The Moonlight Plateau is named so because moonlight always seems to strike it's surface. Even when the clouds are particularly thick, they never form over the Moonlight Plateau. Another feature of this plateau is the evidence of ancient ruins, what could they mean? Are they the cause for the moonlight never leaving this area of the island?

Soraya looked up at the cloudless moonless sky above the plateau. The stars shined like show against black backdrop, the pale sliver of the moon just beginning to rise above the stark, black, wave-less ocean in front of her. It is beautiful. The thought passed through her consciousness, barely making a ripple in her though pattern. The beautiful sapphire triple moon tattoo on her forehead tingled in the cool night air, and the swirls and ruins that patterned across her forehead and cheekbones in addition to the moon sparkled in the now pale moon light.

Dalamar had left her but a minute ago, and she knew he would not be long, his abilities allowing him to run an errand in a fraction of the time it would have taken a normal person. Oh, how I wish I could have the power endowed onto me, like so many before me. She hated that she hadn’t been chosen. There were so many that were, endowed with spirits and magic. Longing filled her soul, as she once again paid homage to the moon and the goddess of night. “Oh, Nyx, I know you have chosen me. I, the only of the vampires to be endowed with your symbol, am still here before you, asking,” she allowed the longing that filled her soul to fill her voice as she lifted it in beautiful song,

“Beneath the shining stars,
Beneath the gleaming moon,
When night has healed the scars
Of burning noon
And so, I say to you,
If hate possess your heart,
When day’s hot strife is through
Bid hate depart
The disappointing day,
Whenever wrong, or how,
Is something passed away,
Is ended now.
Forget, forgive, the scars,
And sleep will find you soon
Beneath the shining stars,
The gleaming moon.”

The least line echoed across the sea in front of her, the beautiful notes having been dragged out for as long as Soraya could hold them. Her chest heaved and shone in the mild light of the moon, and she turned so that her face was in the shadows. I do not want Vae to see me like this. I do not want him to know how I long for what I cannot have. I know he would kill himself if it would make me happy. She sighed, a sigh that held all the emotion and pain a sigh can hold, a sigh that embodied all the conflicting feelings she had, all the longing and sorrow.

The last of her sorrow gone, she turned her mind back to the task at hand, and waited with patience for Dalamar to return.

The wind was soft, and the night was cool. There was no time to waste.

Dalamar looked up at the frozen night sky as he walked, his feet making no imprint on the leaves beneath him as he padded away from the town. It was beautiful here, on this island, the scent from the sea bringing in with it a clean feeling, a feeling that one only knows if they have spent time near the sea. It had been but moments since Dalamar had left Soraya, but those moments felt like hours. His task had taken less time than he thought it should have, but he knew that she would be waiting impatiently, worrying over the state of his body. She always did.

He walked more swiftly, the thought of returning to the embrace of his lover making him anxious to return to her side. The leaves and branches barely rustled as he moved, no branches cracked under his feet. He was close to the clearing, just around another bend and he would be there. His feet practically flew across the cold ground as he hurried to reach her. Dalamar slowed as he reached the last part of his journey, pulling himself out of his bubble of time, allowing himself to become pert of the real world again, allowing his molecules to speed back up to their normal speed. When he reached the clearing, he stopped abruptly.

“Raya,” he whispered as the sight before him took his breath away. She was standing in the moonlight; her hands upturned, and tattoo sparkling. Her chest was moist and glowed faintly in the pale light. She didn’t seem to know that he was there, for the tears that ran down her cheeks ran freely and without consequence. She was singing, the words echoing over the valley below and across the ocean, pulling at his very being. As the last note of the song faded, she turned away, not seeming to notice the tears as they trailed down her cheeks. She sighed, and the emotion in her sigh filled him with a sorrow so great that he almost cried out. Dalamar stepped back into the shadow of the tree line, and collected his thoughts.

Have I done something? Is there anything I can do to help her? The questions ran through his mind quickly, making his head spin. Maybe the reason she is crying now was because she wanted to make sure I didn’t know… So do I play dumb? Do I act like I never saw any of it? He tossed the ideas around in his head for a while before finally deciding to play dumb and pretend that he never saw any of it. If it was important for him to know, she would tell him.

