I created this thread as a fun little thing for me to do. Basically you guys can ask me about anything Sonic the Hedgehog related! I've been a fan of Sonic since he first appeared way back in 1991. I'm more of an expert on the (older) games but you can also ask me about the Aventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Underground (I have the entire series boxset!!!! mwahahahahahaa!!!!!).

I know a little of the Archie comics and the SatM series and the Sonic X series, but not much....I'm willing to do the research though!

But your questions can be to do with anything! Characters (bios and relationships....), storylines, random bits of info, hints and tips on the games themselves and I know some cheats too!

You can even ask me stupid questions just to see what I'll say.....eg, "Why is Robotnik full of Fail?"

Is sonic about to be taken over by Nintendo?

How is tails so good with machinary even though he had no specific training?

1. Why the hell did they change Robotnik's name?

Because Sonic and Tails originally started calling Robotnik "Eggman" as an insult (similar to "Robuttnik" in the cartoons....) and eventually kids (mainly in Japan) started calling him "Eggman" instead. Then it started getting used in adverts and eventually the games! But in Sonic Unleashed, it's going back to being Robotnik!

2. Is Sonic about to be taken over by Nintendo?

Sonic always has, and always will be owned by Sega, but Nintendo has bought Sega so yeah, technically.....Nintendo has already taken over Sonic.
I didn't like it at first...I was like "NOOOOOO!!! This cannot beeeee!!!!" but now I see, it's actually a good thing! Now there's more Sonic goodness than ever!! I'm really looking forward to Sonic Chronicles for DS and Sonic Unleashed, which I'm getting for the Wii.

3. How come Sonic never ages?

I'm not sure why Sonic (or any of the characters for that matter) never age. It could be due to laziness, but most characters never age (although most characters are never given ages to begin with!!)
He never ages although his age has changed!
He was originally 16 and Knuckles was 15. But since Sonic Heroes, Knuckles is now 16 and Sonic is only 15.....so he hasn't aged but he's gotten younger! eek
All the other character's ages have stayed the same.

4. How is Tails so good with machinary even though he's had no specific training.

Tails is actually self taught as I understand it...he orginally started tinkering with mechanics because he can't keep up with Sonic.
It just comes naturally to him, much like his ability to fly.
He has a very high intelligence level, some argue higher than Robotnik's (it comes close, but Robotnik actually has the higher IQ).
Tails is technically a mutant, which is why he's so smart, excellent with mechanics and has two tails which enables him to fly.

5. Is Sonic going to get married to Amy?

At first, Amy was always meant to be the one that Sonic ends up with. But there have been so many storylines, so it became a matter of personal opinion. In one of the Archie comics, Sonic actually marries Princess Sally.
But the newer games and Sonic X (which is based on the games) focus on his relationship with Amy.
Most people choose to disregard his bizarre interspecies relationship with the human Princess Elise from 2005's Sonic the Hedgehog. Plus the slight nod at Sonic having a relationship with Shahra the Genie of the Ring, in Sonic and the Secret Rings.
Now I think that Sonic probably will marry (or at least be forced to) Amy. She was his first girlfriend, she's still around now, Amy's the logical wife choice.....for me anyway. There are still loads of fans of the SonicXSally pairing....

Sega still make games, they just work under Nintendo now so they can't develop their own consoles anymore. After what happened with the Dreamcast and the success of the DS and Wii, I don't think Sega really want to try and compete in the console war anymore....

I made sonic in the sims 2. Why won't he fall in love with Amy? Instead they just get into fights D:

Yeah, the Archie Comics are American. I can get them here, but they're really hard to come by....I actually hope that Sonic doesn't marry anyone. I never really saw the point of Amy in the first place it's just one of those "Every hero needs a girlfriend" type things....

1. What did Archie comics do to Sonic to seem like he would marry someone?

I don't really think it was Archie Comics' doing....it all kind of started with Sonic CD where Amy first comes into it. Then I started seeing pictures and screensavers showing Sonic all dressed up with bunches of flowers and stuff. In almost everything that Sonic appears in he has to have a girlfriend! In the comics (and one of the cartoon series) It's Princess Sally. (The main one anyway....there's also Mina Mongoose and a thing with Fiona Fox....poor poor Tails! *sniff*), in The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Robotnik creates a robotic hedgehog named Breezie who tries to kill Sonic (then feels bad....but I hate her because she throws Tails into a river!) and so on....
The main reason for this is because he's Mario's rival. Mario has Peach.
This also kind of explains why on earth they felt like they had to create Daisy for Luigi!!
It's all Sega's fault because they wanted to keep up with Nintendo!!

Aww! That's so cool! I didn't know that was possible in Sims 2.

3. How did Knuckles die in the Archie Comics and then came back to life?

Damn you! The worst part is you know this answer to this already don't you? I hate the fact that the Archie Comics are so rare over here.....
I'm still gonna answer the question anyway though......

Don't hurt me if I'm wrong but from what I was able to dig up, Knuckles dies after undergoing a transformation, which turns him green and giving him some new powers. He then tries to use his newfound powers to fight against Mammoth Mogul and ends up dying. He later returns back to life, rejecting the ability to become one with the Chaos Force.

Because people are sick in the head! Shadow and Sonic are another popular couple......at least you only saw a pic of them making out!!! burning_eyes The horror......the horror......
