Okay, I know it is a "Star Trek" related reference, but everytime I see people walking around with that wireless telephone thing in their ear, I think back to that great Star Trek "Borg" statement "resistance is futile." Yes, we now have a state law that says we all have to operate our cell phones "hands free" when driving our cars, but why use the ear pieces when we are walking around in public. I for one am getting tired of seeing people wandering Wal-Mart seemingly talking to themselves. It is simply surreal. I say take back control of our lives. Leave the wireless ear pieces in the car where it belong. That is what I do -- they will not assimilate me...
The Question is Should Hands Free Cell Phones be used while walking around?

I see no reason why hands free devices should be confined to automobiles. These devices make things easier on the person talking, and are so commonplace already that, although it may first appear as though someone is talking to himself 9or an imaginary friend or something), it only takes a second or two to realize what is actually happening.
The people who use these devices while walking around have their hands available to pick up items in the grocery store or to catch their blance should they happen to trip or stumble.
I have no problems with people using their hands-free devices while walking around.
Though, I DO have issues with people who want to be taken seriously but can't make simple, grammatically correct and coherent posts. How can we take you seriously when we aren't even certain what you are trying to say?

yet again i will go against what everyone else is saying and will say people sould use hands free cell phones while walking around or on the job. while they are moving around quickly they are more awear of what is going on around them then having one hand up to there ear. not a very good reason but its all i have at this time again i am FOR

Makes it kind of hard to tell who has a mental disability now days. For all you know that homeless person could be talking on his cell phone. Just don't ask who he is talking to. xd

It has been difficult to tell who has mental disablities for quite some time now... This will just help a small fraction of those people fit in a little better.
Besides, unless they are talking to you, who cares anyway?

Those people should still have the right to choose whether they want to use such devices. It shouldn't be up to anyone else.

My question to everyone:
Why is talking to yourself insane?
I sing to myself, what is the difference?
(conversations with yourself are very enlightening, try it sometime)
I know it was a bit off topic, but a point worth bringing up when talking about this.
(i am against banning hands free devices while not in cars, freedom of choice; it is not like people are being harmed from it. You just have paranoia.)