Dalamar stepped into the clearing and walked over to her side. She was looking much more put together now. He put his hand on her shoulder and folded her into him, hugging her to his chest. Her long blond hair smelled clean and flowery, almost like roses, and her cheeks shown with a youthful flush. “Hi,” he said softly, his breath tickling her hair. “I found what we needed. It should be fairly easy to get.” He turned away from her, and looked out over the ocean. It was a beautiful sight. He turned back to her, and pushed her away so that they were standing apart, with his hands on her shoulders. He looked into her eyes, his voice was soft but his words held weight.

“We need to act. And we need to act tonight.”

{Ω} "Do you really think you can stand against my might....?" {Ω}

Vahn walks slowly towards the edge of the plateau he was on. He was in no rush. No hurry to reach his destination. When he gets to the edge Vahn takes a deep breath. Taking in the cool night air. A smile spreads across his face as it faces the moon. Out here on the Moonlight Plateaus Vahn always felt better. Stronger. Because it was here were the moon's powers were the strongest. Vahn looks behind him towards his castle, now a silhouette in the background. Though it sat on the very edge of the Moonlight Plateaus it never seemed the same as actually being out here on the plateaus themselves.

Vahn looks back over the Moonlight Plateaus and crosses his arms over his chest. A more dour look now upon his face. Even the beauty of these plateaus held sour memories. Some of the most fierce battles of the war between the lycans and vampires were fought here. But there was peace now. How ever unstable it may be. There was finally peace. No more hearing the anguished cry of his dying kin. And Vahn will do anything to prevent hearing that sound again.

Vahn head tilts slightly as a sound carries over the wind. Singing......? Instinctively his nose takes in the breeze that follows and instinctively his lip curls in a snarl when it carries with it the scent of vampires. What are vampires doing so close to his home? Vahn grabs hold of the hilt of a very large sword upon his back and crouches low. In one powerful jump Vahn soars through the air to the next plateau. Vahn slides to a stop and sniffs the air again. That way...... Vahn changes direction and bolts through the ruins atop this particular plateau. Vahn leaps through the air again as he reaches the end of the plateau and lands on the next one. He sniffs the air again. He was getting closer. Though he had lost the sound. The scent still remained and he would continue to follow it.

xxxxSoraya let him pull her close, his warm, spicy smell both comforting and invigorating. But when he pushed her away again, she let him for a moment before pulling herself into his chest again. She rested her head on his shoulder, on the wary in this strange place. The wind, surprisingly calm this close to the shore, gently picked up tendrils of her hair and played them over Dalamer’s face. He grinned, enjoying the clean flowery smell of her hair.

xxxxSoraya started, her head jerking up and clipping Dalamer in the head. He was about to complain when she held her hand up and motioned for him to be silent.“There’s someone over there,” she whispered in his ear, pointing with her eyes over his shoulder. She had seen movement in the ruins over the hill, her sharp eyes picking up the slightest movement. He grasped her hand, realizing the gravity of the situation, and pulled her around in an elaborate swirl so that he was facing the ruins. He wanted to face the… thing. Whatever it was. He could at least protect her. “Let me handle this. I might be able to get there and back quick enough to only flicker, and not totally disappear,” he said, his voice quiet. She looked at him, but knew, once again, that this was right. When, once again, she could do nothing, he was doing everything.

xxxxFrom Soraya’s perspective, Dalamar flickered, like bad signal on a television. “Welcome back,” she whispered.

xxxxFrom Dalamer’s perspective, the whole world changed. Everything stopped. The wind, the birds, even the water seemed to freeze. He had been careful not to touch Soraya on his way in, not wanting to bring her with him on this journey. He left her, ignoring her expression of surprise as he walked over the still leaves to the ruins. There is nothing here. Or at least, not in this particular section, he thought ironically as he spotted more ruins to his left. Sure enough, there was a head peaking over that rock. It was Lycan. He had his head tilted to the wind, almost as if taking a sniff.

