Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass sat on the rooftop of a tall building. Techincally she was looking for homicides. Mostly she was trying to look mysterious and magical. She yelled down to her young ward who was sitting boredly on the sidewalk below. "HOW... ABOUT... NOW?!" she screamed. Forensiclad rolled his eyes. "NO." he shouted tiredly. "A LITTLE MORE TO THE LEFT." She scooched obligingly. "NOW?!!" She yelled. He squinted up at her. "YEAH!" he screamed back. The moon was now directly behind her ion his line of sight. "HOW DOES IT LOOK?!" she yelled down at him. "VERY MYSTICAL." he lied. He wanted to just go home already. Granted, 'home' was Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass's very glittery and girly underground hideout, but at least it was heated. He shivered in the nighttime chill. He would hug Bitey for warmth but he thought it might give him rabies.

Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass beamed. She looked mystical. Looking mystical was good for finding homicides, she was pretty sure. It had been a quiet night, sure, but now she looked mystical someone would surely be obliging enough to get murdered so she could race picturesquely to their aid. Wouldn't the Inspector be proud?

Inspector Dylan Ackart considered everyone to be weird. It was all her fault too. She... Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass... She was the weirdest but he couldn't get her out of his head. He saw her everyday when he went to work and sometimes even seeing her outside of his window. He didn't live in some hole in the ground like she did. He lived in the office. His room was on the second floor of the office. There was a secret staircase inside the closet of his office that lead straight to the second floor which was one big room with a washroom and shower so he could wash his manly abs.

Today, he drifted back and forth. He didn't want to go back to the office just yet. Wandering the dark streets, it was pretty safe for a mouse like him. No cat would come near him since he reeked of sweat from a long day. He wrapped himself tightly in his trench coat to keep warm. He looked ahead and saw Forensiclad before him.

"Hey Kiddo!" He called out, running towards the young blonde haired boy who also, felt the wrath of oh-so-crazy Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass.

ForensicLad saw Dylan coming. ForensicLad liked Dylan. He was a hard working man who really didn't deserve to be Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass's boss. Singlehandedly she had driven away all the other homicide detectives and made the poor man's life miserable. it wasn't even his fault. He had just told her that vigilantism was frowned upon once and all of a sudden she was working for him.

Life could be so unfair.

ForensicLad tried to shoo the man away to give him a fighting chance to escape from her.

It was too late. Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass saw her boss with her hawklike gaze long before the shooing began. She had developed an enormous crush on Dylan the first time she ever saw him, way back when she was Magical Girl Love-Love Lass. Working for him only made her like him more. She giggled around him even more than usual while trying her hardest to be mature and totally and completely attractive. Quickly, she reached into her uniform's secret pocket and took out the lady magazine she had stolen accquired from a friendly citizen earlier that day. 'HOW TO GET MEN, pg. 12' it exclaimed exuberantly on the cover. She flipped to it. The first piece of advice was to wear a low cut top. She looked at her sailor's outfit and untied the ribbon, which caused absolutely nothing to happen since the ribbon did not affect her outfit collar at all. But it was about the best she could do. Step two said to put her hair up nicely. She lifted it up hopefully but it just flopped back down again. Pouting, she looked at the next step. Short skirt. She looked at her uniform. Check! Enthusiastic, and figuring one step right was better than nothing, she jumped down from the tall roof and landed right next to the Inspector and, due to the velocity of the fall, also four feet in the ground. Since she was magical, she clambered out, semingly unharmed. She looked around and pretended to be surprised when she saw the Inspector. "Why Inspector," she gasped, winded from the fall but giving an attractive voice her best shot. ForensicLad sighed exasperatedly. "Fancy meeting you here!"

Dylan looked at the young boy who seemed to chase him away. He slowed his pace and stopped in front of the boy. "What's wrong? murderer got your tongue?" He asked with a chuckle, unaware of the danger that lay from standing where he was. "augh you look like you're freezing!" He said as he scratched behind his ear and took off his trench coat for Forensiclad. He put it over the small boy's shoulders. It almost touched the ground when the young lad wore it. It'd be bad if his only source of sanity were to get sick and die in a mysterious homicide, er... epidemic.

Moments later, something dark and eerie fell beside him. It was Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass (boy, is that a mouthful D: ). "You. What're you doing here so late at night? A kid like you should have a curfew." He said sternly. "And dress properly. Where's your ribbon. Don't go losing it." He added as he finished buttoning up Forensiclad. He wasn't a big fan of Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass being all womanly. It just makes his job that much harder.

ForensicLad groaned and shot Dylan an 'I told you to run' look. The older man's coat was wrapped around his shoulders, and her grabbed it to stay warm, but felt guilty. The coat had been Dylan's downfall.

Magical Girl Homicide Detective lass deflated. Mission failed, he didn't notice! But maybe he was just being coy. Her magazine talked about coy too. Maybe SHE should try to be coy? She didn't really know how to do that. The magazine said it had to do with blinking a lot, so she batted her eyelashes while she spoke. "Oh goodness, it must have untied itself!" she offered, looking at the limp ribbon on her uniform so usually tied in a neat bow. "How gallant of you to notice." she trilled. "But I'm working because YOU put me on this shift, silly. Don't you remember? I do, from 2 to 10!" She looked at him petulantly before she saw the clock tower in the distance and realized her shift had ended an hour ago. She had been having so much fun looking for homicides that she hadn't noticed. "Oh! Is my shift over?" she exclaimed disappointedly. "I was hoping to have even more fun though!" She looked upset, and even more upset when she remembered that he had called her a kid. A kid?! NO ONE was romantically interested in kids except *****, and ***** were frowned upon in polite society. She was fairly sure the Inspector counted as polite society. Did this mean all her flirting was for nothing? her girlish blue eyes filled with tears. "K-kid?" she whimpered. "I-I am NOT a kid!"

