While creating your character, keep in mind that the Special Tactics and Reconnaissance branch of the Citadel is composed of only those who are chosen by the Council. Your character cannot start as a Spectre unless approved by crewmembers. Additionally biotics are so common among the asari that to not have biotic ability is an oddity. For the other species of the galaxy, biotic aptitude is extraordinarily rare. Biotic ability will be granted on a case-by-case basis considering several factors, chiefly the biotic tendencies in each species. Additionally, your character profile must include a physical description, images are optional but not mandatory. Finally, remember that Mass Effect is set in the 22nd century, and for all species, but humans especially, there are a broad range of appearance altering products ranging from pigmentation pills for everything from skin to eyes, to height altering injections; this also means that a person can look to be in their mid-twenties, but in actuality be closer to sixty in age. Be creative with your character, and have fun.