xxxxWhat is a Lycan doing here? This close to the Vampire terreitory? He wondered this as he walked close enough to look at the man. He was huge, and carried enough body armor and weapons for a small army. It is the night of the full mood. He will be at the height of his powers. The man was massive, bigger than any other Lycan Dalamar had seen. There was only one conclusion to draw from this. The man is the King of the Lycans. Vahn. Dalamar slowly returned to Soraya, his thoughts jumbled. With his powers, he could take anyone by surprise, kill anyone without them knowing he was even there. But he loathed to do so. That was not playing fair by his standards, and although it was common knowledge Lycans were dirty fighters, he hated to use that knowledge with out first hand experience.

xxxxHe came back to real time, his face hidden from the Lycan king behind him. Soraya immediately recognized his guarded look, and worry creased her brow. He smoothed it away with a kiss. “It’s the Lycan king. I don’t know what he’s doing here. Or what he wants with us. We haven’t done anything to deserve his wrath.”

xxxxShe looked up at him, grief evident in her eyes. Her voice was but a whisper. “You mean, you haven’t.” He looked surprised.

xxxxHe grabbed her arm and pulled her into a time warp, in case the Lycan got closer. “Oh, Raya. What have you done?”

{Ω} "Do you really think you can stand against my might....?" {Ω}

Vahn comes to a sudden stop and sniffs the air again. Something had changed. There was a new smell. Something he couldn't place. Something he had never smelled before. What was this scent? Vahn continues on his way but his thoughts were still preoccupied. So Preoccupied that he didn't see the wall before him. So preoccupied that he didn't even notice crashing through said wall without even slowing down. He absently brushes dust off his shoulders and shakes his hair free of dust. Vahn reaches a treeline and weaves between the trees before coming to a sliding stop at the edge of a clearing. His eyes lock on to the figures of two beings in the middle. The air reeked of vampire. But his previous anger was gone. Calmed by the mysterious new scent that preoccupied his mind earlier.

Vahn stands to his full height slowly. Not exactly sure what to do now that he had found them. Before, instinct and anger guided him. Now only curiosity. His silver gray eyes glow faintly due to the power of the moon within him. These same eyes study the two figures before him. He really was at a loss on what to do. Vahn sighs heavily and sits down on a nearby stump and brushes off more dust from the broken wall, even pulling out a sharp shard of stone from his arm. The wound heals instantly.

After cleaning himself up a bit Vahn leans froward with one arm draped over a knee, "So then.....what are vampires doing so close to lycan territory?" In reality the plateaus were a no mans land. No one claimed ownership in respect for the soldiers that died here on both sides. But still....it never hurt to make sure that these weren't a pair of young and foolish vampires seeking fame by trying to kill a lycan.

xxxxSoraya looked away, unable to meet Dalamar's gaze. She didn't register that Dalamar had pulled her into his time warp. She had never told him about her past before they met, but now it was necessary. Her voice was soft, and her eyes were wistful and faraway as she recalled the past.

xxxx“It was almost three hundred years ago…

xxxxThe land there was very different then. The ruins that you see on yonder island yonder were once a great temple, with white columns that rose up out of the rocks and into the mist that hung over the tree tops. The great oaks that were scattered around the area shadowed this place from the sun by day and gave shelter to the birds by night. The land and the people prospered. There were no territorial boundaries, and there was peace. The people rejoiced.

xxxxIt was during this time that I was born. The humans here lived in peace with the Vampires and Lycans that inhabited the other island, this one. We paid them homage, gave them the sacrifices that they demanded every five years. They, in return for our most beautiful female and strongest male, kept peace and did not take any of our lives. In our primal innocence, we didn’t know what they did with the sacrifices, but I think that in our ignorance, we chose not to see. Each of their sacrifices, in order to keep the Human race strong, must have had three children. Our lives revolved around this ritual. Anyone that did not want to be sacrificed was kept barren. Keeping the peace was a necessity.

