Scenerio 3: DAMMIT D<

Kanda had regretted bringing up a specific topic before Yossarian had fully healed. The idea of going to the mainland.

Because that had made the last two weeks of staying at the Inn and making sure the other mercenary could walk without a crutch (AKA his 'nurse', as she insisted) and handle a trip on an airship hell.

A hell which had multiplied the day she'd finally marked Yossarian off as 'Nicely healed' with a calm face then practically exploded with excitement. Which had meant for the last couple of days everybody had been subjected to shattered sleep.

Kanda had vouched for his tree again in order to rest at all.

Only that morning had he come in to find that Asteria was more awake than she normally was (though still half dead), giving the girl a scowl, before he proceeded to get his normal routine of tea and at least attempt a bite of each of the other disasters of breakfast, taking a seat at the table with the most pleasant company of all the group to hold one of their pointless, yet somehow fufilling conversations....

While Asteria plowed down poor Yossarian with excitement.

This dreadfulness had only intensified once they were on the Airship.

It was like telling a little kid they were going to Disneyland a month ahead of time. She'd started counting down and taking special care to make sure Yoss healed up before she annoyed all living hell out of him. Well, moreso than before.

Heck, she'd probably even annoyed that old couple a tad, bouncing and gleeing and staying up all night to giggle and imagine.

Obviously she'd never been to the mainland before.

The day of she'd been doubly annoying, all the way onto the ship......... UNTIL IT TOOK OFF.

Then suddenly she'd all but doubled over, making a noise like some species of dying animal with motion sickness, practically clinging to the seats they were obliged to take until the ship had settled, and overall she looked about ready to puke on someone.

Unfortunately that left either Yoss or Shae as the victim.

... Two weeks.

Yossarian-Lang Romanovitch Vandrooghenbroeck the XIII had just spent two weeks not only suffering a (frustratingly DULL) recovery, but coping with the endless enthusiasm of one absolutely maddening she-beast because of a stupid idea proposed by that IDIOTIC b*****d that shouldn't have been treated as anything but PERFECTLY MUNDANE...

Well, at least he could walk again without any discomfort (or the insistence of his mollycoddling little 'nurse') and, when the morning of departure finally came about, he was MORE than ready to just get on the damned ship, get to their destination, and be done with it.

Dressed in his usual violet-gray shirt and off-white pants, the dark male was back to his old grouchy self once again, taking a seat in the craft's (rather shoddy looking) passenger deck and only giving Aster a brief glance as the steam engines warmed up.

It was obvious that he was used to strange methods of travel-- after all, that was... more or less the life of a mercenary, roving from place to place in search of work. Things like this were nothing special in his book.

Shae seemed to be handling the whole affair with a similar nonchalance, having accepted the 'moving' proposal with her usual passive obedience and nothing more. Breakfast that morning had been pleasant enough, sharing a brief exchange with her usual partner in crime and fellow tea-drinker before they had set off to board, making sure that Del was firmly secured in her pocket to avoid any... er, mishaps along the way.

Time and a bit of rest had done wonders for her-- and not just when it came to healing up a bruised skull and jellied brain. A few odd chess games and rounds of Blackjack (or so could only be assumed) had given her enough spare change to get a black carry-bag with a few odds and ends inside. They were bare essentials for the most part: bandages, cards, string, needles, thread, a cracked fold-over chessboard with mismatched pieces, a bottle or two of other miscellaneous things...

Oh, and a little box that she had made a point of digging out as the ship started to dig into and... chew on the contents of, wincing a little at the rickety takeoff and shrinking in her seat.

Funny, Koshka were said to be a people of the sky, but there she was, and Aster too, looking a little less than thrilled for... various reasons.

And poor Yossarian had to tolerate the LOT of them until they reached Salig.

JOY.

More and more it seemed Kanda and Yossarian were finding MORE in common.

Kanda hated it. With that manly 'I am my own person' passion that gave him a certain degree of angry faces. Damned alikenesses, yet at the same time, so -not-. Why couldn't there be more of the not? Because fate was an evil b***h, that was why.

Happily, or as much so as he could be in current company, the girls had been intelligent enough to sit Kanda and Yossarian as far away from each other as possible.. while keeping Asteria away from him as well. It was brilliant. As brilliant as being trapped with two people he'd rather have hidden in a freezer to DIE could be.

