The Shrieking Shack
The most haunted building in England, the ghosts seem to have calmed down over the last couple of decades, but no one with half a brain will go near it, even now. It stands blocked off at the end of the High Road in Hogsmeade, sometimes Hogwarts students will stand at the end of the road, daring each other to take a look inside, but no one ever does.

This will be your RP event. That's right, you gain points just for roleplaying. Normally I'm very concerned with literacy and length, and blah, blah, blah. For this RP, all characters will be accepted, and you simply must have some since of literacy. Capitalization, subject-verb agreement, punctuation, all are very important.
This is not going to be a long term Role Play, we will not be picking it back up next Hogsmeade Weekend, so you only have 8 days to resolve the storyline. So you will be making major plot decisions every single day, helped along by me every chance I can interject. You want your posts to always have content. Also, make sure that you are not afraid to advance the storyline with your posts, we don't want 8 days of boring posts, do we? Please make good use of OOC discussions to advance the storyline!
Of course, no god-modding or taking over another characters actions unless given permission.
To begin, just create a character, by posting this:
Character name: House: Personality:
Simple as that. Only Original Characters, no canon! This takes place during the seventh book.
Story:
You are a first year student, you have a arrived to Hogwarts safely. You hope to remain that way for the rest of the year, but everyday that seems less and less possible. We begin on the first Saturday after you have been sorted. Your first classes are over, and you hope to get a little relaxing done.
Are you a brave Griffindor, telling the others the latest things you heard on Potterwatch? Are you a proud Slytherin bragging to your friends about how you are related to Snape your great new Headmaster? Maybe you are an intelligent Ravenclaw, plotting with your fellows about the best ways to help Harry from inside the castle. Or a studious Hufflepuff, studying for your exams, you hope if you keep your head down, and study you wont attract attention, and you will be safe.
You can be anyone you want!
Points:
You will gain 1 House point for every 100 words you type per post.
So one post with 401 points gets 4 house points, a post with 493 words gets 4 house points, 501 gets 5 house points, etc., etc. Your posts must, must, must have quality content. If you just post crap you wont get any house points at all. I am the final judge of this, period!
Name and House!

Characters
NPC: Dragoste Moon
I will periodically step in to the RP as a certain Canon character to further the plot along! _________________________
Character name: Kaoru [I can't think of anything, so Im using one of my PRC names] House: Slytherin Personality: Quiet, anti-social, narcissistic.
_________________________
Character name: Aurora House: Gryffindor Personality: Aurora is very intelligent, but she doesn't get amazing grades. She takes her brains for granted because everything comes so easily to her, so she doesn't apply herself as much as she should to reach her full potential. she studies on her own time, but not necessarily what she's supposed to be studying for class. She is sort of a self-directed learner. She's extremely independent and hates asking for help. She would rather fail on her own than succeed with help from others - though, she hates failing. Despite her independence, she cares greatly for those close to her. She loves trying new things and being challenged. She's always trying to prove herself - to herself as well as others. She's not one to pretend to like everyone, she knows it doesn't work that way - but she will give everyone a chance. She doesn't care about what house you're in, as long as you're a good person. When she makes up her mind about someone, nothing that anyone can say will change it. She's used to seeing people and things in a much different way than others, and it doesn't bother her.
_____________________________
Character Name: Joy Ann House: Slytherin Personality: Joy Ann is almost exactly how her names says, she is joyful but not around the other houses and strangers. Having a dislike for those that she doesn't like. Very loud with her voice and doesn't know when to stop running her mouth sometimes, she is very attached with those that she knows. Joy Ann doesn't like people touching her things, she is determined to be one of the best in the class though she is very respectful towards those who are older then her and those who can actually beat her in intelligence or magic. Only the ones close to her know how she really acts, some say she doesn't deserve to be in Slytherin because she does have a kind heart and wouldn't actually wish physical harm to the muggle borns. Though her personality seem a bit grim she wouldn't kill someone if it came down to it.

GreatBuddha - Slytherin
Leaning against the fence that encircled and snaked its way all around the outside of the Shrieking Shack, Kaoru stared off into space towards the Shack. He thought back to his maelstrom of a first week, the overwhelming feeling of seeing Hogwarts Castle for the first time foremost in his mind. Even now he glanced back over his shoulder toward where the castle lay, and saw the highest most spires of its numerous towers. Remembering the Hogwarts Express, and the huge hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley made him grin. He was used to being around wizards, he was from a wizarding family after all. He stood there still, reminiscing about the last week of classes, it was all easy work the teachers giving them an easy load being first years and all. Nevertheless, he was still wore out a bit, he had on the standard school robes with his House emblem on the front, bearing the green and silver snake of Slytherin. Running a hand through his shoulder length black hair he glanced up as he heard a hawk's cry but then dismissed it as he saw the tail end of the bird dip towards the ground gracefully. He turned around and leaned against the fence with his back to the Shack, he was half tempted to go in there, but he wouldnt do it alone. Half of his reasoning was curiousity, and the other half cautious. Why go in alone and risk falling through the floor? Then who would help you? He decided to wait and see if someone else of his House, or even someone else would go join him for a spot of fun. At heart Kaoru was rather mischevious. On top of that, he wasnt in Slytherin long enough to let the House predjudices to get to him, the way most Slytherins and Gryffindors hated each other on principal. If he ran into a Gryffindor that made him dislike the House then oh well, no use crying over spilled milk really. Letting out an exasperated sigh, it seemed everyone was still busy up there in the village still.