xxxxAnd it all worked out very well, until around my 24th year. I had had three children, and understood the responsibilities and risks. I was not worried; I had never thought of myself as beautiful and usually kept myself out of sight when the Vampire and Lycan Kings came to pick out their preferred. I remember this day very well. It was beautiful, the sun was shining and the birds chirping. I remember the sun bringing out a touch of color as it caressed my cheek that day as I wandered into town. I hadn’t bothered to look at the calendar, and it had been almost a month since I had been in town. I didn’t know that he vampires were scheduled to pick out their chosen ones that day. I didn’t notice that all was quiet in town till it was too late. One of them, a particularly beautiful one, looked up as I turned to corner. I had caught his eye, and he had caught my scent. He whispered to his king, who looked at me. I remember the lust that filled his eyes. They took me home with them that day. It was the last day in almost 200 years that I felt the sun on my face.

xxxxMy husband was livid when he found out, and went mad with grief even as I was training to keep my thirst under wraps. He killed a man in the heat of his anger, that first day. It was the new moon, and the Lychans were at their weakest. He killed one of them. Soon, war broke out. I was still too young to notice time passing.

xxxxSoon enough, though, I was allowed out to the battlefields in the aftermath, to tend to the wounded. I was strong enough then to recognize the smell of Lycan blood, and resist the temptation to lick. But the temptation was still there. It was in this situation that I met a Lycan on the field. He was there doing much the same thing I was. His name was Vlar Aujara. He, much like me, was weeping at the loss of life, the loss of friends and the inhumanness of it all. He was young. Younger than me. I was drawn to his charisma, his caring nature and his body. He was drawn to me in much the same way.

xxxxOur coupling was swift and passionate on that first night.

xxxxAnd every night after I ran to his sweet embrace. We loved each other, not for what we were, but for what we weren’t. I was not as inhuman as the other vampires, and he was not as coldhearted as the other Lycans. We spent the better part of ten years together, just a spit in the bucket of my life. There was always something new to learn, something else to uncover in out lives. I loved him with every fiber of my being.

xxxxBut we knew it wouldn’t last. It couldn't. And it didn’t.

xxxxIt was ten years to the day when that fateful battle arose. I knew he would be called to fight as soon as he was strong enough, in the same way that I had been when I was. That day came. I was to fight my fifth battle, and I knew the drill. No outside contact. So I never got his message. I never knew that he had been called too. Until I met him on the battlefield. I had killed a Lycan that had threatened my mentor, and I watched as my sword flashed red in the moonlight. Another Lycan stepped in to take his place. I raised my sword to defend against another blow and watched as my mentor killed the love of my life.

xxxxIfell right there, the sword falling from my numb fingers, onto the blood soaked grass at his feet. I didn’t know what to do, where to go. I couldn’t tell anyone, because our coupling was forbidden by all rules. For years after, I cut down anyone in my path.

xxxx“Which brings me to then end of my story. He knows. I got Auja’s message years later. Auja had told the Lycan king about us. If it’s the same man, he knows. If it isn’t, I wouldn’t be surprised if the knowledge passed on. I’m sorry, Vae. I should have told you. But I didn’t want anyone to know.” She looked at him, her eyes filled with tears.

xxxx“I don’t know what he wants, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew and wanted to persecute me. I deserve it.”

xxxxDalamar didn’t know what to say about this information. Soraya had withheld so much information from him, so much time. There was so much about her that he felt he didn’t know, and he felt betrayed, and knew that despite his greatest efforts, it had shown on his face. He could have walked away there, let her fend for herself at the mercy of the Lycan, but he could not bring himself to be so cruel.

xxxxHe also knew that they had precious little time before they would either flicker or disappear completely from the Lycan king’s eyes. And he knew they had two choices, and talking about her past was not one of them. “Raya, we can stay here and let him confront us, or we can run. But we do not have time to stand here and reminisce about the past. O.K., you had a previous lover. I never would have expected any different. You made some bad choices, but those are over with. There is no going back now. You need to let the past go and focus on now. We need to choose our path. And we need to choose now.” He looked at her, his eyes searching her ruby ones, but they were grief stricken. She had never really let go of him, Vlar. It had never really hit her until now that he was truly gone. So it was up to him to choose. And he knew, despite her fear, what he would choose.

xxxxAnd he chose right. He pulled her to him for one last embrace before walking over to the ruins to find a club like rock. There were plenty around, but many of them would not withstand a blow to the very hard skull of a Lycan. Not that I plan on using them, but we should be prepared. He found one; about three feel long and about a foot in diameter. Neither of their weapons would do much good in a fight, but he loosed one dagger from his calf anyways. There was no reason not to be prepared. After all, They didn’t know what to expect.

