isles.

The Ancient forest is home to many beasts and is a reliable source of food for the Elves. But there is also a danger in this forest, the ancient basilisk lives in this forest. Be careful should you encounter this beast for his stare can turn you to stone.

xxxxEven the woods were silent.

xxxxNot even the crickets chirped as Kiiri passed silently beneath the tall oaks. She stopped, the pine needles creating a soft layer for her bare feet. She watched as the sunlight filtered down between the great oak leaves, creating rays in the dark canopy. A gentle wind rustled the leaves and created small dust and pine needle eddies around her feet. It picked up tendrils of her hair, and played them across her face.

xxxxKiiri closed her eyes, her body relaxed and her mind free. She let her instincts take over and protect her body as she floated in the void that was her mind, searching, finding spells and incantations, learning and yearning for more. An immeasurable amount of time passed before she opened her eyes to the rising moon. A doe, silent and staring, her big eyes glassy as she watched Kiiri come out of her meditation, was standing on the other side of the clearing. Kiiri lifted her hair out of her eyes, the back of her hand brushing branches out of the way. Her movement, nowhere near sudden, startled the deer and it bolted.

xxxxFigures, she thought. I can’t even associate with the animals without intimidating them. If it wasn’t for Jelski, she would be a complete nomad. He should be here soon. I need to eat. She was exhausted from her meditation. It’s the full moon. He knows that I always meditate on the day of the full and new moons. Why isn’t he here?

xxxxShe felt faint, and put her hand out to steady herself. The great oak supported her weight, giving her courage and strength. But her need for food and rest was too great, and, in spite of the support from the tree, she collapsed.

xxxxEven the woods were silent.

xxxx Dark red blood dripped off the stags nose, creating dark drops on the grass of the clearing and staining his boots. He stood over the deer, bow in hand, waiting patiently for the creature to die. Won’t be long now, he thought, wiping down his bow. Kiiri must be nearing the end of her meditation, she must be hungry. The deer sighed it’s last breath, and Jelski picked it up, staggering under the weight. He was unusually strong for an elf, living off the land could do that, but even the weight of the stag was almost too much for him, and he sauntered off.

xxxx He reached the edge of the Kiiri’s clearing just as the moon reached it’s highest point in the sky. He looked around, his eyes searching for Kiiri. He spotted her, staring at him, standing next to the oak. Her eyes were unseeing, unfocused, and she raised her hand, as if in greeting. He dropped the deer in the clearing and raised his hand to let her know he was here.

xxxx She reached out and placed her hand against the great oak. Jelski stepped toward her. Something isn’t right, he thought, as he took in the expression on her face. She seemed… pained. She looks like she did the day she was outcast. His feet sped up, almost unconsciously, and he was almost to her when she collapsed.

xxxxEverything seemed like it was in slow motion. He reached out his hands, trying to stop the inevitable. She seemed as if water, and passed right between his fingers, tendrils of her hair caught in his fingernails, and she cried out as if in pain. “No, Kiiri, no,” he cried. “Don’t do this to me, Kiiri. Don’t leave me. Kiiri.” His voice trailed off as he knelt beside her, stroking her face. He’s seen this before. It was the result of too much magic bombarding the body at once. It nearly always resulted in death.

xxx “Someone, anyone, please help!" he cried out, anguish in his voice.
xxx"Kiiri…”

ℓєα∂ мє ησт ιηтσ тємρтαтιση...

It had been a long time since Ethan had last wandered into these woods. The redhead walked through the trees slowly at first, feeling an odd wave of nostalgia as he ventured deeper within the familiar forest. It felt as if it had been ages since he was last on this island at all, though he felt no regret about that. His regret was even lessened as he'd arrived, walked through the familiar streets of Small Bright, talked to some of the locals. Not a single soul had even recognized him, though he'd only been gone for two years and physically had not changed in the least. After thinking about it, he realized he shouldn't have been surprised, and thought that it was probably for the best. He'd never been popular here. This was not his home.

But he'd been called back regardless.

Someone, here in these woods, had reached out to him, with or without realizing it. He had been practicing his arte, honing his skill with the blade he carried on his back, when it had happened. He had been deep in his trance, learning every curve of the metal in his blade, perfecting his connection with it, when suddenly his mind's image had shifted to somewhere entirely different. He had recognized the Forest of Ancients at once, but the female elf, he had no recollection of. She had seemed to be lost in a meditation of her own, like his and yet much different. Hers was much more destructive to her being. He felt an imbalance as she continued to unfold new skills, there were too many... she broke it off, but whether she'd realized the danger or not, it was too late. She had already been on the verge of collapsing.

