We know it.
We've got that long beautiful hair.
But how do you put it up for uniform day?
I cannot do french braids.
That shits crazy.
xDD
Marines are picky about girls with their hair. D=

High tail braided bun. That and twenty million bobby pins xd jeez, I've gotten to the point where I've been so pissed off with my hair, inspections and all, where I wanted to buzz it off. When our Unarmed goes for competitions we always get counted off for not having all our hair done the same way scream

I put my hair up in a sock bun, but it always takes anywhere from half an hour to an hour to do so, mainly because my hair doesn't like buns; it prefers being in a pinned braid stare . However, both ways mean using a lot of pins, meaning that I have to go on a pin hunt whenever I take my hair down xd . Of course, that's to be expected, considering how I've got uber long, thick brunette locks that are getting close to my waist. xd .

its pretty simple for me,gel and hair spray is my best friend! you slick your hair back into a pony tail, bring the gel all the way through. twist the pony tail, then twist it around so its on your head. wrap it in a hair tie and your good to go. then finish it off with hair spray.

I don't have much advice for long hair, sorry! sweatdrop If you had questions on long hair then it wouldn't be a problem. 3nodding Thankfully, the Navy don't seem too picky on how you have your hair, just as long as it's above the collar and within regulations.

LOL im in Army Jrotc but we do either the sock bun or the braided bun. We tried the french braid last year but only 2 girls knew how to do it so we decided to never do it again xD

Our Senior Cheif in my NJ company (it'll be a battalion next year!) one time made the comment that I'd need an ice pick to get it down. I think he's right! lol

It helps if you get your hair soaking wet and put mousse or somethin in it and then put it up bc then once it dries it'll stick but you just gotta keep messin w it tell it dries. i do it all the time for D&C or even just weekly inspection and it stays for a LONG time!!! LOL but you gotta wash everything out afterwards bc your hair becomes a rock xD LOL but try it sometime(:

That's what I do. What really sucks, is that I've got this cowlick that doesn't stay down like the rest of my hair does. It's not too bad at weekly inspections, but at drill competitions it sucks! I always get gigged for it, but no matter what I do it never stays!
Of course, the XO this past year kept on telling me that my hair was too long. She's a fellow woman, so I had no problems telling her this; "Katy, my hair will be too long when I can't get it into a regulation hairstyle. Since that day hasn't come yet, my hair isn't too long!" Mind you, when I said that I was a Seaman and the assistant admin officer, and she was a Lieutenant and the XO. It probably wasn't such a good idea for me to say that, but I definitly didn't listen when she pretty much ordered me to cut my hair. xd
Well, I'm out of NJROTC now (WAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! crying ), so I don't have to use hair gel or my hair socks as much anymore. It's gonna feel strange to go back to school without that uniform. By the way, this was the only time I had to turn it in.

your hair~ I'm in the NJROTC and we use "sock buns". Take a white, black or whatever color your instructors prefer. Cut about two inchs off the toe of the sock. From the elasctic part (the part that goes on the leg/ankle part) start to roll. Every 2 rolls take your thumbs and pull the sock bun apart, relax the thumbs and roll again. Or if you want to be a cheat, go to CVS or Walgreens, Sally's, ect. there are pre-made sock buns. Anyways back to making a sock bun. Then take your hair and place it in a pony tail (use black or your natural hair color hair ties.). Place your hair through the center of the sock bun or sock doughnut (whatever you want to call it).Smooth your hair around it and try your best to make sure none of the sock shoes through. Take a hair tie and once again tie it around the sock bun & hair. the excess hair bring it down and around, take bobby-pins and pin it to the sock bun, make sure none of the hair is sticking up. The video will explain how to get your hair over it and a visual on how to make it. This is not me in the video so give all credit to the nice woman who took her time to make it. (: Only fair. http://youtu.be/XZTfLDnUCdc Good Luck with your hair <3 I just want to point out that she uses a scrunchie in the video. If your instructors are like mine, AVOID THE SCRUNCHIE!!! Use a regular black or hair color tie to finish the bun.