GreatBuddha - Slytherin
Getting bored with simply staring at the scenery, Kaoru walked around the immediate area. He found a rather large rock, ideal for substituting as a chair and sat down. Pulling out a random book from his school bag, he brought just in case it got boring down in Hogsmeade. Flipping through the pages of his Transfiguration book, he stopped at a random chapter and started reading. It was an easy way to pass the time, since it seemed nobody was interested in the most haunted locale in England. He browsed through, trying to see what they might be learning later in the year. Seeing some interesting topics, he let his eyes do their usual dance across the pages. He might be in Slytherin, but that didnt mean he couldnt be a book worm. He enjoyed reading, more for entertainment than to be a bookworm like to geeks in Ravenclaw. Kaoru grinned as he thought of the bookworms in Ravenclaw, and the modest do-gooders in Hufflepuff and the great proudly lions of Gryfindor. They said that Slytherins were proud, but Gryfindor could run neck and neck with them. Standing up after about half an hour, he stood up and stretched, craning his neck this way and that.

GreatBuddha - Slytherin
He was still reading when two figures appeared on the path ahead of him, whispering in low voices. Looking up, Kaoru recognized them as Death Eaters, patrolling the areas around Hogsmeade and the castle. Catching sight of a a single student all the way out here, they decided to check who he was. "Hey kid, whats your name?" one of them asked in a rather deep and gruff voice. Kaoru responded rather simply "Kaoru". He put the book away so he could give them his undivided attention. "House and year, and what are you doing out here?" asked the other man, keeping the hood of his cloak up to block the view of his face. He had recognized the boys school robes. "Slytherin, First Year. The school's Hogsmeade visit is this weekend, and I came here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Village. Didn't feel like fighting through the crowd of people." The two men when he heard he was Slytherin loosened up with their overbearing attitude, and simply asked him about certain teachers or people in the school that they were assosciated with. Then they left, continued on with their patrol, leaving Kaoru where he was.

Aurora walked swiftly down the main street at Hogsmeade. She carried with her a messenger bag that was empty except for her coin purse. This was her first visit to Hogsmeade, being a muggle-born, and she wanted to be able to take back anything that caught her eye. Before she went shopping, though, she insisted on checking out the Shrieking Shack. It was said to be haunted - she couldn't help but be intrigued. She approached the shack just as some Death Eaters were leaving. They eyed her suspiciously, but she wasn't afraid - being a first year muggle-born, she didn't know that this was completely abnormal for the wizarding school. She just knew that as long as she didn't do anything out of line, she wouldn't have anything to fear the death eaters. Well, at least that's what she thought, anyway. She approached the fence that encircled the property and stared at the huge, dark house, noticing that there was another boy there admiring it. Her eyes lit up with curiosity, and she said in awe, loud enough for the boy to hear her, "Fascinating, isn't it?" belleanomalie Gryffindor

GreatBuddha - Slytherin
{Yay! Someone to Rp with. ^^]
Kaoru looked up and saw the young girl, he listened to what she said and responded simply "Oh yes. Ive heard it was the most haunted building in all of England." He placed his book back into his messenger bag, and stood up, brushing out his robes that were wrinkled from sitting on that large rock. Stepping over to the fence, he wasn't visibly troubled by the presence of the Death Eaters at all actually. His family, while being of wizarding purebloods were neutral on the stance the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord took. He was raised thinking everyone was human so they deserved some sort of rights, but he really didnt trouble himself over such things as that. He walked up and leaned against the fence again, peering off at the Shack, as the wind blew through his long black hair. His House insignia could be seen on the outside of his robes, and when he peered out of the corner of his eye, saw that the girl was from Gryffindor, the corner of his lips twitched slightly in a smirk as he thought of the Death Eaters that just left teh area. If she had been only moments earlier, it would have been trouble, she probably would have been hassled and more than likely ridiculed or even worse. Propping his elbow up on the fence, and resting his head in his hand, he pondered outloud "I wonder what it looks like on the inside."

Someone came rushing towards the students from Gryffindor and Slytherin as she headed towards one particular person, the boy from Slytherin. The girl was a little short but not the size of a goblin, she had long light brown hair and green eyes. Grabbing onto Kaoru's arm, she was energetic and it was obvious with the way that she was smiling. "Long time no see Kaoru, A gryffindor student" she said barely realizing someone else was there, she was always too busy to realize that someone else was around there. The girl wasn't wearing the robes so it was hard to tell whether or not she was from Slytherin herself, she was a pure blood though. The girl wore average clothing, jeans, boots, a knitted hat, long sleeved shirt and a long coat as well. Looking at the girl she stood in front of her then tilted her head as she continued to examine her. "Friend of yours?" she asked but then quickly lost interest, looking over at the shrieking shack she got chills on her back. That place always gave her the curiousity and creeps to actually find out what was inside, though she didn't dare go because some say that it was forbidden which made it all the more tempting to go. The girl asked a lot of questions "Were you actually talking to someone other then me?" she asked as that was a bit shocking since he was always so quiet which showed since she was the one that talked a lot most of the time. The girl still had to get her robes to put them on. Besides it wasn't like she'd want to wear robes when she was outside, it would be kind of embarassing. It would probably tell people that she didn't have clothes other then the robes that they had to wear for school. Biting her bottom lip she waited for her long time friend to say something to her, that is if he even wanted to speak to her. Depended on his mood, hopefully he was in a good one.