Now, the woods were so quiet and peaceful that Ethan began to wonder if this vision had been nothing but. Or perhaps it had been something that was to happen, but he was too late. He had made quick travel back here on nothing but an image and a feeling in his mind to guide him, and he felt slightly foolish for it. Or, he did, until he heard it.

"Someone, anyone, please help!"

His attention snapped up and out of his memory at the sound of the anguished cry. His pace quickened until he was running, and after what seemed like much longer than it actually was, he came to an abrupt halt. There were two elves. A male, kneeling next to the girl he'd seen in his vision. He felt himself take in a sharp breath, and approached the two. "What happened to her?" He asked the panic-stricken man, though Ethan probably knew even better than he did.

xxxxJelski looked up, the sound of the mans voice bringing him back to reality. The man standing before him was a beautiful. He was, in essence, perfect. His high cheek bones and pale skin were perfectly accented by his dark mahogany hair, which fell in a stylish tangled mess about his shoulders. His tall, muscular body held stature, but where it would have made anyone else seem arrogant, it made this male seem to be of importance. Yet, there was a shyness about him, almost as if he just wanted to belong. I can see why he would feel that he didn’t belong… He is too beautiful to fit in anywhere… The thought floated through his head in an almost surreal fashion before the situation hit him.

xxxxThe man was transparent. Almost ghost-like.

xxxxIt took Jelski by surprise, and his eyes widened at the vision before him. Am I dreaming? He could see the oak trees behind him, and further back, the split between the Forest of the Ancients and The Crystal Forest, the separation so abrupt, it was startling. He could see through the mans body the shadows and spirits that inhabited the sparkling forest. I wonder why this man has appeared instead of one of the beings of the other forest. We are so close, another elf or a spirit could have come instead. But instead, this… Jelski could feel that the man was not of this island, at least not anymore. And that he was not in any danger from this entity.

xxxxHe answered the ghost-man’s question, his voice panicked. “I think she overloaded when she was meditating. She always thought she was invincible….” Jelski’s voice shook, and he was forced to stop. She needed him to be strong, but he couldn’t help the tears that filled his eyes. He could remember her as a child, remember when he had fought her, remembered when she had thrown a vase across the room at him in anger. He remembered all the years when he was lost without her. And he remembered when he had found her.

xxxx“Is… Do… Can you help her?” His voice was but a whisper, tears choking his voice and dripping on her body as they continued to roll down his prominent cheeks. His voice was filled with desperation, “I don’t want her to die!”

ℓєα∂ мє ησт ιηтσ тємρтαтιση...

Ethan listened to the elf's summation with a nod. That sounded about right. He stared at the odd pair a moment longer, though he was really lost in his own mind. Could he help her? He thought he must be able to, after all he hadn't come across them by accident. But his ability didn't reach to the sentient yet. He'd never been able to alter a person before, he didn't see how it could be possible to help. But, he had to try, somehow.

He didn't directly answer the man, but knelt on the girl's other side, across from him. He looked down at her, and could see how quickly she was weakening. If he didn't at least try something, she would die. Ethan tugged at the cloth wrapped around his left forearm as he thought, followed by his right, tightening the coil that covered his scars on his otherwise exposed arms.

Something that he'd felt before suddenly registered in his mind. The girl had been taking something... learning, information. Magic. That was what she'd "overloaded" on... A spark in Ethan's eye was the only change in his expression as he realized there might be something he could do after all. He'd spent so much time around magic, he knew enough about it to know that it was different from the being who'd summoned it. He might not be able to alter her in any way, but he could subdue the magic that was rapidly consuming her.

Taking a deep breath, Ethan placed a hand just under the girl's collarbone, and closed his eyes. Her heart was going erratically. She didn't have much time. Ethan fought back the wave of anxiety that attempted to creep into his system, and forced all emotion back, as well as his sense of person. He forced himself into his trance, only altered it slightly from last time.