Kanda shot the airsick Asteria a look before sighing. A very annoyed sounding sigh that was soon followed by a frown.

There were a few minutes where Kanda was moreso forced to stay sitting, cursed 'formalities', which upon the time they were allowed to get up, Kanda was -UP-. Because as fun as SITTING for HOURS sounded, he really wasn't up for it, instead vouching to go take a gander around the Airship.

As undying curious as she was to go investigate the Airship as well, Asteria was too busy feeling SICK, slouching in her chair as she would have any morning when she was still half-awake, and pulling her shirt up over her mouth and nose.

And groaning. Yes, she had to share the sudden WAVE of misery she was feeling with the rest of the group, arms crossed over her stomach and continuing to sink....

Until she eventually was back to her defaulted place of the morning known as the floor, earning her some -odd- glances from others who were looking over to make sure that Yossarian or Kanda hadn't killed her (or rather to make sure nobody was dead), only to get the picture and look away again.

Overall, her airsickness was a bane to sanity.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 7:41 pm

Of course Kanda and Yossarian were finding more in common-- with their shared love for scowling, pretty-boy exteriors, and odd obsessiveness with the sword arts... why, they could've very easily been cousins! Hell, they could've come from the same womb!

... Yossarian, of course, would be denying their like-mindedness to his dying day, standing firmly by the (DELUSIONAL) belief that he was ABSOLUTELY nothing like the b*****d. Nothing!

Nested in his seat (a creaky contraption with stained 'upholstery' and one particularly annoying spring in the rear cushion that wouldn't stop poking him in the back), the dark male busied himself with... well, brooding as the ship gained its altitude and puttered along, glaring lamely up at the front cabin wall with a sort of...

Well, it wasn't as much boredom as it was disgruntlement and, most of all, exasperation, thanks to a certain adjacent someone and her aura of SICKLY. Joy.

"... You're unused to air travel, aren't you, woman," he asked over his shoulder (with a deep sigh), though it sounded more like a statement than a question.

Huh, now that Shae thought about it... the situation seemed a little peculiar. Not terribly so, of course, and not NEAR enough to raise a warning bell, but... the passenger cabin could hold at least thirty people but, aside from the four of them, she only counted... hmm, one, two, five, six-- eight heads, and they all appeared to be...

No, that had to be coincidence. It was nothing more than a silly observation of no significance whatsoever.

Still... why would a group of Mensch be headed to the Koshka capital?

But she stayed in her seat and chewed passively on a fragment of candied ginger anyway, gazing out the window to watch the world passing by underneath them and suppressing a little shudder.

At least they'd be done with this and back on the ground soon enough. That was what she'd look forward to.

Once she was able to settle herself back in the seat she'd previously flung herself out of she paused, made sure her stomach was settled from the unusual activity, before forcing a smile to answer Yoss's question.

"'Unused' being that I've never been to the mainland in my life." she replied, before groaning and sinking back into her chair, happily oblivious to the rather.. -nice- group of life that seemed to be aboard the airship to a Koshka capital.

If she had noticed it, she might have actually made a comment, but she was too busy trying to make sure she wouldn't be sick. That wouldn't have been pleasant for anybody. Ultimately she settled on closing her eyes and leaning back in her chair.

Theeerrrree.. that felt so much better. Except now she could tell just how odd the cabin smelt to her. It was a step below extreme clean and something smelt particularly....

...

GROAN. The feeling of mush in her head and the airsickness quieted her thoughts rather nicely. In fact, it would be a nice -quiet- trip.

There was something out of place to Kanda. They -were- on a passenger ship, there was plenty of walking room as would be expected in any other case but... he'd yet to have seen much of a 'staff' walking around. Which gave him a sinking suspicion that something was wrong.

Which furthered for him to check it out, peering into some doors with a light 'Sorry, wrong door' when he earned particularly malicious looks from the passengers (Mench?) on the other sides of some of them.....

Something was -definately- up, but he forced himself to think nothing off it upon his return back to the cabin, taking his seat next to Shae back with a particularly unhappy look on his face, before shooting a leer to Yossarian, then a quick jerk of his head to the other passengers.

Manly Mercenary code for 'YOU'RE SMART ENOUGH TO PICK THIS UP', before he too took to looking out a window.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 8:35 pm

It was a benign observation, she kept telling herself, there was absolutely nothing wrong here...

