It was a dark little alleyway in one of the worst parts of Loghedge town where an odd scene was about to arise. Between two dark buildings there was a pile of grimy green hey, left out in the natural elements for far too long. And lodged in that sickening pile of rotten matter was a man clad in strange dark clothings, snoring loudly, peacefully unaware of his surroundings. He had no idea that he was no longer in Chicago, no longer truly on earth, or in a proper time. Yet none of that truly mattered when you were in a bad part of town, and depending on who came up well...It would make the difference between life or death for this mysterious man from another world.

Yet for now he slept peacefully unaware from the effects of alcohol in that disgusting pile of hay. Soon though...someone would awaken him, and his little adventure would begin.

Anthony had gotten bored of the streets, finally. He'd been in the shops, seen the sites that most people presented, talked to a bunch of people - he was even learning a few things from Jessie about her trade - but he wanted to explore more. His age limited him greatly, he'd been slow to find. Merchant guards or what seemed to be police here - didn't seem to want to talk about their swords or other neat things, if they had them - let alone letting Anthony hold one of them.

So he'd decided he wanted detail. With Anny in tow, they explored the sometimes clean, oft-filth ridden trenches between the houses. He did his best to stay clean - apparently Jessie didn't like that much grime on her apprentice.

One thing he was noticing more and more was that there really wasn't someone who planned new buildings. They just kept being built - so often they had oddly-placed spaces between them. Where four houses met, here in the center of the town, there was a small clearing - with the buildings so high, though, the entire place was in the shade. Seeing some sort of well in the corner, Anthony investigated it, making quiet comments to Anny.

Slowly conciseness came to Deon, not from the light of dawn or the pain of a splitting headache, but rather from an uncomfortable potsition. The man's eyes flickered open slowlly and then slowlly he sat up...or rather tried to shift his weight forward properly to sit up. Instead he overshot it and landed face first onto the hard cold cobblestone in front of the soft rotten hey that had just held him. "********!" The man shouted loudly before rolling over onto his back. "******** god damn ******** of a ******** floor..." His words masked his drunken state, then again pain was a good way to temorarily sober someone up.

Groaning, from either pain or the alchole the man pressed up from the ground useing his hands. Of course...that diden't do much and once his head was off most of the ground he moved back, pushing it against a building wall. "Okash..." He muttered in a more fitting sloshed tone. The man then proceeded to move himself back, so more of his body would be against the wall, and eventually he was sitting upright. "Mmmph..." the tone was tired and sketchy. "Thish...thish...thish isen...is...not my hom...placcy? Mmm...aparthingy...yeah..." He then titled his head upwards and stared at the strange ceiling of this building...

Deon could have sworn it looked like stars...of course if he were sober he would have realized that there wasen't a single familiar constilation.

Anthony whirled around to see a mound of hay moving. And cussing something fierce. And then a man tumbled out of against the wall - which was good, really. After he'd seen the other people turn freaky, the last thing he wanted was to start meeting swearing hay. The man looked seriously sick, or something. He could barely talk. Was he hurt or something?

Anny pointed out something Anthony hadn't considered. "He probly went to bed here. I'd doubt that he'd feel OK after that." Anthony nodded. Kind of strange, though, he thought, Most people don't cuss like that here. Even the ones that like doing it. Was he from Normal Land, as Anthony had started calling it?

"Hey Mister?"