This time he wasn't looking for the heart of his sword, but the heart of the magic in the girl. And of course, it was everywhere. Her whole system was flooded with it. It made him ill just to feel it second-hand, and it showed on his face. He kept composed though, and started easing his will into her own. Slowly, he began to pull at the tendrils of the magic, easing them out and away from her body, causing them to seem to evaporate like wisps of smoke in his mind's vision. One at a time, carefully, he kept at it for several minutes. He could feel the tension in her body easing as he went, as well as his own.

The time he spent separating her from the deadly magic seemed to last forever, but it was really only minutes before he opened his eyes again with a large breath of clean forest air. He blinked, clearing his head of the slight fog that came with going under, and his gaze shifted to the girl's face as he removed his hand and placed it back in his own lap.

Only then did he remember the other man, and he glanced up at him, looking a bit drained. "I did all I could. I think she's going to be okay, but we won't know until she wakes up." His breath coming out in tired sighs, he forced his body to relax to allow it to recuperate from the difficult technique. After all, it had been his first time attempting such a thing.

xxxxJelski watched as the strange ghost-man knelt on Kiiri’s opposite side, nodding his head as he moved. He seemed to be deep in thought when a spark appeared in his eyes. I want this to work. I need this to work. I don’t know if I can live without her. The tears continued to roll down his cheeks as Jelski watched the young man work. He almost appeared to be deep in a trance.

xxxxThe pulse in Kiiri’s neck became stronger as time passed, and Jelski knew that whatever the man was doing, it was working. The ghost-man was tense, his face pale and drawn, his high cheekbones exposed. As Jelski watched, the man seemed to get more solid before his eyes, almost as if the magic that he was pulling from Kiiri was becoming part of his being. It felt like forever before the man opened his eyes, dark blue orbs that seemed to know the very essence of Jelski’s being.

xxxxThe man blinked and looked down at Kiiri, and then pulled his hand into his own lap. Jelski hadn’t even noticed that he had been holding it. He felt suddenly territorial, and then dismissed the thought with a mental flick of the hand. The man saved her life. It’s not like he made the beast with two backs with her or anything like that. She doesn’t even know him. Worry creased his brow, but there was color returning to her cheeks, so he allowed himself a moment of relaxation. Then the man spoke.

xxxxHis voice was surprisingly soft, weary almost, and confident. "I did all I could. I think she's going to be okay, but we won't know until she wakes up." Jelski looked him in the eye and knew that he was telling the truth. He looked back down at Kiiri and put his palm on her forehead, smoothing away the tendrils of hair that clung there. “I think she would want you to stay. She would not want you to go without saying thank you.” His voice was quiet. He watched for the man’s reaction, wanting to see if his judge of character was right. “And I thank you greatly. If there is anyway to repay you for what you have done, please, only speak of it and it is done. I will do it.”

xxxxThe moon was still rising over the tree line when Jelski rose. He laid Kiiri gently on the soft pine needle covering of the forest floor, the ferns creating a pillow for her head. He took off his cloak and laid it across her, his eyes following the curve of her cheek, the delicate half moons that her eyelashes created as they rested on her cheeks. He looked at the man again.

xxxx“And please, would you tell me your name?”

ℓєα∂ мє ησт ιηтσ тємρтαтιση...

For a moment Ethan's eyes met the male elf's, and he could easily see how deeply the other cared for the girl that lay between them. He wondered for a brief moment if they were a couple, but it didn't concern him, so he let the thought pass. Then the other's eyes dropped back to the girl, and Ethan's followed.

He watched the hand push back her bangs, but looked up again as he was spoken to. He wanted him to stay? He was blatantly surprised at the sudden show of gratitude; he couldn't have hid it if he'd tried. He shifted in his seated position, pulling his legs out in front of him and crossing them, resting elbows on his legs and his chin in his hands.

"Alright. I can stay. But don't get all grovely, it's not like I could've just left you two like this..." The concept of someone feeling indebted to him was so foreign that it made him uncomfortable, and his brow furrowed slightly as he cast the notion aside. He hadn't done this for them, anyways. He'd done it because he felt like he had to; because of his vision. Or at least, that's what he told himself.

Still, looking at the two of them... He felt he had made the right choice. He sat there, introverted, and waited for any change in the girl's condition. He didn't move as the man covered her with his cloak, but his navy hues rose to meet blue-green ones as his name was asked. He hesitated, but less wearily than before, answered the question. "Ethan. And yours?" He glanced down at the girl and then back up again, to indicate that he meant both of them. Considering how scrambled the green-haired elf had seemed up to this point, Ethan wouldn't be surprised if he'd have to clarify further.

