I saw a post about this on the Electronic Music forum, so I thought I'd say a few things.
First off, thank you to all the people who have responded so passionately about the raid on Versus 2. It was some ******** up s**t. If it wasn't for all you ravers who voiced your opinions on the issue, the "law" might have been able to cover it up. Fortunatley the word was spread far and wide, and now there is national media coverage. If all goes well our rights will be reinstated and the truth will be exposed.
As some of you may know, I'm from Utah. The police raid has had a huge impact on our scene. Not only because rights were violated and laws were broken, but because now their is a dark cloud over any party here. Nothing is going on right now because people think going to a rave in Utah will lead to either:
A. Getting your a** kicked by a few swat members with assult rifles.
B. Being attacked by cop dogs.
C. Getting tear gas thrown at you while dancing.
D. Being arrested for something you didn't do.
E. Being hit with a taser gun or two.
Yeah.... it kind of screws with your reputation.
Luckily for me, I decided to get drunk as hell instead of going to Versus. But even if I wasn't at the party, I had alot of friends who decided to attened and it changed their lives to say the least.
I'm going to be attending a protest about it whenever they get around to scheduling it. So if you happen to catch another news story about it, look for me if you remember what I look like.
If you have questions about the whole scenario, go ahead and ask away. I'd really like to hear what you guys know, and maybe separate some facts from fiction. I'll also provide videos, pictures, statements, or whatever else you want on the event, just ask.
Thank you again for the support! I love seeing people come together for each other, especially when it's the whole rave world coming together for my scene.
