Okay, what spawned this question is the fact that my friend and I were watching Blade Runner yesterday while RP-ing Les Miserables. We were unable to determine if Enjolras would be a Replicant-in-hiding or would merely be mistaken for one, if the two verses were merged. I'm curious to know what your opinions are on this matter. (The empathy test, btw, is designed to test emotional reactions.)
My friend's view is that it wouldn't matter if Enjolras was a Replicant or not, he'd still fail the empathy test or would have to take one that's more than one hundred questions long, so it would be a moot point. Basically, she argued that Enjolras' willpower has even overcome his involuntary actions like pupil dilation, which is used to determine if a person is human or Replicant.
My view is that Enjolras would be a Replicant, with the memories of someone else. My reasoning is:
1. Replicants have a four year life span. If we assume Enjolras showed up at university when he was 19 or 20 and with Enjolras' desire to change the world, this must seem a cruelty beyond cruelties, and it would explain why he didn't set a back-up plan or have the ABCs ask around for more than mere promises.
2. He's as shiny as Roy.^^