Kinzoku had seen it all from his perch in a nearby tree. He'd come to the Ancient forest out of nostalgia. At first he was going to visit his mother but, not yet. He didn't' feel he had done anything amazing enough to warrant returning home just yet. So he changed directions and came here. An old place of play in his youth. While the Firebrand crew was getting ale he was here enjoying the brief respite. And the lovely view of a beautiful woman in the moonlight! Which was ruined when she fell and these two men appeared. Oh well nothing lasts forever eh? Now his curiosity was piqued. It might be a bit fun messing with these two. Maybe he could get them to fight? Argue? Oh he'd stop em before it got too outta hand. Of course there's always the chance it'd backfire and they'd come after him. But what's the fun in life without risks?

Kinzoku stretches a bit and puts his hands behind his head as he leans against the trunk of the tree and finally speaks up, "My my what do we have here? An unconscious, yet beautiful lass, and two men alone in a forest? Tsk tsk tsk...I do hope you two weren't planning anything...unbecoming of gentlemen?" He looks down at the two with a slight smirk on his face and a twinkle in his sea green eyes.

╓────────────────╜א╙────────────────╖

xxxSomeone was being very intimate with her magic. They were pulling at the leftover fragments in her blood, pulling out the destructive fragments but leaving the knowledge behind. Kiiri examined his magic fingerprint as he worked on saving her body, and found a name. Ethan… He pulled out, and she lapsed into sleep.

xxxxKiiri awoke to the sound of Ethan’s voice asking what her name was. And Jelski’s, or at least that’s what she assumed, considering that if it had been anyone else, she probably would have been man-handled by now. She opened her startlingly clear light blue eyes and looked at Jelski. He was looking at the other man, Ethan, she recalled, and looked… concerned. Neither seemed to notice that she was awake and conscious. So much for wanting to be alone, she thought ironically, and then, I’m hungry. Where did that irresponsible Jelski put that delicious looking deer carcass? It was at this point that she sat up.

xxx“He’s Jelski, and I’m Kiiri,” she said irritably at Ethan, pointing first to Jelski and then to herself, as if showing a kindergartener what the color red was. “And he,” she said, pointing over Ethan’s shoulder, “he is Kinzoku. And to answer your question, Kinzoku, no, they’re not. As you very well saw, I fainted. And they, as I’m sure you’re puny little brain has told you, saved me.” She was irritable, her grumpiness magnified by the fact that she was starving. She pulled herself up, using Ethan’s arm like a rope and steadied herself on her feet. It was the first time that she had gotten a good look at him, and although his fingerprint had told her a lot about him, it had not told her he was quite that good looking. She pointedly ignored this fact presented to her by parts of her that were not usually logical (she had long learned to dismiss these feelings, logic is far easier to understand than emotions) and looked over at Jelski. Yes, there was tension between the two, and the one in the tree wasn’t helping either.

xxxThe testosterone in the clearing was overwhelming, and Kiiri stated so, her clear voice aimed at Kinzoku above the other two in the clearing. It was bad enough having to deal with two of them, now there was three, and all she wanted to do was eat. “If you’re going to duke it out, do it somewhere else,” she said pointedly, “because I’m hungry and do not want my appetite spoiled by a bunch of whiny sniveling adults fighting over each other.” With this, Kiiri walked over the fallen deer and cut off a chunk of meat. It was still warm, and with a work from her magic, it was soon cooked to perfection, the smell permeating the clearing.

xxxShe looked at them all, daring them to say anything, before she settled into eating. Her mind wandered a little before finally settling down on her rescuer. I hate being in peoples debt. Although, he is rather good looking. To say the least. He has stature. And is well muscled. But still, debt… I suppose I wouldn’t mind being in debt with him… It wandered a little more, and suddenly she was mad at herself. What the hell am I doing here? Why is it always my luck that just as I start to enjoy life again I get mixed up in situations like these? She shook her head, and pushed all thoughts out of her mind. She was too tired to think about it.

xxxAnd there was silence, just the way that she liked it.

ℓєα∂ мє ησт ιηтσ тємρтαтιση...

