Roles

Commanding Officer:

Squad Leader, Commander, the Commanding Officer can have a number of different names. However, the job is quite uniform. The Commanding Officer of a squad leads his men in combat, and oversees whatever operation his squad is participating in. He is usually armed simialar to a standard Rifleman, except with some command items such as: maps, a laptop, gps, or binoculars.

Communications:

The Communications man, sometimes known as radio man, is in charge of communicating with other squads and Command. Radio man is misleading seeing as the modern Communications soldier has more than a simple radio at his disposal. He will often be beside the Commanding Officer, ready to send any info that comes up. Some common equipment used is: advanced radio, telecommunications backpack, GPS, and headset.

Engineer:

The Engineer has one of the most diverse array of duties of any member of the squad. The Engineer not only carries some repair equipment for vehicles, but also explosives for demolition. The demolition aspect is the more frequently used, as typically, vehicle crews are trained in mechanics. The Engineer could be used for demolitions on things from bridges to parked tanks. Specialty equipment used by the Engineer is: tool kit for simple repairs, satchel charges, detonators, and claymores.

Heavy Gunner:

The Heavy Gunner carries the squad automatic and is responsible for laying down covering fire while the rest of the unit advances or withdraws. The Heavy Gunner differs from a "Machine Gunner" because a Machine Gunner is usually not one person, but a team with a large machine gun. The Heavy Gunner however is one man with a squad automatic, a smaller machine gun that can be used by just one man. The Heavy Gunner is usually one of the larger men in the squad to ensure he can move as quickly as the rest of the squad even with the larger gun and more ammo. The special gear used by a Heavy Gunner is: squad automatic weapon, and extra rounds for it.

Marksman/Scout:

The Marksman is responsible for long range observation and take-takedown. The marksman doesen't lead ahead of the squad as the secondary role of scout would suggest, he simply uses his scoped weapon to help the Commanding Officer see what's ahead. The Marksman differs from a Sniper in the sense that a Sniper is usually in a one-man squad, getting behind enemy lines to wreak havoc on the officer corps. of the enemy; A Marksman stays with his squad and takes care of any target or targets out of range of standard rifles or machine guns. The equipment used by a Marksman is: high powered sniper rifle, scopes, and an optional guillie suit.

Rifleman:

The Rifleman is the standard unit in a squad. While most roles such as Communications, Commanding Officer, and Engineer, are essentialy Riflemen with secondary duties, Riflemen have no secondary objective to tie them down, so they can excel at marksmanship and tactics. The Rifleman is the most versatile role, with the largest array of weapons, capable of fighting best at medium and short range, but still somewhat capable of long range. The Rifleman usually has a heavier weapon for tanks or bunker-busting, and grenades for clearing buildings. The basic equipment for Rifleman is the base for all the other roles: body armor, helmet, knee and elbow pads, tactical belt with pouches for equipment and spare ammo. However the Rifleman is the only role that carries: grenade launchers, anti-tank rockets, or RPGs.

Okay seeing as how I'm General of the armored division I'm going to be the tank commander. The rest of the tank crew spots will be filled by NPCs. (none player characters) If you want to join the armored division just fill out an application form. Then you will get your own tank to command.

Captain