xxxxHe walked back to Soraya and grabbed her arm almost painfully. Before he returned to normal time, he looked up at the moon. It had not changed. They might only flicker, but it was dark, and they were standing in the shadow. He returned them to the exact positions that they were in before he had slowed them. And then he pulled them back into real time.

xxxxThere was nothing good about this change, no pleasure like there normally was. He almost gasped at the pain, but caught himself. No reason to give ourselves away now. He turned and looked directly at the Lycan, his eyes showing that they meant no harm. They were here on business, not to reminisce and not to cause trouble. He pulled his hands away from Raya and motioned that exact sentiment. And then he turned his back on the Lycan, not only to show trust, but also to tend to his lover.

xxxxShe wasn’t looking so good. Her face was pale, and her eyes red rimmed. The tattoo on her forehead sparkled as if it too was filled with tears. He touched her, trying to shake her from this strange grief stricken reverie. She must be totally convinced that he is here to kill her. Or whatever it is they do to people who break the ‘rules’. He looked over his shoulder again, checking on the Lycan. No visible change, but he was moving fairly fast for a vampire. It had only been a couple seconds since the beginning of this whole fiasco.

xxxxHe looked back at Raya, and spoke loud enough for the Lycan to hear. “We mean no harm. Not to the people here, anyways.”

{Ω} "Do you really think you can stand against my might....?" {Ω}

Vahn studies the two vampires for a long moment. It wasn't that he was trying to make them uncomfortable. He was just bored. He had hopped he had found a fight. But instead it seemed more like a misunderstanding. Vahn finally speaks after a few more moments, "You really should be careful out here. The younglings of both sides have been known to fight here. It has caused a few...misunderstandings in the past." Then his mind brings him back to that unusual smell. In fact it had come from this area. He sniffs the air absently and his eyes rest on the male vampire, "Why is your scent different than other vampires?" Vahn yawns showing his obvious boredom and begins to adjust a strap on one of his gauntlets.

Vahn didn't seem to show any sign that he recognized the female vampire. Glancing at her once before returning his attention back to the male. The unusual scent was more intriguing than a sniffling vampiress to him. But this interaction was better than nothing at the moment. The adrenaline in his system wouldn't let him return to the peace and calm of earlier.

xxxxDalamar looked up at the Lycan, surprised that he would notice a thing as trivial as a scent. He knew that his was especially strong, and even stronger when he was around Raya, but he didn’t think it was that strong. Dalamar looked back down at her, making sure for one last time that she would be O.K. before he got up and walked over to the Lycan, being very careful not to cross any boundaries or offend him. He looked up at the Lycan, but was careful not to ger too close; being short was a pain sometimes. “I’m not really sure.” His forehead creased. He knew exactly why he smelled different, more irresistible to Vahn. It was his power. “You know that certain vampires have certain abilities, obviously. Well, these abilities have certain side affects. They can affect a persons looks, smell hair color, any number of things. My ability affects my scent, making me seem more attractive.” He stopped there, not wanting to give too much away, but also knowing that Vahn would ask him what his ability was anyways.

xxxxAt this point, he didn’t know what to say and just stood there like a idiot. He looked again at Raya, and wished she would get up and walk away. She just sat there. I wonder if there is anything I should be worried about with her. She’s been acting strange a lot lately. First the singing and crying while I was ‘gone’ and now this. I wonder if she is thinking about leaving me… The thought pained him a lot, and he pushed it to the back of his mind. He looked up at the night sky and allowed himself to be taken by it for a minute.

xxxxBut mostly, he wondered what he was doing here.

EVENT

Dark ominous clouds begin to form over the Moonlight Plateaus. But even these ominous clouds can't seem to block out the moon from shinning on the plateaus. Try as they might to smother the moon they cannot seem to succeed in blocking it out. This doesn't hinder the clouds any though as the black lightning begins to strike at the surface of the plateaus. As they strike the sight of an old battle field....