Ethan looked up sharply at the unfamiliar male voice. He knew this atmosphere couldn't have lasted... but now that the quiet peace had been interrupted, Ethan found himself getting angry at the man in the tree who'd ruined it. He met the smug expression with a glare and opened his mouth to retort, but before he could get anything out he was interrupted with a start as the girl, apparently named Kiiri, sat up abruptly and began snapping at everyone. He wasn't sure what he had expected out of her, but this was certainly a surprise. He stared after her, forgetting to close his mouth again until she stalked over to her... dead deer? Lovely...

He forced himself to take his attention away from Kiiri as she cooked her slab of meat. Instead he looked at the tree-dweller, Kinzoku, again. He had at least some Elfin blood in him, but that wasn't a surprise here. Ethan took note of his clothes, his slight accent, and his complexion, which was one of someone who spent a lot of time on the ocean. He may have only been off on his own for two years, but Ethan was quick and observant. His lips curled up lightly into a smirk. "Speaking of gentlemanly behavior, you should stay on your best, Tarzan. The Elves aren't too appreciative of piracy, mate."

But with the warning came a slight recognition. When he'd left the docks of Small Bright, hadn't there been some pirate making a little fuss in town? He couldn't recall for sure; at that point it was only some noise, and he'd been distracted by more important things- like the effort to settle his stomach after the trip. But maybe the two were friends. It seemed likely that they were on the same crew, because pirates didn't often dock on Illuminati. An Elf's honor wasn't something to trifle with.

Ethan finally realized that the only reason he was even thinking about this was to distract himself from the awkward tension in the air. He didn't feel comfortable just sitting there anymore, and was struck with a feeling of restlessness. He rose to his feet, adjusting the belt that held his sword to his back. "Well then Kiiri, I wouldn't want to interrupt your meal," he said, somehow managing to sound deferent and condescending at the same time, "So since you seem to be in fine health, I'll just be on my way."

His smile became more leisurely as he turned away from the group with a wave of his hand, though he wasn't relaxed in the least. Honestly, he didn't know why he'd stayed so long. He'd done what he'd come here to do, there was no reason to hang around on an island where he wasn't wanted. He didn't want those two to "owe" him; there wasn't anything they could do for him anyways. And he certainly didn't want to waste time chatting it up with the pirate. He'd just as soon go off on his own again.

{|☼|} "Its time for you to die my friend......" {|☼|}

Kinzoku claps his hands together and flips upside down in the tree. Hanging by his legs with the agility of a cat. He puts his hands behind his head and laughs a laugh of a man without a care in the world, "My my do we have a pair of sharp tongues here!" His eyes follow Kiiri as he speaks next, "Feisty and beautiful, doesn't get any better than that!" His mischievous eyes turn back to Ethan and with a big grin responds, "I am always, if anything, a gentleman. Well...except for that one time in Tortuga....." He trails off and shudders slightly but the grin is back again in the blink of an eye. "But that's a story best left untold. Unless its over a pint or two of ale!" His laughter rolls from his lips again.

Kinzoku raises an eyebrow when Ethan gets up to leave, "'Ol'd up there mate!" He lets go of the tree and actually twists his body in the short distance to the ground to land on his feet with unnatural grace. He then sprints after Ethan and turns to run backwards as he talks to him, "Why the rush mate? Ya just saved a beautiful damsel and your gonna just leave?" He shakes his head and tsks "Be a shame ya know. She might be very grateful." And gives Ethan a knowing wink. Things were just starting to get interesting. You could cut the tension in the air with a knife. Just the way he liked it. He couldn't let this game end just like that! What would Logan say if he know that Kinzoku "The Blade" let a spot of fun slip by! Besides he had a feeling it would almost be time to leave soon by the signs of things. I mean the smoke coming from the direction of Small Bright meant only one thing, Logan was having a spot of fun himself.

xxxxJelski stood by and watched open-mouthed as all the drama unfolded. How the hell did I manage to get into this one? These people are crazy. He had been as startled as the other… Ethan, when Kinzoku suddenly appeared out of no where, and Kiiri had awoken. He looked from one to the other as they argued, as Kiiri walked over to the dead deer, and as Ethan rose and walked away. Kinzoku seemed to be trying to get him to stay, and for one reason or another, he didn’t trust the cat-like pirate. Not to say that I would normally trust a pirate, but there’s something extremely… well…fishy about this one. He grimaced mentally at the bad play on words.