Dylan raised one eyebrow at the girl and then looked down at the young boy. "Come on Foresniclad, you can stay at the office tonight since tomorrow you guys have day shift with me." He told the little boy. "Bitey'll feed himself." He reassured, almost completely ignoring the teenage girl.

He looked at her with a funny expression as she continued her small rant about how he put her on the shift. He only did it because it wasn't that late for a girl her age, even if she wasn't yet an adult like him. If he were human, he wouldn't have been more than 26 years of age, the perfect time for him to be finding a wife and settling down somewhere where homicides weren't his business.

He sighed gently, walking away from Foresniclad and towards Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass. "ugh, come on. stop that. you'll look ugly if you do that." He didn't know what to say. He had a weakness to girl's crying. He wouldn't know what to say or what to do when it happens.

Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass looked up at him with tear-stained eyes. "I keep -hic- telling you, I'm 21..." She sniffed pathetically. "If I looked 21 would you take me seriously?" Not even Forensiclad could know if she was telling the truth. 21 was a very improper age for a magical girl. Most quit at 20. She wiped her eyes. "I need to go back to base now." she said. "Bitey will be getting worried, I sent him back home to make us cocoa..." She glanced at the inspector at an angle calculated to make men feel stabs of guilt, blue eyes radiating hurt pride. "Would you like to have some cocoa?" she asked innocently.

Foresniclad winced. Usually she saved the LOOK for hardened criminals.

He knew she couldn't be 21. She looked too young. And many people who looked that young when they were 21, would say they were 18 or something. Just something with spunk, saying that they'd be prepared for any one night stands with an older man.

"eh.. er.... um..." He stuttered uncontrollably. "I would but..." He looked into her eyes. That was the look she used when she was desperate (or at least that's what he thought). "oh fine." He sighed eventually to the two. "I'm sure Bitey won't mind making an extra cup, right?" He joked. Who really knew what Bitey was thinking in that rabid racoon mind of his.

ForensicLad muttered something about not trusting the raccoon to do anything except froth into the cocoa mugs. It turned out he was right. On arriving back at base, Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass looked disappointedly at Bitey, who was drooling and growling on the rug, having ripped the cocoa packets open with his teeth and then lost interest. "Biteyyyy, you have to do your bit around here sometimes." she scolded the raccoon. "Those were the last cocoa packets." she said, upset. "Now I have to make some with baking chocolate. She looked at ForensicLad. "You and Bitey keep the Inspector company, I'll be right back. ForensicLad waited until she left the room, and collapsed gratefully on the couch. "Bloody hell, what a long night." he said.

Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass's base used to be pink, but now it was a mix of pink fluff and bloody black, to go with her new homicide theme. The combination was bizzare, and her pink couches had a new rip-and-bloodstain pattern of flowers on it. She was trying to keep up with her new image, but her personality just didn't match.

The inspector hadn't really been into the place often, but the one thing that stood out to him was the pink. he didn't like pink. not on girls. nor of couches. but if Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass liked it, he was fine. He saw the raccoon when they arrived. It was doing a pretty good job being a raccoon...

After the long argument and scolding that took place, he decided to take a seat next to ForensicLad who had plopped himself down on the couch. that was bright pink and red... "come here Bitey. Remember me?" Inspector Dylan said hopefully getting to play with Bitey again whether it be tear-Dylan's-clothes-to-shreds or chase-Dylan-up-against-a-bookshelf-with-a-foaming-mouth. It seemed like a good idea at first but always ended up something bad.

Bitey's mad eyeballs roamed across Dylan's face, and he decided that yes, yes he did remember Dylan, and he was also quite eager to renew the accquaintence. He snarled and leapt just as ForensicLad lunged at him with a needle, injecting something into the animal. "Tranquilizer." he explained as Bitey woozily fell on the carpet. "I use em on him when she isn't looking." The youn boy sighed. He had certainly drawn a strange lot in life, and it wearied him enormously. "What do you think? Of her, I mean. In general." He looked around the room and gestured to all the great imbalance of personality the decor said about its owner.

He watched as Bitey eyed him. He thought he was recognized but then Dylan watched as the fast movement went around his eyes. He pouted in a disappointed fashion. "aw man. I wanted to play with the little guy!" He said as he kneeled down next to the raccoon and stroked the midnight black fur he had. "Oh you mean... Magical Girl Homicide Detective Lass? Well... She's fine i guess. She should act her age more often. i'd like that..." He replied as he continued to pet the poor unconscious raccoon.

ForensicLad apologized. "it's just that I don't want him attacking me on top of everything else today... It'll wear off in a bit." he insured the Inspector. "So would I." he responded grimly about his boss, when suddenly the very person came in. Like most magical girls, her cooking was magical and the four steaming mugs of hot cocoa were gorgeous, with a generous dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle on cinnamon on top. "Oh, is Bitey tired?" she crooned at her raccoon. "Well, it's hot cocoa time, so wake up!" She tapped him on the nose, and Bitey woke up. "Whosagoodlittleracconthen?" she said to her pet, rubbing his head fondly.