Hideous sounds echo across the plateaus. Howling that almost seem like that of a lycan...but different. The smell of death rises from the plateaus like the morning mist on a body of water. Dark figures can be seen in the forests below. They run in two directions. One group towards the Vampires and Eclipse Castle the other group towards Castle Lycan.

Vahn tilts his head in interest as he listens to the male vampires explanation of the scent. At the end of the explanation Vahn suddenly bursts into roaring laughter. He even goes so far as to reach out and slap the vampire heavily on the back a few times as if he were a drinking buddy that said something particularly funny, "Its gonna take a bit more than a scent to make you attractive to me lad!" Vahn lets out another fit of laughter before calming down some. Vahn stands to his full height and stretches from sitting down for so long. "Well I suppose I've taken up enough of your time." He looks from the female vampire then to the male, "I would chose a better place for a secret rendezvous." Vahn grins gives the male a knowing wink. But then his mood becomes more somber. Returning to the king that he was as he speaks again, "For more reasons than one that I'm sure you understand. Neither side can afford a misunderstanding among the younglings. The peace between our two races is fragile enough as it is."

Vahn turns to leave but then he noticed something else. The dark clouds that had formed above where not natural, "What the...." Then then black lightning begins to strike all around the plateaus. He didn't like this one bit. There has never been weather of this kind on this island, on any island for that matter. Then a sad horrible howl reaches his ears and Vahn almost weeps in sadness. He has heard such a howl only once before. And that was on the island of Darkwood. When he had to hunt down a fellow lycan who had become an undead beast. There was movement in the forests all around them. Vahn draws his massive sword and readies it. He looks over his shoulder at the other two. "Either run or prepare to defend yourselves!" And then turns his attention back to the glowing red eyes staring back at them through the forest's darkness.

It was such a beautiful scent. One she hadn't smelled in centuries. Alexia's heart lifted at the notice of it... Vahn. She had come to this island as soon as she'd heard of the news (which by now, couldn't really be considered "news") that the Lycans had relocated their home. It had taken a while, but she'd finally found him, and she couldn't be happier about it.

Though, the timing could be better.

As she weaved through the brush of the forest, Lexie was careful to stay out of the path of the black lightning. She had watched through the canopy as the clouds had formed, curiously changing colors and shooting out such odd lightning. And the creatures the lightning had created... simply wonderful! She was nearly green with envy. She regretted the fact that she'd had to kill some of these beasts so far; she would have much rather taken them back to her "home" to examine them further. But, Vahn was so close, she couldn't leave him now. And so, sacrifices had to be made.

Oddly enough, she'd caught another scent there besides Vahn's. A vampire scent. No, two vampire scents. One was significantly more attractive than the other, though they both seemed a bit distasteful for her. She wondered what Vahn was doing with a pair of vampires. Fighting them? She smelled no blood. She had discovered the animosity that the Lycans and Vampires had grown towards each other when forced to share an island- granted they hadn't been the best of buddies before, but it was severely worse than in her time. It seemed very out of place to her that Vahn might be having a friendly conversation with a few vamps.

"I suppose there's only one way to find out," she chimed to no one in particular as she flicked some blackened blood off her fingers, stepping away from the mutated animal that had sought to attack her. She continued forwards, towards the famous Plateau, where the scent was originating from. She crossed out from the treeline, mostly ignored by the monsters that seemed to be growing in number. That only meant one thing- there was bigger prey about than herself.

Sure enough, she gazed upwards and laid eyes on the man she'd longed to see for five hundred years. She smiled, and tears began to well in her eyes, though she managed to force them back. "My Lord," she greeted him with a bow as she approached. After all, he was the King, infatuation or not. Glancing at the male and female vampire for only a moment, she looked back at Vahn with a serene expression, seemingly oblivious to the fact that they were basically surrounded by disfigured monstrosities. "It's been quite a while. Beautiful evening, isn't it?" Well, it was to her, anyways.