Aurora turned in response to the boy. She gave him a sly grin and said, "Me too. I wonder-" Suddenly she was interrupted by an eccentric girl whose house she was unsure of. When the girl addressed her as "a Gryffindor student," she wondered if the stranger was a Slytherin as well. She had noticed in the time she'd been here that students of the same house tended to gravitate towards each other, as though it was a law to stick with your own house. Once the girl had stopped firing questions left and right, she added, quickly and politely, "I'm Aurora." She smiled and held her hand out to the girl. "We only just met, actually." belleanomalie Gryffindor Word Count: 115

Kaoru was suddenly pulled off balance as someone grabbed on to his arm, looking down he saw a girl from his House, only not in school robes. He still wore his, but that was because he was simply lazy and didn't want to go and change out of them. "Hey, what's up?" he said rather automatically. This girl was probably the only friend he'd made so far, and she tended to be the most energetic out of the bunch, with Kaoru just sitting there listening. She tended to be one that steals the conversation, and its hard to get in words edgewise. "Keep your voice down Joy." Kaoru then said through tensed teeth "There are Death Eaters out and about, I dont feel like being interogated before their Muggle Born Hunting Squads." He then glanced back out towards the Shrieking Shack, and added "I would really like to go explore the place. It seems like fun." He didnt know if he would really go through with it though, since the Death Eaters were out and about, and then there was the Shack itself, even if it wasnt haunted, it was a decrepit old building with who knows how many potential pitfalls and hidden dangers. he thought about the benefits and the risks of being caught in there or trying to cover the ground to get to the Shack.

Hearing the girl reply she laughed a bit after getting scolded by Kaoru again, she rarely acted hyper but today was different. She had chocolate. Not chocolate from the trolly or anything else but muggle chocolate. Her mother had snuck some into her bag and she had found it already. "Sorry" she said to Kaoru as she knew that he did get mad sometimes, looking at Aurora she smiled a bit. "Aurora, nice name" she said as she didn't like her name that much. Seeing the girl put her hand out she arched an eyebrow, why was everyone so formal. Though she said that her and Kaoru barely met she didn't believe her, she never believed anyone that she didn't know. The girl didn't shake her hand but instead gave her a quick hug then sat down next to Kaoru right after, she bit her bottom lip again and her nose wrinkled slightly. "I'll go with you another time" she said as she didn't mind going as long as she had a flash light and her wand. Not to mention a gun, a gun was one of the best things to always carry with you, sadly she wasn't old enough to have one. Yawning a bit she barely realized that she didn't introduce herself to the new girl. "I'm Joy Ann" the girl said obviously not giving her last name for some reason. Ficing her hat so that her long bangs wound still stick out she didn't have anymore questions since she got into trouble with Kaoru and if she made him angry one more time then she would probably have to hide behind a rock again. Hopefully the classes were going to be great, she was always worried about losing interest in her classes again. Joy Ann was the kind of kid who fell asleep in class if she didn't find it interesting at all, she got bored and distracted very easily.

Aurora was a bit taken aback by the girl's comment about her name. She wasn't sure whether she was being sarcastic or not. Another thing she'd observed about the houses was that of all of them, Slytherin and Gryffindor had the most obvious rivalry. She'd gotten her fair share of snide comments from older Slytherins, but she didn't let it get to her. The muggle schools had their fair share of cliques as well, it would have been naive of her to assume the wizarding world was much different. She was a little shocked when the girl stepped forward and hugged her, but she was glad she didn't shove her off or ignore her completely like so many - Gryffindor and Slytherin alike - seemed to do to members of their rivaling houses. She sat down next to her and smiled when she introduced herself. She then turned to Kaoru, remembering a comment he had made, and asked, "What do you mean.. 'Muggle-born hunting squads?'" She added somewhat sarcastically, "What are they, some sort of glorified playground bullies or something?" She had heard the term "muggle-born" quite a bit in the short time she'd been here. She wondered before her arrival if she would be treated differently because of it, but she figured that sort of thing was common. - non-wizards producing wizard offspring, that is. Now that she thought about it further, she realized that an awful lot of students - Slytherins especially, though she had attributed that to the house rivalry issue - had avoided her completely. In fact, the only students she had talked to so far were muggle-borns as well. She knew because she had seen them with their bewildered parents shortly before they boarded the train. She never really made the connection at the time. belleanomalie Gryffindor Word count: 300
