I'll make this look more official in a sec. Mister Walker wanted us to make a thread, so here we go. :D

I have an idea for that homepage. o:

Since there's 3 of us, I'd figure we'd all just do one or 2 pictures each for the homepage. And some pretty little border things.

Also, should we have a theme? Or should we just stick with normal centaurs? It would also help to know what kind of things they're going for on the homepage. x]

All I ask of the artists is to draw large, and have two images. One with a background, one without.

It'd be great if anyone uses vector art, or if anyone doesn't mind me tracing their image in illustrator. I just like vector art, it's nice and smooth.

Here's an example of someone's art that I vectored (with permission):

And since it's a vector I can easily go back in illustrator and make it as large or as small as I want.

    If I had you vector my art, I'd assume you'd want me to ink it instead of just handing you a rough, messy sketch. xD;;
Also, once you've vectored it, is Photoshop ok to color it in with? Or will that get screwy when you change the sizes?

And when you say 2 images, do you mean 2 different or the same image just one with and without a bg?

    Haha. Questions. Sorry. sweatdrop

    EDIT: Oh! Stickied! 8D

You are in charge of the borders, Bo. xD
And I think our guild colours should be brown and green.
Earthy-nature colours. 3nodding
And the borders would look nice as leafy branches. *shrug*
I'm working on a banner at the moment.

I knew you guys would love my mad border making skillz just from one look at that layout picture. cool

But, ok! Once I'm finished with them I'll post them here.
I work tomorrow morning, but I'll try to get them done afterwards. 3nodding

Oh! Did you want to vector the borders as well, Snow? o: I'll remember to keep the coloring on hold then. c:

No, a vector is an image type. It's done using math that way you can change it's size however you like and it won't loose detail. If you don't have adobe illustrator or flash, I'm pretty sure you can't make vector images. You can color them in photoshop, I could just put a black outline and give you the copy to color in. But then it won't be the same type of image so it wouldn't matter unless you want nice, crisp lines.

It's best to bring an image in bigger. It's easier to make something smaller but harder to make something bigger.

And I meant the same image just one without a background, the other with.

I don't think borders are doable with BBC code. I think. We can do what you have set up, but it'll be one block image.

Hold on, let me boot up photoshop and show you what I mean by that.

This is going to be a little long, my apologizes.

Yeah, I don't have either. But if you didn't mind doing it for me, that way will work. c:

    Oh, ok! That's what I figured. o:

What I had planned was that the Guild Title would be an image of it's own and then the borders were more like corner pictures.
An [img right] [img center] [img left] type thing.
And then two on the bottom. :3

I don't usually work with the left and right alignments, I just make it all one big block. XD

I can try though.

Sorry, I kind of complicated it. 8D
OR when we're all finished with our images, you can just shove them together. O:
Which is what I think you were going for in the first place. xD Sorry. You should totally do what makes you feel comfortable. c:
PostPosted: Tue Jul 29, 2008 7:13 pm

Make s**t loads of images and let me smoosh them together. whee

XD

I actually like the set-up I made. How about we get a main image done, a clip of a border that can easily be copy and pasted together, and then smaller images to use as thumbnails?

And when I say thumbnails, I'd still like the original art to be larger then the intended size.

What do you want the thumbnails to be of? Or nothing really specific -- so long as it's centaur related? Because I'll gladly help with making those too. c:

And should we do a collaboration on the main image, guys, or just have one person do it? O:
PostPosted: Tue Jul 29, 2008 7:28 pm

How you do the art is up to you guys, just make sure it's centaur related.

I have sort of a centaur logo thing devised.
You're both familiar with PS, so you could shrink it and mess with the contrast and whatnot until it's a sillfaghasgsdfsoutte (sp?) for other uses like a brand of sorts, and sticking it on banners and whatnot.