And yet the nagging suspicion only intensified when Shae spotted the return of her wayward companion, frowning faintly at the sight of Kanda's scowl. Granted that he was usually scowling at least a little, but this wasn't the usual default expression; it was a 'something is up and I'm clearly NOT AMUSED by it' look, and that never, ever boded well.

... Dammit, there really was something horribly amiss, wasn't there?

This wouldn't end well.

"... Sir?" Even her whisper was cautious, shrinking a little lower in her seat just under the basic instinct of 'WANT TO HIDE FROM BAD FEELING PEOPLE'.

"... Well, perhaps you shouldn't have been so needlessly ardent for the experience," Yossarian mumbled half-heartedly back at her, not seeming quite put out enough for an outright scold, but at the same time... not particularly sympathetic (since she'd pestered him for DAYS on end over the whole stupid thing). "It would be wise to think ahead in consideration to issues as motion sickness in the future..."

He trailed off a little then, which was unusual, because he was NEVER the type to leave a thought hanging-- but Kanda's little motion hadn't gone unnoticed, and the darker male took in a quick scan of the seats ahead.

Sure enough...

Mensch? All of them? ... Not that he, personally, had ever given much consideration to race, but it was a little strange for pure bloods like that to be visiting a city like Salig.

And stranger still... what had happened to all of the other passengers? And why did he see no Baylk? Or other Koshka (besides the obvious)?...

Dammit, what the hell was going on?...

It wasn't as if they could just waltz up and ask one of the (rather unpleasant looking) fellows or anything, but... Ugh. Just UGH.

It would seem the only one who would get to be happily oblivious was Asteria, who had her eyes shut and thus had not gotten the 'Leer look around' memo as anybody else might have. Heck, she might have missed it all together on account of the dirty look Kanda had used to pass it on.

Those looks bothered her -just- a tad.

"Not like I knew it was gonna happen.." she grumbled back to him with a frown, only seeming to notice that something was up when Yossarian cut off his thought, opening an eye to check and make sure he hadn't suddenly keeled over dead.

Instead she got a face full of a rather.... Huh, she'd seen that expression before. Whhhhhheeeeerrreeee had she seen that expression before? No real time to think about it as suddenly the queasy feeling came back. Okay, she was going to go camp out somewhere where she wouldn't accidentally puke on Yoss and make him throw a fit.

"I'll be back.." she mumbled, before moving to stand.

The end of Kanda's tail flicked back and forth as he stared out the window, watching the scenery pass by slowly, forcing his scowl to remain hardly noticable. In fact, his little head jerk could have been mistaken for a racism thing from his point of view, so he'd let it be played off as that.

Yes, racism. Kanda the racist. Wouldn't have been an unexpected thing... but damn he didn't like the idea of that stigma getting attached to him.

The grumble from Asteria about leaving caused Kanda to glance over his shoulder at the girl, his brain quickly sifting through all the options of just how safe it was to let her leave, it quickly settling on a

'NOT UNTIL WE HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT'S GOING ON', which with another leer was passed on to the male who was closer to keep her seated.

Male-telepathy. What a nice ability it must have been to communicate through leers and glances.

Following this communication he looked to Shae with a lesser 'scowl', lifting his brows ever so slightly and mouthing 'Observational period'.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:38 pm

Yossarian wasn't by any means telepathic-- but quite frankly, he didn't need anyone to prompt him for the action that came next, already three steps ahead of his brooding male counterpart as he reached out reflexively to catch the half-risen Aster by one arm and, using more force than was probably necessary, pulled her right back into her seat again.

He didn't know what the hell was going on, sure, but regardless of that, it felt like a TERRIBLE idea to let ANY of them straggle off by themselves.

Especially the idiotic brain terrorist.

"Sit," he ordered her firmly, pinning her with a glare that read JUST BE QUIET AND DON'T FIGHT ME ON THIS, DAMMIT, before he released her and took to gazing off at nothing in particular once again.

Yes, feigning nonchalance. It was a good skill for a mercenary to have in situations like these.

Now, the whole thing was going to be a stupid waiting game at the powder keg... and they could only sit there until somebody struck a match.

Ob... ser.... Oh! Observational period!

Thankfully, Shae was far more attentive than her fellow female, and gave a subtle nod of understanding as she deciphered Kanda's reply. So... they were just going to sit there and ride it out until something happened? It sounded logical enough, sure, but...