xxxxHe watched the conversation between Kinzoku and Ethan with keen eyes, and weighed his words carefully. “Let him go if he wants to, Pirate. It’s his choice. Kiiri knows how to find him if she needs to, it’s not like he didn’t leave a fragment of his magic on her, and vice-versa. Although,” he cut his eyes across to Kiiri and then Ethan, and his voice got very soft with rage, “you’re right. She might be very grateful.”

xxxxHe didn’t want to think about the double meaning behind the words. There was too much to think about here. It’s not like it’s any of his business anyways… He looked back at Kiiri, who was watching the exchange with an almost amused, if stern, expression on her face. She’s enjoying this! Jelski thought suddenly with astonishment. He glanced back to the other two, but they didn’t seem to have noticed. He could see the source of her amusement though. The two guys were arguing, Kiiri eating a deer, and he was standing here with his mouth open. He quickly shut his mouth, and walked over to Kiiri.

xxxxHe sat down next to her and posed a question in her general direction. “Who do you think is gonna break and go for the knives first?” Kinzoku, whom he had taken to calling ‘Zoko’ in his mind, looked like he was having some fun at Kiiri’s expense. He wondered very loudly if perhaps Kinzoku liked Kiiri in a way that was not very gentlemanly, and grinned. The mood had risen a little more, and she was looking a little haggard from her day. She probably didn’t appreciate his humor.

xxxxJelski was sure that his comments were the result of too much excitement. He was not normally so excitable. And he felt odd. Almost light-headed. And the air tasted sweet to him. Sickly sweet, like cane sugar. There was no way that someone could have drugged him, he had prepared all his own food today. Which could only mean one thing.

xxxxRogue Magic or Spirits were attracted to the leftover magic in the area.

xxxKiiri grinned as Ethan called Kinzoku ‘Tarzan’. Leopard actually fit better, but she wasn’t about to undermine her saviors attempt to get rid of this pest. She was still grinning when he turned to her and told her in a rather snotty voice that he would hate to interrupt her meal. The remnants of venison went sour in her mouth, and her grin fell right off her face. God, if he had been any more sour, I would be scraping paint off the walls… Had there been any paint on any walls…

xxxShe watched as he turned away and Kinkozu came after him, apparently defending her honor. Or enticing Ethan to take use of her abilities as a female. She snorted at the thought. He’s prolly jealous because he didn’t hop down from his high horse soon enough to get an intimate look at me like Ethan did.She looked over at Jelski. He was just standing there like and idiot with his mouth hanging open. I cannot believe the smarts surrounding me at this point… She glanced away to watch the guys with slight amusement. They were still bickering or doing whatever it is guys do when they’re in a testosterone battle. When she looked back, Jelski had closed his mouth and was heading towards her.

xxxShe answered his question slowly, contemplating the answers carefully so that she didn’t misstep and trip over herself, so to speak. “I think that Kinzoku is enjoying this a little too much for it to be innocent. I think he is here to pose us against each other. That would be just like pirate scum.” She blatantly ignored his second comment, a rude one, and was surprised by his audacity. This was not normal of Jelski, but after a moment, she shrugged it off.

xxxShe turned to Ethan, and raised her voice so that he would hear her. “Ethan, I appreciate your help. Without you, I wouldn’t be here.” Her voice was strong as she continued. “I’m sure you can imagine how I feel, having just brushed with death. I’m a little shook up, and confused. So I’m sorry if I seem a little stand-off-ish to you.” She turned sarcastic here, so subtle that it would be hard to pick out. “If you want to leave, that’s fine with me. I offer my services to you once only. Accept or do not, but at your own risk. But there was no reason for you to be a jerk about it. You could have been a little more understanding. I did not call you here. I did not want you here,” her eyes were clear as she stood up, “and, I did not ask for your help, but yet I thank you gracioously. Stay and share this 'meal' if you want. It is only proper of me to offer.”

xxx“And Kinzoku? Shut up. No one cares what you have to say. After all, you are a pirate, mate.”

ℓєα∂ мє ησт ιηтσ тємρтαтιση...

Somehow, Ethan had had a feeling he wouldn't get too far. He took in a breath and sighed as Kinzoku catches up to him. He tries to tune him out as he rambles about Kiiri being "grateful". Of course he'd picked up the meaning right away, but he hadn't even thought of that until Kinzoku brought it up. He didn't much care, either; his mind didn't work that way. But for the sake of making an a** out of himself, he decided to play along.

