On the south side of the Island, directly between the east and west side of the island is a small harbor town run by both Vampire and Lycan, this town is a neutral zone were trade happens. Here is were you may begin your journey in relative safety, but once you leave these walls you are fair game to either side.

Well, the Quest did say the character was last seen around here...so common sense dictates it would most likely be the best place to check first. It was a quaint little harbor to hang out at when you've got no other place to get to in a hurry, unless your a trader. For both vampire and lycan alike, there is a slight awkwardness between the two races when they collide here, seeing how the two of them just got out of a war with each other, but somehow everything was holding out. "Now if I only knew who exactly I was looking for..." Kross wondered, sliding his way between a crowd of vampires. They gave Kross a group glare as he began to move on, as much as he wished to show them what for, his profession didn't allow for any hostility...which made this quest even more difficult. Kross must admit though, this rogue picked quite the hiding spot, if he assumed that the rogue was a vampire. The quest did describe the event in such a way where you would believe it was a vampire who planted the poison...either way, Kross was on the case and he wouldn't stop until he had brought this character to justice.

Vampire Venom The crowded streets of the Neutral harbor town were a buzz with rumors of the dark ominous clouds seen in the distance. They were slowly moving towards the harbor town. The black lightning that flashed across the horizon were also a cause for concern.
Then suddenly the clouds appeared over the Neutral harbor town without warning. They just seemed to appear from thin air. Or maybe they where there all the time? What ever the case the crowded streets were, for once in a hundred years, quiet. Quiet as the citizens looked up at the clouds with breathes held. Then the lightning struck. It struck a citizen, his body engulfed in black fire as it began to twist and deform. Becoming a horrible creature of nightmares. Then panic. People screaming and running in every direction as the black lighting struck more people. Turned more into horrible monsters.
Through the commotion a shady looking man bolted out of an alleyway. He trips over a freshly slain body and a small vial flies from his hands. A look of despair is on the shady man's face as the vial smashes against the ground. The vicious looking liquid seems to dissolve the very stone. A nearby rat sniffs at the fumes and instantly curls up as it's body is wracked with convulsions. It is still seconds later. The shady man looks around as if to see if he had been caught and pushes his way through the panicked crowds towards the docks.

The panic of the crowds about him caught him off guard, these ominous clouds were definitely dangerous, but it lead to helping Kross discover his enemy, at the cost of a life from these odd creatures being conjured from the lightning, his eyes discovered a character falling and stumbling over the corpse. The first question that came to his mind when he saw the liquid fall and dissolve the stone was how such a thing got into the Lycan castles? But when the man began to flee in haste, he quickly broke out of thought and began to chase the man down towards the docks. "Hey! Stop where you are!!!" Kross yelled in a failed attempt to grasp his attention long enough to get a hold of him. Unfortunately he wasn't his only enemy, now that these lightning creatures were beginning to sprout up, Kross could only hope that none would focus on him in his attempt to chase the man down.

Vampire Venom The shady man turns his head to look behind him as he runs. Somehow knowing that Kross was shouting at him. If he had been paying attention to what was in front of him. The shady man would have noticed the foul creature that steps in his path.
A vicious clawed hand pierces the mans stomach. A look of surprise replaces the fear on his face as he turns to look at his attacker. The creature hisses in the man's face and tosses him to the ground. The man feebly tries to cover the gaping hole that now adorns his stomach. And the creature raises it's now bloody claw to finish the man off.
People are still screaming and running in all directions. Some to the docks. Others duck into their house only to come bolting out moments later. Being chased by a changed family member. No one comes to the aid of the man being assaulted. And in a few moments any clues he had would be silenced forever.

Kross continued on, his eyes glowing red, his Feral mode had been activated! A burst of speed came into his legs, and his hands began to shape themselves into claws. Kross leaped wildly, claws in front of him, and dived onto the creature, his claws jutting into the back of the beast's shoulders. Having seen the terrible abuse the shady man's body had gone through, he assumed he wasn't going to be able to go anywhere anytime soon, so all of his focus was placed on defeating these creatures brought in by the ominous clouds. Kross didn't have time to think about how or why these creatures showed up when they did, but they sure did a good job of getting Kross' attention.