But god, was that a nerve-racking concept.

Not that she showed it, of course, forcing a calm facade as she replaced the little paper box in her carry-bag and checked to make certain that Del hadn't managed some great pocket escape over the past half-hour. Thankfully 'he' was still balled up and snugly secured, which left her with one less worry, but...

Oh, sigh.

It'd be a long day.

Aster groaned as she was thrust back into her seat, before doubling over with the sick feeling intensifying. That was it, next person to throw her around would be puked on if she weren't feeling better by then............

Some 'then'.

It felt like the quartet sort of SAT there for hours and hours to her, whom after finally getting herself some semblance of settled in terms of sick feelings had started tapping her fingers on various surfaces, just to hear them and to probably drive Yossarian nuts for planting her back into her seat to do nothing.

Tap tap tap tap tap

Look around....

Tap tap tap tap...

Another glance around....

She'd totally been expecting Yossarian to snap, when finally one of the Mench hissed at her over their shoulder.

"Bloody 'ell, stop with that confounded rack't fo' I take yer 'ead off fo' it!"

Twitch.. twitch twitch..... "Oi! Just t-"

Well -someone- had happily shut the idiot up, but Kanda felt himself groan as the Mench man turned to hobble over to the pair.. and oh did he bring a certain stench over with him, causing Kanda to crinkle his nose.

It was a rotten meat that had been slathered in salt sort of a smell. You could tell something was totally rancid but it had been covered up.

"Oi, lil' Princ'ss wan'ta finish yer thought?"

As soon as the Mench had hobbled close enough, Kanda carefully drew Mugen to one side to wait and see how this would further out disaster wise, watching the ginger-haired man, then looking to the other Mench men who were in the room, then back out the window.

'Snow.... La'Dor Reaches at least... '

With that confirmed, he leaned to Shae, face practically in her ear to keep the words from being overheard.

"If any of them act strangely I'll force my hand, be prepared to move away from me."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 10:53 pm

... The hours had never felt slower to Yossarian who, once the not-really-crisis of Aster's roving had been solved, promptly settled into a feigned state of torpor to observe the comings and goings of their fellow passengers for... well, a pretty damned lengthy period of time. Had he not been so edgy (all a courtesy of chivalrous instinct), he might've called the whole affair boring.

Sure, there were some scowls and on occasion one grouchy Mensch might shift or mutter something unsavory, but... that was about it, really.

Eyes half lidded, the sound of his little companion's tapping was really all that kept him attentive, twitching occasionally when her nails would strike a little too hard but otherwise remaining curiously passive, right until--

"Bloody 'ell, stop with that confounded rack't fo' I take yer 'ead off fo' it!"

It was remarkable that he tempered his growl at the sudden invasion of the... particularly cranky man who'd just invaded not only his personal space, but his NOSE, assaulting him with a rather unpleasant whiff of decay and... some sort of other rotten smell. Absolutely disgusting!... But no, no, he couldn't make a move just yet. It was too early...

But now the aggressor had turned his attention on the other two and abandoned THEM for more interesting... prey.

For hours, Shae had been on her best and quietest behavior, hunched low in the seat and barely making a sound as she forced her gaze toward the window. It had been a nerve-racking period, but she'd managed to handle it with aplomb-- at least, externally. Inside she was something of a wreck, but... so long as the cool exterior remained, everything would be alright.

... Right?

A discrete nod was in order at her 'leader's' whisper, tensing ever so slightly and stealing a glance when...

"D-Del?!" Wait, when had it gotten loose?! And it was whirling off toward the front of the ********' HELL, WHAT IS THAT THING?!"

"s**t, THEY BUGGED THE GODDAMN ******** IT, WE GOTTA' MOVE."

...... This wasn't going to end well.

Not.

At.

All.

Aster also made a face at how the man smelt, edging closer to Yoss in her seat to try and get away from him, pulling her shirt back up over her nose and groaning.

"He doesn't make my stomach feel any better...." she complained, only to have all hell suddenly break out a few moments later, words being spluttered by all the strangers on board who, catching Asteria's attention for the first time, were MENCH, and scraggly looking ones at that.

And this one is armed..

She was probably not the only one to notice when the middle-aged man's hand go for the gun, having moved seconds before to grab it herself, only to get it straight to her face with a rather nice 'crunch', though it didn't break anything, instead just caused her to reel back and clamp both hands over her face in pain.