xxxxThe approaching storm shook Raya out of her grief, and she stood up. There was no mistaking the signs, there was rogue magic about. There was no stopping it at this point. She wiped her eyes, and resolved to put the incident behind her forever, and become once again the strength that allowed her to leave her home and be what she was, the strength that had saved Vae and the strength that carried them through their journey. She would no longer be grief stricken, she vowed, and would not longer let Vae see her like that. Raya turned and looked at them, surprised to see them talking a distance off. She looked over their heads at the forest behind them and was surprised so see a figure slinking through the forest. She knew instinctively that it was not a threat at this point, and paid it no mind. There were more important thing s to worry about at this point, mainly the ominous clouds that were rapidly approaching the island.

xxxxDalamar smiled at Vahn’s attempt at humor, and allowed the Lycan to slap him on the back a couple times before carefully detaching himself from the older man’s grasp. He was quick to correct the Lycan, not wanting a misunderstanding between them and their tentative relationship. He sensed great things could come from them agreeing and getting along, and didn’t want to jeopardize that in any way. “Oh, I didn’t mean all beings,” he said apologetically, “It doesn’t affect Lycans and Shifters that much.” He nodded at Vahn’s next comment, understanding his complete misunderstanding of the situation. And then agreed with him on the last statement. There was a precarious balance between the two races and one little thing could set them off. He watched as the tall Lycan King turned to go and then stopped.

xxxxSomething howled in the distance.

xxxxIt was the most sorrowful howl either of them had ever heard, rattling their bones and making them cringe and cling to each other. They watched as Vahn reached for his sword and shouted at them. They watched as a pretty female walked out of the forest towards them, and the watched as she made the most startling of statements. “Beautiful evening, isn’t it?”

xxxxRaya blinked, sure that her eyes were deceiving her. Standing in front of her was a pretty female, of indeterminable age, who thought that the rolling clouds, lightning and rising undead lycans were beautiful??? Dalamar was equally confused, and they looked at each other, and then the odd pair before them, and it clicked. She had come here looking for Vahn. And if the look on Vahn’s face was anything to go by, he wasn’t too happy to see her. But Lycans can be deceiving, and there was no telling with this one. Dalamar flickered, and Raya felt an idea enter her consciousness. He did this occasionally, flickering and then whispering an idea to her while he was sped up. It resulted in the idea being planted in her brain. She looked up at him, and he nodded. “Lets go,” he mouthed at her, and the turned and silently began walking away from the other two, staying close to the ledge, and making sure not to look back.

{Ω} "Do you really think you can stand against my might....?" {Ω}

Vahn had been staring down the source of the glowing red eyes. Whatever it was it was waiting for an opening. And Vahn would be ready when it decided to attack. That is until something shocking enough to break Vahn's concentration occured.

A familiar voice reaches Vahn's ears and his head turns sharply to face the source. A look of surprise and confusion on his face, "You! Why...." Is all he gets out before the owner of the red glowing eyes launches it's attack.

Vahn is shaken from his shock when the sound of a roar and the quick movement reaches his ears. He turns back just in time to raise his sword and defend against the vicious attack. Claws rake against metal and gnarly teeth gnash inches from his face. And Vahn's heart sinks when he see's what had just attacked him. It was a lycan, disfigured and undead, but a lycan all the same.

Vahn closes his eyes and turns his head away in sorrow. A moment later he turns back to the creature that is still trying to bite his face off. Sorrow no longer in his eyes. Only determination. His sword begins to glow with the faint silver energy of the moon, "I'm sorry my brother...." Vahn pushes back against the creature, swinging his blade out in a powerful move that sends the disfigured lycan flying towards the treeline. In one fluid motion Vahn directs his sword behind his back and swings it overhead. The heavy blade slams into the ground before him and a wave of silver energy rushes towards the disfigured lycan, still in flight. It collides with the disfigured lycan and in a brilliant flash of silver light it destroys it completely.

Vahn raises his sword from the ground and rests it on his shoulder. Frowning as more creatures step from the treeline. Some are recognizable as lycan and even vampire. Others are so deformed that they no longer resemble what they used to be. They were surrounded. Vahn keeps his eyes on the creatures before him but directs his question to Alexia, "Why.....why are you here woman....." He didn't know how to react. She was lycan, and as king he is sworn to protect all his kin. But she also committed unspeakable acts....what should he do now he wonders.

{Ω} "Do you truly think you can stand against the might of a king!?" {Ω}