Vampire Venom The shady man watches his attacker get mauled with a grin of satisfaction. He coughs up blood, "So they finally caught up to me eh?" He coughs again as the life slowly leaves his body. "Well you won't find the lair, no sir, you wont!" He reaches into his clothes and pulls out a small slip of paper. He brings it to his mouth in an attempt to chew it up. But the piece of paper never makes it. His eye's dull and his hand falls heavily to his side.
Whether he knew who Kross was was to be questioned. Perhaps in his last moments he just assumed someone was sent after him. Whatever the case. The piece of paper clenched tightly in his dead hand was important enough to try and destroy.
More creatures begin to appear as the lightning continues to fall. People where rushing aboard ships and boats alike to escape the doomed town. A few run away into the surrounding wilderness. Probably hoping to seek refuge in the castles of the two races. Two more of the mutated creatures surround Kross. Each one more hideous than it's brethren. The only similarities was the fact that they where hideously mutated. Their skin stretched to splitting. Muscles exposed in places. Even bone being exposed to the light of the sun.

As disfigured these new enemies appeared to be, it really didn't quite get to him, reminded him of the undead with twice as many problems. The man's insipid final words grabbed his attention as he reached for a note, but before Kross could begin to make his way to him, a pair of the mutated freaks decided to persist atop of his patience. "You guys are getting annoying..." Kross said plainly before pouncing onto the closest one, with a roar and a tear with his claw, Kross sunk his teeth straight into the mutant's shoulder blade, just almost reaching the bone. While Kross still had the mutant in his locked jaw, his claws clenched onto his arms tightly before using his hold on him to rotate the mutant in a whole 180, throwing the mutant into the air and heading towards the other one. Kross spat out the blood he got from the mutant in disgust. "Ewugh...your worse than the vampires!..."Kross complained before making a rush towards the corpse of the shady man, tearing the paper out of his clenched hand and fleeing to safety before examining the details of the parchment. Kross could only hope the Mutants were slower than they were mutated.

Vampire Venom On the bloodied slip of parchment one can barley make out the scratchings of a map. With some luck and brains one can figure out that the map leads to a forgotten sewer system under the Neutral Harbor Town. The entrance of which - ironically - is next to the local Quest Master hut. The map then seems to shift. As if alive! The scratchings moving and repositioning themselves. And reveals the extensive tunnels of the sewers. A trail of blood traces itself through the drawings of the tunnels. Obviously pulled by the magic now apparent in the parchment. It finally stops on what looks like a large room within the sewers.
All around Kross the chaos still reigns. But it seems that the creatures are too preoccupied with hunting easier prey then to go after one who had just killed three of them. But who knows what these monstrosities will do when they've run out of easy prey....

Luckily none of the mutants seemed to bother with Kross, so he had the safety to attempt to wrap his head around the map he attained. "This looks like it's bigger than I thought..." Kross said, noticing the magic abound within the parchment. He begins to shape where he is going according to the map and begins to follow the trail it sets. It became clear to see that this was some system of sorts, too complex to be the town itself, so it must mean it was beneath the Harbor. The more he folowed the map, the more he realized he was retracing his steps back to the Quest Master, but that wasn't the main thing that was on his mind right now. The map revealed an entrance to the sewers with a blocked hole, easily unblocked with a little brute force, and down into the sewers Kross went.
It was slightly difficult to see, the smell too unbearable to keep his Feral Mode from going on, but luckily there were dimly lit torches to help Kross keep his steps on concrete and not into the disgusting sludge that encased the canals in the sewers. He squinted back to the map and continued on the right path. "Man...if I had known that mutants and sewers were on today's 'quest agenda' I wouldn't have accepted this stupid offer..." Kross mumbled irritatingly to himself.

Vampire Venom The sewers didn't go on for very long. The familiar walls and floors of the sewers ended suddenly into a series of carved out caves and tunnels. It seemed like these caves have been here even before the Neutral Harbor was built. Seems like whoever started building a sewer system down here gave up. Rats and other small creatures scurry about and seem to ignore the new intruder in their home. In fact they all seem to be running in one direction. Away from the harbor town.
Voices echo from down the tunnels and just ahead one can make out a faint fire. And the outlines of two figures. Whether they are friend or foe is yet to be seen.
