I've heard mixed opinions of Minerva; some people like her, but others don't. I personally like her.

I kinda like her. She's not really a huge, impacting character. And if Artemis needs a girlfriend, I would personally suggest Holly and not Minerva.
But she's not that bad of a person. There are people who absolutely hate her, but I don't see why. She may not be my favorite character, but she's not my most hated either.

I probably wouldn't dislike her in the right context.
But the way she came into the storyline five books in as a near Arty clone didn't make me all that prone to like her. She needed time to develop with the other characters; it was far too risky a move to throw a character so similar to Artemis into the mix like that and have him have a crush on her so quickly like he seems to in the book. It just reminded me of a fanfic.

I don't know why,but I absolutly HATE Minerva.For me,she is the kinda character you love to hate!Artemis can get a better girlfriend then her.

I don't know, a few times I thought she was all right, but at others she mostly just annoyed me. -_-

to put it simply.....minerva is what artemis USED to be......and having two characters who are pretty much the same is boring.....which is probbaly why she isn't in the latest book.....

I'm with Fairy Alchemist, but I would have liked to see this in book 6:
"Butler, what happened to Minerva?"
"Some strange group called the Sue-Slayers hired Billy Kong to kill her."
Proud member of the Sue slayers. THat or,

Wow, am I the only one that actually liked Minerva? I mean she was arrogant and an arty clone but that didn't make me hate her. I thought that for a character introduced over half way through the serie and without much time to develop she was actually rather good. Though I do like Holly better, I believe if Minerva did a little growing up she'd be a good compainion.

I had mixed feelings on Minerva. I thought I was gonna hate her to death, but when I was finally able to read The Lost Colony, I was surprised she wasn't as bad as I thought.
I even ended up drawing a picture of her (and accidently giving her the wrong eye color...xD)

I think the main reason people don't like Minerva is because they feel threatened by her. We all (I hope) want Artemis and Holly to get together and Minerva stands in the way of that. And, I suppose she reminds me of our little Arty in book 1. I just don't like her. Maybe it's the way she looks, like a spoiled little girl, which she is. She isn't the choice person I would want Artemis to be attracted to. And Artemis Minerva just doesn't work. Even Eoin Colfer could see that. Perhaps that's why she isn't mentioned at all in book 6. (if you've read it)
