First one; Phantom of the Opera. I saw it the day after Christmas and I loved it. The cinematography made this movie. The actors all had wonderful voices and the visuals were all done very well.

I fell in love with Chicago. Excellent one.
Other than that, I did like Amelie, Finding Nemo, and 50 First Dates.

I love Amelie, and I'm so eager to see Phantom of the Opera! It isn't playing anywhere in my city though. cry My favorite movie is Lost In Translation... it's just such a sweet, classy movie. I also love the Incredibles... Even though it is the exact opposite of LIT.

Amelie was amazing; I loved Chicago; finding Nemo was adorable; 50 First Dates was amusing enough; I have yet to see The Phantom of The Opera, Lost in Translation, and The Incredibles.
I loved the Shrek movies, especially the second. There are some others I should probably mention here, but all that's coming to mind is Monty Python... later, then.

Catch-22 I fell in love with Chicago. Excellent one. Other than that, I did like Amelie, Finding Nemo, and 50 First Dates. Ooo I liked Chicago and Amelie as well. What I'd recomend would be "Bang Bang, You're Dead." and "Dogville." Both really weird, but you end up walking away with something gained, you know? Though, Dogville is a hard one to watch, so be warned. Websites ^_^ "Dogville" http://www.tvropa.com/Dogville/"Bang Bang You're Dead" Alas, doesn't seem to have a webby, but I found a good review page and synopsis instead. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0288439/

I just saw Secret Window and Shaun of the Dead. Both are extremely funny in their own right. (Secret Window was probably funny becuase I was watching it with a bunch of my crazy friends.) Shaun of the Dead was a wonderful spoof. (with zombie violence 3nodding )

I concur very much with 'Phantom of the Opera'. The singing was brilliant as were the actors and graphics. It was all just so breathtaking.
I recently saw 'The Series of Unfortunate Events' which in some ways was disappointing...depending on how you look at it. If you're going to compare it to the books then you might not enjoy certain aspects of it. The choices they picked for the three Baudelaire children were absolutley superb...though I have to disagree with their choice of Jim Carrey as Count Olaf who brought a sort of 'comedy' sense to the movie which was not necessary. Another thing I noticed is a slight..er...sexual tension between the oldest daughter, Violet, and the youngest son, Klaus that if you were oblivious to their actual relationship, you'd start shouting "Just kiss her already!!" But overall it was pretty darn good.

Looks like I'm going to have to go see this Phantom of the Opera. I love operas. Is it like a musical or an opera?

'The Series of Unfortunate Events' movie looks like it will be the exact opposite of the books, sadly. Though I'm a hardcore Lemony Snicket fan (yes, yes, I know, I know. I've read his unofficial autobiography probably at least 20 times.), I don't think I can bring myself to see the movie.
Finding Nemo, Shrek, Secret Window and The Incredibles are the only ones that I've seen that have been mentioned so far. That makes me feel like I'm a 3D freak. <3 I'm more into semi-indie movies than the media-crazed ones that come out (but I do love a wonderful action or horror). My favorite would be Dawg, with Elizabeth Hurley and Denis Leary. I could swoon over Denis Leary forever. Forever, I say!
Also, another favorite of mine would have to be the timeless musical, Grease. The musical influence behind it are well done (though I do despise the idea of Olivia and John matching pitch at the climax of the piece for 'Summer Nights), and the overall style of it is quite original, though several important pieces have been changed from the broadway.
Which brings me to another topic. Broadway musicals gone movies. I'm kind of slow on this one - is Grease the only one that ever made this leap?

Les Miserable (though the movie version had no singing) and Chicago are a couple notables. wink
