For those of you who don't know, Urban Terror is a mod of Quake, aparently the newest version (4) doesn't even require Quake though because it has its own engine or something like that.

Anyway, I should probably explain the game a bit. There are free4all modes, but Urban Terror is really meant to be a team based FPS (and it does this really well). On each server there is a red team and a blue team, you can compete on a wide variety of realistic*1 maps and play games such as capture the flag, team survivor, team death match, and bomb mode. In capture the flag you have to steal the opposing teams flag (usually located relatively close to their spawn area) and bring it back to where your flag is, if both teams have the other's flag then they can not score a point until they recover their own flag, when players are killed they usually spawn when the team spawn timer gets to zero. Team death match is kind of like CTF because you have the same spawn point and you spawn at a certain time, but instead of scoring points for retrieving a flag you score points for killing another player. Team survivor (which is my favorite mode because it is realistic) is where everyone spawns at once in the same area (teams in different areas) and you have to eliminate all players on the opposing team, if you die you are out till the next round. Bomb Mode isn't played much, but one team tries to plant a bomb and the other tries to stop them (the only game where teams have different goals).

Another great part of this game is you get to totally customize your weapon set. There are 5 categories of weapons; large/medium guns, medium guns, sidearms, grenades, and items. You can choose different combinations, but you are limited to the amount of things you can have. the large/medium guns include assault rifles, sniper rifles, machine guns, a grenade launcher, and a shotgun. The medium guns include the machine guns and the shotgun from the large/medium category. The sidearms are two pistols. There are smoke and explosive grenades. And the items are anything from a tactical goggles to Kevlar. The weapons aren't futuristic or old school, which makes the game feel more realistic.

Another great thing about this game is that it runs on very low specs, I only have an integrated Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE and I can usually play at 30-60 and sometimes 70 FPS.

1: When I say the maps are realistic I am not talking about the graphic quality, I'm talking about the setting.

Sounds cool I'll have to look into that. Does any one remember Sauerbratten?
It's an open source shooter using the cube engine. It's two outstanding features was Its In-game editor and the amazing German metal sound track.
The Editor works just like forge mode in halo 3, only from ground level(I think that may be where bunjie got there idea)

Hmm, methinks I'll give this a whirl. My username will be the same as my Gaia name.