The moment the man who was the current-standing 'threat' moved, Mugen was draw, quickly slicing upwards through the air to slice across the man's dominant arm and chest quickly, with an accompanying spurge of blood which, unfortunately, would be all over now.

"They're -definately- up to something." he hissed, though it was an obvious statement now, "Move to where you'll do the most good." he stated, a flat order to the two girls, before he placed Mugen's sheath back to rest in his belt, stepping over the chair he'd been sitting in to prevent any more delay in chasing down the other Mench men whom had fled from the room to make their 'move'.

"Going left here, sure you can still use a sword?" he said, looking to Yoss with the air of a challenge, before he did indeed turn outside the cabin to go left and start causing some damage, possibly get an air of what was going on.

She hit the deck as soon as Kanda started to yell, staring at the man who was now bleeding on the ground with a horrified stare, before looking up to watch Kanda run off after the previously fleeing men.

"Is -that- why I was forbidden to leave?" she asked in disbelief, carefully crawling over the dead Mench to... of all horrors, take a look at all the stuff he had on him, pushing his gun to one side, a long with a knife, a set of keys, a blueprint, a glass cutter, a bag of coins (You bet she was taking that, he didn't need it!), and several folded pieces of paper.

"Dammit, what the hell is going on?!"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:41 pm

Del might've been the one to light the proverbial match and cause a panic, but it was Kanda who raised the (literally) bloody flag of war when he carved up the man who'd just bludgeoned Aster in one swing of his blade. Coincidentally, it was also the trigger for both Shae and Yossarian to take action-- the former frantically ducking below her seat (to avoid a small shower of blood) and the latter drawing his sword with a slick zing of polished metal.

It was on now.

"Of course I'm capable of swordsmanship," Yossarian quipped right back at his rival, dawning a kind of cocky sneer (though he'd glanced back to make sure a certain someone was intact first) and growling, "you couldn't fathom the skill I possess!"

Even in the midst of a miniature war in the sky, those two were still sniping at each other... oy vey.

The remaining Mensch had all raced to the cabin ahead of them now, with only a single dark 30-something man with long hair standing in the doorway and frantically trying to load bullets in a rusty six-shooter. He succeeded just in time to aim it at the charging Yossarian's head... and then witness the gun go flying a split second later. With two fingers still attached to the trigger.

And the noise-- oh, there was PLENTY of that in all directions now! Screaming, screeching, swearing, BANGING, it was practically a battlefield in the middle of the sky.

Just what the hell was going on!?

"s**t, just kill the bastards in the cabin already!" Shae heard someone barking through the wall, having snatched her bag and taken some frantic evasion tactics to stay the hell out of the way. She had no weapon and, sad as it was, very little combat skill to her name. Her best tactic was to just steer clear of the warfare altogether, and she knew it.

Although the sight of a dead body on the ground nearby (being looted by Aster, of all things) was... a little unsettling.

And dammit, where was DEL?! She'd seen him fly off through the door ahead before those men had ran in and...

No.

No no NO. That... was NOT the piloting room ahead.

Granted, her nightmarish thoughts were a one in a million chance, but... Bad Karma didn't usually listen to statistics.

Aster sat, calmly looking over papers for any semblance of information, before finally finding a scrap of paper that looked as though it had been ripped off some bigger document, at most a fourth of the page, holding it up carefully to look at it.

"BURN SALIG"

Big letters, middle of the scrap......

In the hands of the one who couldn't read. Wonderful. "Dammit." she sword, quickly shoving the paper off into her pocket before looking over the others she'd picked up and putting them into neat piles before picking up them, the money that again would serve her better than the dead man, and the weapons.

"Let's try and at least figure out what their goals are!" Aster suddenly chimed, all for the excitement, then paused, swooned a bit, and groaned again with airsickness.

'Oi, there's one of those BEASTS in here still.'

Ugh, the horrible names, she'd almost willed herself to forget about the racism out in the world, groaning to look at the four Mench men who were now looking her (as Shae had gone into hiding like a smart Koshka) with these.. -looks- on their faces.

'To bad that girlies a beast, eh?'

'Well a girl is a girl'

Oh god not the hungry dog look.

