Do you have to be a mod to start a new topic in any of the threads? Or so we have to stick with the ones that're there already?

No, you do not have to be a mod to create a new topic, but be careful to post topics in the correct forums.
(i.e., A topic about what you ate for lunch at school would go in the "OOC" sub-forum, and a topic about the lovely painting you've drawn would go in "The Sacred Grounds", the art sub-forum.)
Anything pertaining to Centaur life on and off Gaia and Guild happenings belong in the main forum, "The Meadow".

I was thinking something like... I guess hunting or training of sorts on one's own? Would either of those go in the training area?

I think such things should be posted in one's journal, that way you could link us to your entries when the time calls for reading them.
It's much more neat and clean that way. :3
