Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop

Mr. Scrivenshaft, of Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, is
having his famous annual writing contest at the
same time as our next Hogsmeade Week, so all
Tyou lucky 3rd years, and over, grab your quills, and
parchment, and head over to Hogsmeade and try your
hand at his contest.
You walk into the small, but somehow cozy quill shop, and immediately notice the owner talking to a small group of Hogwarts students, with eager looks in their eyes. You walk over to listen to him explain the rules of his contest.

You have a few choices as to what you would like to write. However, all prompts must be written as though coming from the Harry Potter Verse. Poems, for example might be written from the perspective of a Witch, or a story might take place at a World Quidditch Cup, etc. They do not have to have canon characters though. You can use original ideas and characters, taking place anywhere (Or when) in the magical community. As long as it somehow is recognizable as in the Verse.
Choose One:
A Poem.
You may choose to write either a Sonnet or Villanelle, Free Verse may be accepted, but I have to love it!

Idea -
It is the summer after your seventh year at Hogwarts, and you have started your new job. There is another new person in your position, and you notice that he or she has been acting very odd.
(Choose a job, and describe the conflict and how it is resolved)
or
Quote:
Idea-
You are a muggle born, and one fine morning, while having toast and jam with your parents, you hear a knock on the door. Some is there to talk to you, they hand you nicely folded letter, and want to have a talk about your future.
(Write about how your main character and the experience of finding out s/he is a witch/wizard, and what happened after.)
Judging:
I will be Judging. No others. You only have until 8/6/08 to write it. I know this is a very short period, be careful, and aware of the deadline. No exceptions.

Figurative Speech
Plot Depth (For Short Story)
Character Development (For Short Story)

Scheme and Structure (Poetry)