He paused after the pirate finished, and cocked his head slightly to look at him in surprise, as if he'd just been given a revelation. Then he crossed his arms, placing a hand lightly on his chin and looking downward, as if contemplating. His eyes rose at the acidic comment from Jelski, but he didn't dissuade it. The edges of his lips curled upwards slightly for a moment, and then he looked at Kiiri pensively. Appraisingly. But then, he sighed again, this time more disappointed sounding than annoyed, and shrugged. "Eh, not really my type. Too Amazonian."

He acted as if she held no interest for him, and possibly wasn't even up to his standards of women. Though he did notice that she wasn't bad looking to say the least, and boy was she scantily clad. No wonder Kinzoku had been making indirect passes at her. But no, that certainly wasn't what he wanted as payment for saving her. That was just low and pitiful in his mind.

He sobered up slightly at Kiiri's speech of gratitude. It threw him off, because he'd expected her to keep with the irritated she-witch routine. For a brief moment he looked almost guilty about being rude, but he covered himself quickly. Especially when she said she hadn't called him here. That actually made him a mad. His brow furrowed at it, and at her offer of food. "I already ate, thanks," he quipped, and eyed the carcass for a moment. He really did think it was a little gross, the way she was eating it. He may not be a prince anymore, but he DID have a level of decorum he liked to keep with his meals.

"And, actually..." he began, unsure whether or not he really wanted to say this. But she'd brought it up. "You did call me here. Or, something about you did. I never meant to come to this island again, but for some reason, your powers crossed paths with mine, and lead me here. So I appreciate your thanks, but now that I've sated my curiosity, all I really want is to leave this place again." He looked disgruntled or annoyed, but really he was just uncomfortable. Now he sort of wished he hadn't said anything. He decided to try walking away again. It seemed like a good idea. Even if he really wanted to run, instead.

{|☼|} "Its time for you to die my friend......" {|☼|}

Kinzoku stops dead in his tracks and doubles over with roaring laughter when Ethan calls Kiiri an amazon. My this land lubber was interesting! Far more interesting then the other two, even if one was a woman. After he's finished with his laughing fit Kinzoku turns and bows with a flourish towards the other too, "Careful lass. Someone is sure to cut that sharp tongue out one o' these days." The threat is apparent but it is said an oddly cheerful manner. With a silly grin to go with it. He adds to it, "And one should always have their ears open to what a pirate has to say. We sail these great and bountiful seas! We see wonders you couldn't dream! So without further ado I fair thee well cause those same seas are calling out to me again." Kinzoku stands up straight and turns to follow after Ethan again. He knew when to end his game. When to not take it too much farther. After all it was just that, a game to him.

Kinzoku catches up to Ethan and drapes an arm over Ethan's shoulder, "Oi! Mate! Your a right funny one ye are!" Kinzoku laughs remembering what Ethan said earlier about Kiiri before continuing, "Now you look to be in a hurry to be off this bit o' rock? Well! It just so happens that my captain is a right generous fella." He removes his arm and walks a bit ahead of Ethan his hand now holding his chin in a mockery of one thinking. "Fact is. He isn't what one would call a typical pirate." Kinzoku shrugs and turns about to face Ethan again. This time his face actually shows the respect he has for the man he speaks of, "He would put his life on the line for anyone aboard his ship. Hell he almost died once protecting a stowaway from a rival pirate group." Kinzoku shakes his head and chuckles, "Gave us a right good scare he did." Kinzoku looks off towards Small Bright when a ball of fire floats up from the middle of the town and fades away. The sound of that fire ball soon follows. "Might be awhile before we leave though. Captain's having a bit o' fun right now." Kinzoku chuckles and turns to leave. "Just be at the dock before the light show goes away and jump aboard. No one will stop ya. And ya can't miss the ship. It'll be the only one flying pirate colors" Kinzoku jumps to the nearest tree branch, during his jump Kinzoku twists in midair to face Ethan again. He waves with a big grin on his face before jumping backwards into the darkness of the forest and disappearing.

{|☼|} "..wait....hold that thought. Hey beautiful! How bout you and I hit the town tonight!" *slap!* {|☼|}
