Chris spent the next several hours briskly walking back to the town of Loghedge. He was extremely upset. He cursed and talked to himslef all the way to town. He really didn't give a care if someone heard him, probably would had scared them off with what was coming out of his mouth. How could be be so rejected. "I guess they have their little cliche going and do not want me around. Pretty fracking sad when you get rejected by even the freaks." So much anger and sarcasm emulated from Chris's voice. He didn't need them anyways. He'll just take care of himself as he always attempted to do, though not very well.

Chris got back to town by mid afternoon. He walked toward the market place and shops in search of a swordsmith and scribe. He never did much hammering over a forge, but his knowledge of techniuqes, blade design, and metals should land him a job quickly, and possibly even give his teacher quite a bit of fame and fortune in which he would get a small cut of in which to live comfortably, and set his plans in motion. As for the scribe part, it would help him develop connections, give a little extra gold, and give him a medium for his plans.

Chris searched around for a good blade smith, someone with some talent that he could share his knowledge with. Someone that he could could learn the practical side of smithing from, and together create beautiful works of art. He searched and searched through the market place, most of the smiths he found were okay, but not of the quality he was looking for. He continued to search the shops and markets until he could find what he was looking for.

It just so happened that Chris was wandering in the right part of town. Catherine Smith was dutifully buying meat and vegetables for the evening meal. She found the chore boring, but there was always a little fun in trying to haggle the dealers down to a cheaper price. Of course, she would have been happier over her forge. She had recently been experimenting with a slightly different folding technique with her small blades, which had promising results. If only she could find the right rhythm to keeping the blade heated and still work it correctly. Finicky timing, indeed.

As she continued down the crowded street, Catherine fell deep into her thoughts as to deciding on what she should try next. She tended to pay less attention to her surroundings, so it was with a start, that she realized she had taken a wrong turn, and wound up two streets away from where she wanted to be. Disgusted with herself, Catherine harrumphed, and looked about to get her orientations.

Once certain she knew where to go, she fell back in line with the flow of the street, and ended up next to a rather oddly dressed young man. The clothing was so odd, in fact, that Catherine quite forgot her earlier problem-solving, and focused instead on the man at her side. Could he be?

Chris was lost in thaught as he wondered around town. He wasn't satisfied with what he had found and was in delief that no one around here had any desent blade making skills at all. Perhaps he looked in the wrong parts of the small city and needed to go to another part. He turn around and bumped right into a young lady that was carrying groceries and such. Chris snapped out of his thaught and could not believe he let himself wonder off like that again. He had a bad habit of getting lost in his own mind, and sometimes at very inconvenant times like driving and in this case, walking down a busy street.

"I'm terribly sorry ma'lady. I hope I didn't bump into you too hard, just got a little lost in thinking about some things. Anything I cando to help you? I do apologize for this." Chris said in a very polite voice.

The young man she'd been surreptitiously watching chose that moment to turn around and walk directly into her! The potatoes went flying and were lost beneath the trampling feet, and Catherine found a wet, red patch on her dress where a tomato had become squashed from the impact. Sighing in disgust, she shot the young man a 'O, watch what you're doing!' look, grabbed him by the collar of his odd clothing, and took some enjoyment in hauling him off to the side of the road with her swordsmith muscles, out of the way of being run-over by the crowd.

"At least you are polite about it. But, honestly, that's a good half of my family's dinner wasted! If you'd really like to help, go and buy me a bushel of potatoes, and a new blouse." she said, peeved, but with a sense of humor. "Though, from the looks of you, you do not have the money, correct?"

Chris felt really embarressed as he was drug away by the collar of his shirt. He felt really sorry about what he had done. Back in town just for a couple hours, and already people weren't like him.

"Unfortunately not. I was just given enough money for a change of clothes, some soft boots, a bit of soap and food, which the food is gone now. I was hoping to find some work around here where I could make a desent living, and who knows, maybe even perhaps become successful at something. I was hoping to find a talented blade smith around these parts, but all the tables over at the market place weren't that of good quality. Was looking for a scribe as well since I can read and write pretty well. Oh well, perhaps another part of this small city, or another town." Chris sigh, and tried to look cheerful.

He looked down at her blouse. "No need to get a new blouse, I think I can get that out with some soap and cold water if we hurry. My name is Christopher, Christopher Sanders, didn't catch your name. I feel really bad about letting my mind wonder and bumping into you like that. I'll help you to the best of my abilities. It's the least I can do." Chris awaited her answer back, hoping she would be friendly and receptive. Most of the others that were brought here seemed to not like him, and he didn't want the same of the people of this city.
