I went to see the Furs in Costa Mesa, CA, and noticed on the day I was going that Yaz was actually the main headliner (something I skipped over). The Furs did a good performance and played a good selection of songs, although the crowd sucked at showing the slightest bit of interest other than for their hit songs, not to mention patches of empty seats here and there. I was surprised because I've heard the Furs way more than Yaz (on radio, TV, etc.)
Yaz was really funny, very stereotypical geeky '80s synthpop. I didn't get too into their music, although they have a few hits that are definite classics no matter what. The crowd for some reason was much more enthusiastic about Yaz than the Furs. One thing that was super cool was their light display. They had screens behind them that showed all kinds of images and then neon lights that constantly had different colors flickering. Yaz only has two members, a singer (Alison Moyet) and then Vincent who does the tech stuff, who was a former member of Depeche Mode. Altogether it was fun to see the crowd get so into their performance, personally I wasn't in awe but they were very fun to see.