So he -could- still use a sword after being out for so long. Kanda wouldn't admit he was impressed, but he would say he wasn't disappointed. If his rival had been capable of failing at such little things it would take all the challenge out of it.

If there was one thing Kanda's feminine-like physique did serve well for, besides jokes about his sexuality, it was the slightly-smaller frame which allowed for him to easily maneuver between firing mench, Mugen held and released from his hands with a practiced fluidity-

A slice here, a release with one hand to use the other to make it rotate full circle using his Palm to keep it on target, a stab and jerk down here...

All so practiced, an unfortunate art in a world of violence and killing.

Which, unfortunately, Kanda could count at least 12 victims of Mugen's blade, though he was sure not all were dead, before he moved to start opening doors...

Only to be shot at from the first he opened.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:22 am

Dammit, how many of these bastards WERE there?!

Shae might've only counted eight or so in the passenger's cabin, but now they seemed to just be coming out of nowhere-- tons of them, all wielding nasty, blood stained weapons and ALL wanting to gut them like a bunch of catfish.

Yossarian had never been partial to the art of killing, but at the same time, he wasn't partial to getting his throat slit either, and the dark male was weeding his way through the tail end of the ship with a SNARL of sheer disgruntlement, man by man. A quick slash, thrust, parry, dodge, remove the limb, sever the bone, kick them out of the way and move to the next in line...

It was with a seething meticulousness that he worked through the ranked, mangling and dismembering and foul cad that dared to point a weapon at him.

Tch, the idiots were all nothing, really-- just howling monkeys with toy swords and guns to wave around. Now, if only their numbers were a little SMALLER!...

Oh no, no no No NO NO, this was NOT GOOD AT ALL!

Poor Shae was stuck in a frantic predicament, cowering behind the seats and watching, just watching, the scene of inevitable horror unfolding before her with Aster and no less than four beastly looking men--

She had to do something. She HAD to do SOMETHING, but what?! Searching frantically for something to go on, her hand brushed across-- ow! ... Wait, no, a piece of broken glass from some window that had gotten shot out in the crossfire. And a big one.

She could hear the mad tick of her racing heart, shaky fingers grasping the shard and steeling herself with a shallow breath. Their backs were turned, they didn't know she was there, she had the fleeting advantage of surprise on her side--

And with that, she sprang out from the seat, practically throwing her full weight into the back of the one man who happened to fall victim... and slamming her pathetic weapon into him horizontally with as much force as she had in her.

The resulting SHRIEK (and the fact that the glass sank in a good three inches before stopping) meant success... but of course, not victory.

There were three more of them, after all... and she'd not only just lost her weapon, but left herself standing wide open with a bloodied palm and no plan of escape.

s**t.

She jerked back suddenly as one of them moved into the cabin a -little- quicker than Asteria would have liked, the fur on her tail pricklng as he got within five feet of her...

and then the bloody shriek came, suddenly snapping both her to attention, and the Mench man to look to Shae with this murderous look on his face...... As well as his two companions.

'Bloody b***h killed Luke!'

'Grab her and hold onto 'er then. She can have a go la-'

In her scrambling to move away from the man who was far too close to her for comfort, Aster heard something she was holding onto drop.. the knife. Unfortunately for the Mench closest to her, therefore her prime assaulter, she quickly picked it back up and also went into the self defense mode...

Jabbing the blade into his stomach with enough force to make her shoulder jerk suddenly and painfully.....

and out of place with a cough of blood all over her left side.

"MOVE."

A whiz of a bullet through his ear and Kanda hissed, not really feeling much of the pain, but knowing he'd been -HIT-, suddenly hitting the floor and using the hardwood as a propellor to roll forwards, standing quickly and bringing Mugen up with him.

Left, right, and spin.

Then another bullet through the ear. Damn, his observational skills were lacking for him if he'd gotten hit -twice-, though in this case he was lucky as they were missing vital things.

The mercenary quickly turned on a foot and swung towards the Mench whom had fired upon him... A young one, who must have been only 15 tops. No older than his little sister.

Stop bringing children into these damn wars!

While all soliders were responsible for their lives as he'd taken them, having to take the life of a kid was something Kanda -never- enjoyed doing.. thus earning the special care for the Mercenary to at least sit the kid up and close his eyes.

A spare sentimentality on the battlefield. Perhaps due to his own childhood being killed in the same bloody mangled way he stepped out of that room to go resume.
