So, I for one have experience in a non-sword style as well as my training in Ataryuudo. I've been training with Master Won for almost 2 years now in both Tae Kwon Do (real TKD, not the fitness classes that call themselves Tae Kwon Do schools) and Hapkido. I'm curious to know if anyone else has experience in martial arts outside of the weapons area. If your martial art is an unusual one, feel free to explain it further. For example, I know what Mui Thai is, but a lot of people out there probably don't.

Hap Ki Do is a Korean martial art that is similar to Jujitsu with a little of Aikido. It works well when paired with hard styles like Tae Kwon Do. It has many sweeps, take-downs, joint-locks, and counters. What makes the style so effective is that rather than relying on using force, or even manipulating force as in Aikido, it uses pressure points, allowing a small practitioner to just as effectively use it to take down a larger opponent as a large opponent against a large opponent.

There is a common misconception about Ninjutsu. It is not one style, but the combination of all the elements that make up the ninja. This includes grapples, knife-fighting, swordsmanship, spearmanship, striking, explosives, stealth, and survival.
